If we take into account the fact that we are in the year after halving, and if we look at history - it would be quite realistic to expect Bitcoin to explode again this time - and if that happens, $50 000 is a very modest figure if we know that during 2017 the price went up as much as 20 times. What makes a significant difference now is the great interest from institutional investors, who seem to be betting on Bitcoin as a long-term investment.

The pandemic will certainly not end this year, we are far from getting all people vaccinated - but this should not be seen as the main reason why Bitcoin is becoming more valuable. This whole situation has actually benefited those who have a surplus of money, to the detriment of those who do not even have enough for basic living needs. The average Joe found himself out of work and bankrupt, selling everything he had, including BTC - the big players bought and locked coins in custodial cold wallets - with a lot of coins change hands in a direction that is not very good in the long run.

It is never too late for long-term investments, although it is far more profitable to do such things in the time of the bear market - and in the past 3 years there have been opportunities to buy BTC at prices below $5000 on several occasions.

Exactly. As long as the pandemic is still relevant, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will only go higher in price. It seems to me that people are starting to realize Bitcoin's benefits over traditional Fiat. Deflation is key to maintaining the value of the currency in question. The more governments print money, the higher the inflation will be. This translates into higher prices for Bitcoin, giving its "hodlers" greater purchasing power. If the trend continues, we could easily see Bitcoin reach $50k or more by the end of the year.

Nonetheless, no one knows what direction Bitcoin's prices will head to. Everything is just pure speculation. At least, institutional investors are joining the game. But the crypto market is still small compared to the traditional stock market. Maybe in the future, Bitcoin will be able to surpass Gold's market cap? Bitcoin could easily hit $100k if this happens. As long as you buy low and sell high, you'll be able to reap the rewards in a highly-volatile crypto market. It's all about playing your cards right in order to stay ahead of the game. yes, you better buy Bitcoin right now, because I'm sure the price of Bitcoin will reach $50k this year, but if the price of Bitcoin doesn't reach $50k and you've bought Bitcoin, then you just need to be patient and hold your Bitcoin, because I believe the price of Bitcoin will definitely increase and give you a big profit, even I am sure if in the future the price of Bitcoin can reach $80k or more than that, because Bitcoin has become a popular investment and is in demand by many people to be a long-term investment, therefore I believe the price of Bitcoin will continue to increase very high.

It depends on someone's priority right now, whether he can invest in btc for long term or short term.

I agree. 50K for Bitcoin by the end of the year is a given. This is why you need to decide if you can afford to buy now when BTC is lingering around 30K before it reaches yet another milestone. Obviously this depends on case by case, but if you can then you'd be sorry not buying in now.

In my own opinion, Bitcoin price reaching $50k depends solely on the demand, back in 2017, the demand for Bitcoin was at average level and while it took Bitcoin to hit the new ATH of $40k in three years, on the other hand, in 2020 the demand for Bitcoin had increased approximately to 80% and are mostly demanded by new investors and  industrial and institutional companies in large quantities as well. However, having said that, I think the Bitcoin price will take not less than 6 months to reach new ATH of above $50k+ in the year 2021.

Its pretty hard to tell because Bitcoin is in for a consolidation period. The price could either change to the downside and everyone is saying Bitcoin already top and now heading towards a bearish trend. Although this is only short term, even though we might go down to $20k we're still in a macro trend, so long term we are still bullish. My strategy is accumulate and hold for a long term while buying the dips.

Forget about $20K, I don't even expect the prices to go below $30,000. The demographic profile of the investors have changed, with the influx of institutions. On top of that, many of the users who did panic selling back in 2018 have now learned from their mistake. A major correction, such as the one happened in 2018 is not going to repeat anytime soon. I am expecting the next bull run in the next few weeks, which should take Bitcoin beyond the $50K level, or even to six-digit prices.

We are only at the 2nd month of the year but it already reach $40K+ and it is still at $34K so if things would work well it could even reach higher than $50K for sure.
But nobody could really tell if it would hit it by the end of this year what if it maintain the price as it is for the whole year I mean it would get pump sometimes but it would also drop down or what if it goes down low again.

In my opinion, bitcoin will hit 50k in spring, maybe even at the end of February. By the end of 2021, the price should cross the threshold of 100k. So I'm sure that 2021 will be the year of bitcoin and a lot is waiting for us. I'm really exciting!!!

Same here, 2021 will be the peak, what we have seen late 2020 is just the start of the eventual bull run this year. So it will take some time to reach $50k but definitely we are in the right direction. Of course there will be a lot of bumps, going to be a lot of test along the way. But $50k is doable this year, we might surpassed it in the first quarter alone of this year.

Well from the price range of $30-$32k it is now ranging around $36k this only implies that the rally was not yet over. We are now closer to reach the $40 once again, a little more push for big investors and we might see a new ATH once again. With the current performance of Bitcoin, I would say yes we can definitely hit $50k but not sure what exactly the time though, I am speculating that it could happen at the end of the 1st quarter of the year. I also believed that 2021 is the best time for Bitcoin as a lot of big and prominent investors are now venturing into this market.

Every halving Bitcoin always made an impact in the market, Bitcoin is attainable, after the halving last year things turned out really better, we have big institutions and big personalities involved in Cryptocurrency, $50,000 is not only attainable it can even reach $60,000, there will be a month here where Bitcoin will make a big pump, and it's something that it's about to happen, all the elements are all here.
