I believe that this is just the beginning, people learned that if they want to invest into the future profits they have to invest today to reap the benefits of few years down the line, buying today to make a profit tomorrow doesn't exists that much, but if you buy now and wait 3 years you know you are going to make at least 5x profit, even with these high prices but they started around 1k price (some started even earlier than that).

So long story short we are talking about ethereum to be quite high, and not even 2x, but we are also considering that not to be today or tomorrow, it may take a lot of years, however it will happen. When everything is settled, having a long term profitable investment is what we should be looking for, not quick let's make money today type of thing, which is why I believe we should definitely look at ethereum a lot more closely.

You have made a good decision 2 weeks ago, the price did dropped but now its over 1.8k and its going very strong. In fact I think 2k is not ambitious enough for ethereum price neither, I think at least 3 or even 4 thousand dollars could be reached, it will take a while and it will be difficult to reach there, but I think it could be done.

This is why I think it is going to be amazing for all of us to hold our ethereum, when we hold it the price can't drop too much, if everyone holds their ethereum that means there is no sell and price would keep going up but we know not everyone can hold, yet we can at least make sure that as many people as possible could hold. Ethereum is completely bullish at this moment so might be break all out thoughts and hit $5K. Clearly it's unsafe to contribute as well, so just contribute you can stand to lose. For ETH $2k is reachable, then there will be dip for correction little bit before it's going excessively high.

The upgrade of the ethereum blockchain to proof of stake has just been completed about 45 minutes ago and they confirm it has been successful with having it first block mined via this method just half an hour ago.

Price has not gone up nor down.
So it looks like the merge was just a seamless transition for the next step in it's evolution to be what business use for their smart contracts.
Just as the developers had planned it to do all along and without any issues.

I believe ETH will finally break free of Bitcoin influence in term of market price, but not so soon, and not because of this merge. Bitcoin has been leading too far in term of adoption, and if Ethereum want to totally free from Bitcoin Influence it will need the mass mainstream adoption, just like Bitcoin.

People are expecting too much during the bearish market which is a non sense thing for now. I guess let's see the fact in the market. It was not moving anywhere. People are always care with the trend in the market rather than hype news like that. The hype for ethereum already gone. Merged gives nothing rather than a long term impact. It seems like that world economic has been starting to recover but crypto was going down like there's no bottom on it. Bitcoin has been triggering so many tokens to be dumped.
This is the worst thing to bet in ethereum. Im sure that if you aware with the crypto cycle and a prediction like that was a baseless prediction.

The transition from POW to POS will make big changes in the market of ethereum. We used to experience a market pattern of bitcoin with ethereum in the previous days. In the falling days this can vary and the market movement following bitcoin too can vary. The price of ethereum is set to grow big against so many predictions. For now ethereum won't make a big move at the shortest. It requires time to make a large move of $2000+
