The address is the easyest.... In the request tab, you should find the uri, but not everybody will be able to use this uri, so the address is easyer.

By the way, don't make a poll to ask a basic question.

Depends on your preferred method since you can actually do both.

You can just go to Menu -->  View --> Show addresses in order for you to see all the list of address that is generated from your wallet. Or you an just click the "Receive" button on the receiving tab which will automatically choose an address from your generated addresses that is still not used in a transaction.

Why not just go to the addresses tab instead of using the receiving tab like the above said.
To make it clear you can use this below as your reference



Now you can just right-click the address that you want to use and copy>address and give that to someone who asks with your address.

If you are on your mobile then just copy the address from the request tab or can scan the QR code from the sender's wallet.

Just give the address which is shown in the request tab is enough and make sure you clicked the never expire option.

In order not to create any confusion, i wanted to add that the "never expire" option is for electum's internal accounting only... Addresses do not expire, people can still fund an address even if electrum "expired" the payment request... It's just for electrum's bookkeeping, it has nothing to do with being able to use an address or not.

I thought that it is always important to set the address to never expires before requesting the amount from sender or else it may become unspendable, but thank you for making it clear.

Just did some research about the address expire now I found that it is only for BIP70 payment protocol likely useful for the merchants.

Giving out your wallet address is the best way as previously confirmed. It's just the same way you do with your local banks and account number, it serves the same purpose but then, you've got to wait until you receive BTC in your ELECTRUM WALLET or it's confirmed pay on the other party's transaction list or trade history before making payments. Pending or awaiting confirmation transactions is as good as void as it could be cancelled. So, having patience to confirm delivery is one of the best caution to exercise in P2P transactions especially when the blockchain is congested.

Exactly. Although most desktop/mobile wallets support URIs, web wallet, exchange and other online services do not.
If the person who is going to send you the coins uses one of those services and he doesn't know how to read an URI and how to extract the address from it, then just send him the address.
