Sync your blockchain easily!

Agree that it is not needed and probably a waste.

Back in the day (2013 / 2014 / 2015?) there were a few people who were posting the entire chain for people to download instead of doing the initial sync. Back when it was just a few GB.
Now, with minimal hardware and a few tweaks to the conf file it's not going to be much of a difference for most people to download it this way vs just doing their initial sync.

Is there a risk of malware, yes but probably not much.
Is there a risk of getting something corrupted and then wasting more bandwidth and time because your download was munged and then you had to do it again. Yes.

Just not worth it.

Truth is , services like http://cryptochainer.com/dir/  have been around for years, with no issues.
But anyone offer something similar for bitcoin and the bitcoin cult comes out against in force.  

Considering this so called dev and tech forum shoot down any ideas that would actually improve the user experience,
should this forum not be renamed to the Greg Maxwell & cult following says you can't forum.
That would be alot more accurate, that will be my last post here, to avoid the locking topic finger Gmax reserves for when I make his cult look stupid.

It’s not what gmaxwell regurgitates, it’s actually the point of what, and how to use Bitcoin. Don’t trust, verify. Remember?

That’s up to you if you trust that website, but syncing and validating yourself is better, and technically the proper way.

Truth is, you don't know what you are talking about.

Besides shilling bullshit (probably because you weren't intelligent enough to invest in BTC when you had the chance to), all of your arguments are based on nothing more than hot air.

I doubt a lot of user use that garbage. And even if, that is not the point.
The point is that you are trusting a 3rd party for no good reason. There are close to zero upsides, but a lot of downsides with this method.

Improving the user experience by... downloading files, moving them into the correct folder, overwriting other stuff, starting up the software just to see that you need "reindex", google what this means and fix the issue.
As opposed to simply.. starting up the software and let it sync itself.

Where is the improved user expierence, please?
It is marginally faster, if at all. So what other upsides does it have?
The downsides (security-, privacy- and integrity issues) are more than obvious.

I'm actually sharing 5 files, and all the messages here are targeted to the blocks files.
As I said, trust them or not, but these files are actually useful for my daily job and to sync my bitcoin-core nodes. If it's useful to someone else it's nice.

I was asking what can I improve, what can I add, what is missing and what would be appreciated.

Thank you, but it’s more preferable to verify everything for themselves, without trusting anyone through Initial Block Download, especially for newbies.

Nothing. Continue to host the files, and if you’re truly a trust-worthy person, then maybe your site will become the unofficial default for downloading the blockchain for bootstrapping. Bitcoiners are cynics by nature. Earn the trust.
