It was 9 years ago when a TV show, The Good Wife has dedicated an entire episode, aptly titled: Bitcoin for dummies. I think its one of the best exposure of bitcoin to people around the US and the globe. I think the price is around $5.00 when they aired this show.

Looking back, bitcoin really took off in the last 9 years and if someone have seen this show back then and was 'inspired' to invest, then obviously, they are now self made millionaires.

Probably those who have seen this episode might have bought bitcoin or not. Really hard to say, although those who took that chances that time could have been out in 2017, and still make money. But I would say that it is a good exposure to bitcoin that time and yeah looking back we really made a big stride as far as the price goes and adoption.

Bitcoin was already popping back then, and those who were able to buy during this time are multi-millionaires now, provided that they held on to whatever coins they may have bought at the time when this show was aired. I'm fairly certain only a few people actually took the time to research and invest about bitcoin back then, and took the risk associated. Now, they're the ones reaping the rewards and telling people to invest because that's the greatest thing that happened to them.

Also, it's interesting and shocking that 2012 was already 9 years ago. Time really does fly so fast.

No doubt that those curious enough have made some dough back then but I don't think that they are millionaires because they did not know it back then but the first price spike is not the last time that bitcoin market will do it. The exposure of bitcoin from this show is not that adequate in my opinion because this seems to me, is not that good of a show that will attract that much audiences. I am basing my claim that it is not a good show by my own standard and its popularity in my country and the Internet.

No need to assume, there are definitely some errors, cinema and television industry always do that to prevent a possibility of people trying to imitate the things that are presented in the shows.

Those who understand that time should have bought bitcoin at a cheap price, and it's interesting that this is already included in History of bitcoin.

So I would say that it has a big impact, but the effect was felt soon after and bitcoin becomes a buzz word. Probably it was a positive exposure for bitcoin back then. And again, those who really understood what bitcoin can bring have hoop in the bandwagon, early bag holders that could have made them a lot of money either in 2017's all time high or in 2021. Just 9 years of holding and you could be set for life.

Like you rightly said looking back nine years ago to that show at that rate a good lot of people who invested then will have made it. A lot of investment opportunities everywhere but is only those who have the right mindset and are risk-takers will venture into what they have never seen anybody make a profit out of it.

Certainly, we don't know those who watched this episode in the year 2012 bought bitcoin or not. Probably the episode about bitcoin would be the best exposure for bitcoin at that time I can say. Those who trust bitcoin that time and hold to date are millionaires now. In my opinion those who are still trusting BTC now and holding it for the future will also be happy.

I quite liked the show and I watched all the seasons. I especially liked Julianna Margulies (Alicia Florrick) and I think the fact that Ridley Scott was a producer made the series exciting.

They tried to make a continuation of it (The Good Fight) but without Julianna Margulies or Ridley Scott and I didn't like it.

This is really the infancy of bitcoin, they mentioned p2p, mine, cryptographer, Japanese inventor so pretty close and it means that bitcoin hasn't change it's just how people perceived it in the last 9 years since this episode aired (micro-payment, money, store of value, investment instrument, hedge by big companies etc). Bitcoin's narrative might evolved again but the basic still remains the same.

Still depends because even those people who had seen this one but still havent made any actions then they do still miss out that golden opportunity and now
might still be regretting that they should have at least bought bitcoin on that time.

For those who risked up then they are the ones who do make out significant money until this very moment or even on earlier years where bitcoins price

We cant predict the future and we can just tell that theyre lucky because bitcoin had able to climb up this high.

I think it is time to make a good movie about Bitcoin. It has everything to be a success and it could inspire new investors to invest.

The theme is great. Inspired by real events, Satoshi mystery, intrigue, greed, government problems, poverty, wealth, power, New York Stock Exchange, gold, pandemic, USA, Europe, China, innovation, technology, money disruption, hackers. All of these elements need a good script.

With the evolution of Bitcoin, many will be realizing today that Bitcoin is not for Dummies.

Thanks for sharing. It is a good tutorial for newbies as well. I wish i read that 9 years ago. I also watched some videos on youtube, Many youtubers bagging to know & buy bitcoin without any reason. They keep saying to purchase btc at 1$ please. But most of us didn't take seriously on bitcoin value. Now people keep saying i wish i knew about btc 9 years ago. I wish blah...blah...blah.

Yeah, we can only wish that we have known bitcoin that time and at least invest when the price is still in the signal digits. But there are a lot of unknown that time, but in any case it's good to look back and the producer of the show might be a bag holder today because he allowed it to be aired and even have one episode about it.

Those tutorial or shall we shall we say x for Dummies are really good in touching the basic of Bitcoin, an eye opener.

That was one of the great histories of Bitcoin and these guys have contributed a lot since then. the fruit of their dedication has been paid off today and the best thing is, their deeds still earning some praises until today. Just like the Pizza incident these guys also have some pages dedicated to them in the history of bitcoin. We too can do that, if we work together to promote it to others by educating them on the right bitcoins, not the one they heard from a Ponzi scheme site, we will also have some memories to share after some years from now.

How cheap bitcoin was then. people still don't know much about bitcoin and this film explains bitcoin in detail and some of the problems with it.

I just found out about this film, maybe later I will watch it. I am interested in films that tell about bitcoin.

Maybe when I watch this film right on the day it premieres I will buy it. But in 2012 I didn't know anything about bitcoin and indeed only people who were active in the stock market and internet experts understood bitcoin.
