Can some of the bright minds who brought us the cryptocurrency start another revolution?  I'm all for curbing hate speech but they are now starting to censor narratives that don't fit their social and political agendas, and stifle free speech.  Can we design a P2P social media that they can't control and they can't shut down?

Yeah! That would be a good idea but then, but I'm thinking there are already laid down rules about starting these such as this and the countries for which the apps might be operation which would make it difficult for operation and recognition.

as long as the internet is under their control it will be difficult to make pure decentralized social media...
I read in the news that Donald Trump is the first president to be banned from all social media, for me that is a mistake because after all Trump is free to speak and argue even though the majority do not like his opinion. democracy is dying.

Satoshi won't come back and that's the reality. There were tries that those project makers did about having a decentralized social media but it didn't do good.

Not sure this is going to be a big revolution. The thing with social media is that you can reach almost everybody. There are billions of users on Facebook or Instagram. Now Facebook is even taking data out of WhatsApp. The reach of these companies is so large and is likely not going to decline any time soon.

I think we are in the new revolution in financial now. We are transformed from the paper money into digital money, thanks to coronavirus, which makes the thing start. Cryptocurrency is part of the revolution now. Many people realize the existing of the cryptocurrency. Many of them now realize that cryptocurrency can help them to make money in this pandemic. We will not see the same thing again, but the other new revolution will happen in the future.

actually facebook and other social networks steal our private data and censorship is on the agenda, in fact we would need a blockchain-based social network that cannot be obscured and censored, a timid attempt already was done with murmur an app for android
