Will ALT have ATH again?

Most of the ALTs are far below than their ATH. Even from the top 100, top 50 or top 10. Most of them are 10x below, some are more. For example, Nano ia now at around $3.5 which ATH is $37, almost 10x below.
I'm not particularly talking about Nano only. I'm talking about all the top 50 altcoins for example. What do you think? Will they make new ATH or simply get some hype? I have invested some amount on different alts, I'm in good profit but initially I planned to hold for ATH. Now, things are looking different. In my opinion, most of the ALTs will not be able to make a new ATH this time. Share your opinion.

Once after the bull market of 2017, altcoins started to bounce and marked great ath values. After that none of the altcoins made its ath, other than Binance coin which grew through its launch platform for more IEO. Those gave way for the growth of almost every altcoins. Once again this time there is more chance for an real altcoin Bull market. The previous one happened as a result of ICO hype.

I think the same for those alts that have taken their flight on ATH in the past, not all of them will get back. This is why I only hold notable altcoins like Ethereum and I can wait for it to hit back to ATH. It's near to the price from the past and could even go further.
I'm already in profit on it while holding it on its price of $1,200. But just as you, I'm also hoping that it will surpass the past ATH that it did.

I think last ATH was reached only because of a big hype, so many people were buying anything what they saw. For now many investors carefully choose projects to invest in, so many projects can`t get necessary demand, because there are many new projects and old ones not so interesting as some years ago. Some coins will definitely reach it sooner or later, but only that who are strong and correspond trends of 2021

The altcoins will have their time to reach ATH. I do not doubt that, but we don't know when the ATH comes. The top 50 altcoins list will have the potential to increase, and it could break the last time ATH. As you said, now things will not be the same, but the ATH will comes soon. If the ATH does not come this year, you need to have a target price sell, so when the price can increase higher, even if it's not reaching a new ATH, you can sell your coins and make a profit. These situations make people greedy because they want to make more profit, and they don't sell when the price increase, so you need to be careful, you should know when you need to sell, and the most important is don't be greedy because you don't know when the price will drops.

Nobody really knows, but I have the impression that this time everyday another coin is pumping (with or without valid reason). Look at dogecoin that suddenly doubled after 1 tweet from Elon Musk. I bought a lot of altcoins in 2017 and for most of them I am still at -30 % or more (e.g.  Stellar or EOS), so I hope that these coins also get pumped some more so I could sell these with a minimal loss.

There is still a big possibility for the top altcoins to reach the new all time high,
don't let you buy or hold the wrong altcoins,
I'm sure in the altcoin season the altcoins that will reach new ath are those that are in the top 100 coinmarketcap.

Top 10 altcoin? Yeah chances are very high for this coin to reach or established a new all time high this year. ETH also did that and most of the mare like <60% of their previous high, and we all know that once alt has it's own version of a bull run it's really hard to stop, probably top 30 will have their all time high sooner or later.

For the rest though, pump-and-dump as usual, so just be careful with those projects. And probably most of the money are lock in this whole new Defi hype.

It us depend in what alt you refer to. Good altcoin with good use cases and development will reach its ATH again VS Dollar, but maybe not VS bitcoin. But it will need time to reach it again. For example ethereum : it is not reaching its ATL againts bitcoin but when bitcoin goes high again ethereum will worth arround $1300-$1500 againts dollar.

It all depends on which alts are you talking. The majority of shitcoins are dead and they will never rich 1/10 of ATH. Others from CMC top still have good chances to see ATH or something like it

I believe what will happen on altcoins will be the same as what happened last 2017-2018 altcoin season which Ethereum will first make the move and some other large market cap, the more Bitcoin stays sideways or neutral, altcoins are making their move.
These past few months and years after the altcoin season last 2018, altcoin behavior become: If Bitcoin pump, alts are dumping, if Bitcoin dumping altcoins too. But let's see what will happen these coming weeks & months.

It's a different story today January 17, all DeFi projects have surge up big time, Chainlink, Polkadot, Aave are now more bullish than before, all I can say is we should try to hold useful altcoins only, shitcoins will always be shitcoins and people won't invest their money on such coins

It is difficult to say if they will reach a new ATH in future. But this can be said with a lot of confidence that majority of altcoin projects are failures or abandoned by its devs or just sold off to someone else who pumped and dumped its tokens and left.

If you have been following the top50, I would say you have been very lenient and magnanimous with altcoins. I dont care to even look beyond the top10 excepting the forked coins and centralized coins. Because they are not worth your attention or money.

Altcoins ride the waves secondary to bitcoin and they are never making any progress of their own. The only point I can still find out worth being plus for them is a lower transaction fee when bitcoin gets congested. Merchants dont go with anything beyond LTC, DOGE or ETH.

It does not make any sense holding anything else for long term. Sell them when you get profit and move to other sectors of investment not just crypto.

You'd be surprised what people invest in. Shitcoins will be invested in, this cannot be stopped.  True fomo has not hit the public yet, the current Bitcoin run has been artificially pumped by institutions,  once the real FOMO sets in by the retail investors then altcoin market will flourish again. You see, people this time around are a little shell-shocked from the previous bear market, a lot of them holding the bags still. But once the alts get cooking and  bag holders gain that confidence human nature will kick in and they will buy more which will result in huge alt coin spikes. And when that happens bear market will be around the corner.

Those who should be worried about ATH are those who bought this altcoins at ATH, 52 weeks ago Nano goes down to 0.28$, do you buy then? ATH doesn't or shouldn't matter much to people honestly, what should matter is when you buy yours, it's why buying low and selling high should be everyone's target

As I understand, things move like this in the market: First, the money in the altcoins is headed into BTC and it comes to a certain position. Later, BTC stabilizes and some of the money is directed to the altcoin. If you remember, altcoins reached the new ATH after the new best price of the king in 2017. Therefore, I guess the new ATH will trigger something this time too. Even if there is no new ATH, there will be a good increase.

Ethereum could continue appreciating and get to the ATH this year, if you're holding Eth as part of the altcoins you bought, then hodling till ATH can be said to be a good investment, cause ethereum has a strong community of investors, and mind you that the said community will continue to grow, even in this year, and that'll take the price to new heights.

Having said that, I can't say the same of other altcoins, I know Polkadot for example is doing good, though I've personally not bought any polkadot token (I'm only using it as an example), but can you trust polkadot to continue appreciating? I don't think so; with Altcoins, the best strategy is to pull out when you have gotten returns on your investment; and like you said, you already have, so the time could be right to sell and maybe hold only Ethereum, that's if you have it as part of your stash.

Although we do not know if the ATH for altcoin will come, I believe altcoin will have ATH again as we saw in 2017-2018.
But unfortunately, we do not have a list for which altcoin will increase, and we can only guess and hope that our altcoin can increase later.
Besides that, it is difficult to know which altcoin will start the rally and make ATH because many altcoins want to raise their power and invite more investors to invest in their project.
But people still focus on bitcoin because they see the opportunity to make a bigger profit on the bitcoin, so they do not want to miss that.

In my own opinion, the bull run which brought Bitcoin to a new ATH was enough to bring some altcoins to their ATH but it wasn't actualized, that is to say, altcoins might find it hard reaching their ATH because now the attention looks like it is dropping. Also, from another perspective, the crypto space can't be predicted and Bitcoin on the other hand, seems to be getting all the whole attention from investors and platforms, that is it say, there is every tendency it will grow even more and of course altcoins will gradually grow with it, but reaching their ATH, will still look hard to get. To be frank, if i were you and I am in good profit, I would sell rather than waiting for the ATH, because from every indications, the market growth so far is entirely different from that of 2018, but if you are ready to hold for long term for coins like ETH, then there is every possiblity it will reach its ATH since ETH 2.0 is still in vogue.

I think altcoin can still reach its ATH price or even create a new ATH price, but not all altcoin can do it now, because in my opinion for now only altcoin that have progress and useful project that can reach its ATH price or even create a new ATH price, so for now my advice is that we better invest in altcoin that have a good product and always have progress, because it's more profitable for us and has a small risk to make our investment loss.
