$5k is a serious amount for a first investment. Do you already have an experience of cryptocurrency investment or it will be your first investment? I suggest to not invest whole sum in the beginning, but to invest only a part. Lets says $1k in Bitcoin and $1k in other altcoins and see how things are going and are you satisfied with the result.

Agree, don't put too much money in the beginning especially if you're just new in crypto currency or even in investing or trading. He might lose it once when the price goes down if his know that he cannot get back the money. OP needs to know the risk in investing cryptocurrency, I don't suggest investing in DEFI projects especially if you buy in Pancakeswap. There are some cases that the money will eventually lose or the system get hack you might lose your investment but not all DEFI are the same. I suggest that you should have deep researched about the project and they should have transparency and security as well. Cryptocurrency is on sale right now, we can buy at less price and wait again for the pump.

Why investing in DeFi when there's Bitcoin and Ethereum to invest. With that capital, it is enough to diversify your portfolio with a few tokens and of course, Bitcoin will have the largest portion. Bitcoin because it is more certain compared to any other altcoins which are also less risky. Now that the market was slightly down it is the best opportunity to purchase some coins because they were cheaper. I wouldn't say DeFi is not worthy of investment it is just more volatile than Bitcoin which means higher risk to take but if you think you can handle it then why not it could be profitable as well. If you are into a long term investment I suggest you hodl these altcoins: VET, DOT, BNB, LINK, AVAX and XRP but if you are just into short term investment or you are a trader I think the best altcoins for you is the NFTs because that is the trend of the market this year.

I agree with you. I think also that the Bitcoin is the safest option now. Of course, it is volatile like others but we know how much sensible to HODL BTC. It's the best thing to do for making a great deal of profit in the long run.
