Is it advisable to use thermal pads on graphic cards memory chip to reduce heat? Have anyone tried this on any of their graphic cards before? I read online that this can be done on GPUs that have high temp, any idea about this?

Yes thermal pads works, you just have to cut them to the size of the chips after removing the card fan, it works very well, I was forced to use such on a yeston RX5700xt I got because its temp was too damn high and it fix the issue

Thermal grizzly pads are the best and if you still have high temp issue I suggest considering a liquid/water cooling for the graphic card, they are for sell on amazon or ebay but the thermal pads should work, I have also seen some using aluminum heat sink module too

I suggest you to watch some videos about thermal pads replacement on GPUs, like this, total related to mining:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rH3Oavi-0OE

Usually, manufacturers, didn't put the best thermal pad on their projects, and you can make significants improvements changing the thermal pad, and the thermal paste too
You'll reduce temps on memory for sure, but you have to use good pads, like Gelid for example

It's important to know the thickness to use in each card, if you put wrong one, you can make things worse, and another thing to consider, you'll probably lose the warranty of your card

You have to be careful not to leave any bumps under thermal pads when you apply them to anything because the more there are, the less heat can transfer out at once so temperatures will be higher than if you are able to lay it perfectly.

Pads with small thicknesses like 0.5mm will absorb the most heat out of GPUs but you need to find one that fits yours. What model are you trying to apply it on?

my friend there is 2 things inside 1 Thermal paste and 2 thermal pad.
Thermal paste for gpu and thermal pads for memory and for mosfets. Usually vendors use high end thermal pads and paste. if the card is old like 4-5 years then it better to replace them because they get dry after 24/7 mining.
For new rtx3000 series it is problem because people pushing cards to much then looking for new high conductive pads and pastes.
If you replace with very good quality pads ofcourse your memory and mosfets will cooled better.
