Just picked up an Asus GTX 1080, thought I would be able to get 40+ MH/s mining Ethereum, however can only seem to get about 26. Core is set to +99, Memory is set to +950. Thoughts?

I just have it pointed to NiceHash currently on Windows. I’m curious what others are getting for hashrate out of this card. Maybe 26 MH/s is tops? If that’s the case the NiceHash profitability calculator lied to me lol.

You need the ETH pill to improve your hashrate for that card but why gtx 1080? Because I'm sure the price will be high and a RX580 with 8gb video memory performance is more like gtx1080 when mining Ethereum, anyways the choice is yours

You cant get 40MH mining ETH just 35MH maximum. If you want 40MH - try to mine ETC. If you want profit - mine ETH with 30-35MH with a "OhGodAnETHlargementpill" - google it by yourself. At windows miners it can be in miner packs, at Unix based mining OS - it`s powering on in flight sheets.

Hive OS
core +50
Memory + 900-1000
PL 170
Miner: Ethniner  -34.7 MH

if you don't want to use OhGodAnETHlargementPill-r2 then try this option

PhoenixMiner
Code:
PhoenixMiner.exe ssl://eu1.ethermine.org:5555 -wal 0xxxxx -worker xxxx -epsw x -mode 1 -powlim -20 -tt -85 -tmax 85
-cclock +100 -mclock +600 -straps 5 -ftime 55 -nvNew 1 -Rmode 1 -log 0 -mport 0 -etha 0 -retrydelay 1 -coin eth

-straps 5  this is the most important parameter.

No one need a pill, use T-rex or nbminer.

Try to use other miner like T-rex and I suggest you switch to HiveOS and use Ether pill instead to Improve the hashrate of this card.

Or if you are in windows OS you can try to use ether pill to improve your hashrate.

Comments:

1) You should get 39 to 41 with the 1080 ti card at maximum efficiency.

2) there are 3 pill options, they are all about the same:

a) ogodanETHenlargementpill.exe (Be careful with this one because there are virus infected versions)

b) T-REX Use the -mt 5 setting use the latest 0.19 version

c) PHX 5.5D MUST USE the -straps option. I use 5.

3a) setup:  50/100/-501 to 54/125/-501  As far as I know this is the best efficiency settings (about 150W per card)

3b)   You can run this card full out (100/0/0) and reach 70 BUT the card runs very very hot. This is the Scandinavian option  Cheesy  where you have cheap hydro power and it's zero C in the summer. Requires serious thermal engineering on the users part.

4) Use a large swap file.

5) This card is also has a lot of flexibility and can decently mine a lot of coins.

6) You may have to play around with the dag loading.

Appendix:

a) Memory tweak mode (default: 0 - disabled). Range from 0 to 6. General recommendation
is to start with 1, and then increase only if the GPU is stable.
The effect is similar to that of ETHlargementPill.

Supported on graphics cards with GDDR5 or GDDR5X memory only.

I got same 2 cards as yours.. Gigabyte GTX 1080 8GB mining at 22.77 , but I am so new in this that i even do not know how setup cards in RaveOS so that they mine some 30.50 MH/s

Can someone tell me what numbers to put in this RaveOS fields

You don't need the ETHPILL anymore with PhoenixMiner v5.5c. Using -straps 2 in the config does the same thing. I get ~36 MH/s with a MSI GTX 1080 on Windows 10 20H2 Nvidia GeForce 461.72 Driver. Also try increasing the -vmr setting to see if it increases your hash rate.

MSI Afterburner Overclock Settings:

Code:
MSI Gaming X 8G GTX 1080 -

65% Power Limit
+100 Core
+700 Memory
92 Temp Limit
85% Fan Speed

I have a guestion and I'm feeling completely noob. I have problems to use -mt parameter. Where do you add it.

I tried to find instruction from google and so far no luck. Maybe I'm just tired and did something wrong XD.

on the text file or the bat file just put it on the end inside the bat where your pool and wallet address is save.
Or make your own bat file and copy sample from their github here https://github.com/trexminer/T-Rex  and then paste or add -mt at the end. Then save it as a .bat file and run. Make sure the bat file is in inside the ttrex folder.

Solving blocks can't be solved without my rigs.

Thank you for fast answer. I tried adding in the and -mt and also --mt with and without values (1-5). Then I try to start T-Rex and it gives me error with red text. Error says "parse error".

What is your VRAM vendor? I find that using Micron memory, you need to DOWNCLOCK GDDR5X memory to get a good result. For example, I have 2 GTX 1080 Ti cards, 1 has Micron VRAM, the other has Hynix.

To check download GPU-Z (from here: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/) and check the "Memory Type" section, it should say "GDDR5X ([brand])" with your VRAM manufacturer in the brackets.

For my Micron card my settings are: +175 core, but - (minus) 300 memory that produces 44.1 MH/s on a 24hr average running at a 68% power limit.
For my Hynix card my settings are: +100 core and +700 memory that produces 42.7 MH/s on a 24hr average running at a 65% power limit.

Keep in mind that because of silicon lottery, don't blindly copy these settings and of course, your mileage WILL vary, even if you had a 1080 Ti. It was also rumoured that Samsung would also produce GDDR5X VRAM for Nvidia in limited numbers just before the RTX launch, so again, you might have a different memory manufacturer altogether. General rule of thumb though, if your GDDR5X card was produced early after the launch of the 10 series, you will likely have Micron because at first, Micron was the only manufacturer of GDDR5X for Nvidia.

Also note that, because of architectural constraints of Pascal, don't downclock the core as you would on more modern Nvidia cards.

Note that I used 'OhGodanEthlargement' though as others have warned, be aware that some are infected by malware, I grabbed mine from a trusted friend so can't provide a link to a safe version.

Looks like my Asus Strix has GDDR5X memories from micron. So this lottery ticket didn't win. I don't have 'OhGodanEthlargement' installed. Trying to avoid malware because this is my work computer too. I was hoping that I could have a bit more than 25M Hash/s.

Does HiveOs (or some another mining os) have pill ready installed or similar solution. I could  make on dedicated mining rig and move 1080 there. There is error code in picture where I have adden --mt parameter in start.

https://i.postimg.cc/T2pkvYN6/T-Rex-error.jpg

Usually I'm able to figure things out but this time I'm facing some problems with it Smiley
