Polkadot or Binance Smart Chain?

There's been a lot of hype surrounding Polkadot these days. The alternative smart contract platform is definitely faster and cheaper to use than Ethereum itself. It's already within the top ranks in market cap. Yet, people have forgotten about Binance Smart Chain these days. This smart contract platform is as cheap and fast as Polkadot (someone correct me if I'm wrong), serving as a great alternative to the Ethereum blockchain. What these platforms lack is a solid number of dApps to overcome Ethereum. There doesn't seem to be any indication that developers are going to build new and exciting dApps on both chains. As long as Ethereum has the most dApps and tokens, its rivals won't be able to stand a chance against it.

Now the question is, which of the aforementioned platforms is better? AFAIK, Binance Smart Chain (powered by BNB) has a greater level of centralization than Polkadot itself. This should make the latter platform a much better choice for everyday people. Still, there's potential for BNB as it could attract businesses and companies in the mainstream world. Which will survive in the long run, is an excellent question. Thoughts?

I will chose POLKA for sure consider the development of polka is not really centralized like BSC. BSC is fully centralized caused by it's fully controlled by binance.
POLKA is almost the same as ethereum. The ethereum supporters are also supporting polka right now.

The POLKA ecosystem is getting bigger from time to the time. That's why some people called that polka can be a serious competitor for ethereum. POLKA and BSC have the same chance to attract the companies.

You know the superiority of one platform over another sometimes doesn't matter. As long as developers keep building on, let's say, ETH, these platforms only stand as niche. That said, BSC has existing projects, and only 20s have volume. This is a chain backed by the king "Binance."

Polkadot seems "untested" at the moment, and they will have a bigger challenge than BNB.

POS (or anything that involves staking) = centralized, end of story.

At the end its all about user base and money. And binance is king of both. They generate like $1 B in profit just in Q4 2020. It will be $2B in Q1 2021. CZ once asked during interview -aren't you scared that one day someone will come with better product? He answered... I hope we will buy him and merge before he will grow.

Crypto is also open source. There is nothing that could stop BNB to copy polkadot code and open binance smart chain v2 (v1 is compatible with etherum, v2 could be with DOT if DOT will grow big enough).

IMO BNB should be nr. 3 CMC and sooner or later we will see it there.

Im agree with this, binance already take place for the top exchange, dont make it too centralized, we need some spread of crypto strength.

Polkadot is not fully launched while binance smart chain many coin use it. Bsc smart contract is good i personally using it and waiting for polkadot to be release.
Many people vsay that polkadot will bring a great network than bsc smart chain.

I will choose polkadot then BSC, because of the developer if BSC is gavin wood. And the uses case for DeFi is more in polkadot then BSC. It will take time to create fulky functional system but dot will made it in the end.

both are equally good, I'm hard to choose. but in real use case, binance chain is superior because they have many dapps active. while Polkadot has only a few projects. Binance Chain also has DEX, we are familiar with BSCSwap. so in terms of binance chain support is better.

But Polkadot cannot be underestimated, because currently DOT is ranked fourth with the largest market cap even though it hasn't been a year since their network was launched. that means their progress is pretty good, and there are a lot of people who support this project. You know support is important because without loyal supporters it's hard to survive. just look at the current XRP, if they don't have loyal supporters maybe by now the project is dead.

so if asked to choose one of these two projects, I better choose both. because DOT and BNB are just as profitable and worth investing in.

That could be the main reason why there are lots of people have been betting on POLKA. gavin wood is the reason why polka was doing good.
We know that gaving is also in the same team with vitalik butterin when ethereum was created in the past.

Binance is offering useful product but polka has a bigger ecosystem compared with binance. We are seeing so many new platforms joined in polkadot ecosystem.
That could be a big bet to be the best alternative chain for ethereum.

I believe on this aspect as well. It is how you market your features to the public. Even if you have cutting edge technology but people are hesitant to use it because they are not comfortable with it, you are still defeated in terms of adoption. People should see it as user friendly and not too complicated to understand. Some users are hesitant to use other networks because of the fear that they may lose their funds along the way. And what I am seeing as advantage for Binance is that they have large user base already and from time to time they airdrop their traders like the latest regarding TWT tokens.

Have you forgotten that every altcoin coming trying to kill ethereum smart contract fails at one way or the other, I could remember when when Neo, cosmos came and everyone thought those could kill ethereum, Binance smart chain is also a versatile one that's somewhat fast and speedy in the transactions so as long Binance wants other erc20 transactions to go in that chain as well as a staking mechanism for BNB token.
On the other hand polkadot has a significant alternative competition to ethereum smart contract thereby allowing users to create their own blockchain meanwhile different companies will consider choosing polkadot, and because of that, I choose polkadot over Binance smart chain.

If anyone want to go with the hypes of alternative smart contract blockchain which have more advantages from ethereum, than go for BSC. It's just about hype as more and more pumping projects are growing in BSC community. Also, polkadot is just on track to hype as everyone knows what's going on and how much potentials polkadot has.

Aside from eth smart contract I think the rest of them only have a name and nothing more, developers are suppose to be patronising this alternative and cheap smart contract more instead of killing themselves on eth network but unfortunately that hasn't happened,  hopefully this behaviour will change.

Polkadot... don't even have to take time to think about it.
BSC is ok-ish, but when they had an influx of some 20k people massing over DEGO NFT-s, the whole system broke. So take that as you wish

In my opinion, both projects are great to invest in, the only issue with the Binance chain is that it is more centralized than polka dot. The good thing about the Binance chain is that it is backed by one of the biggest cryptocurrency exchange. But, I have not seen any successful projects on the Binance chain whereas on Polkadot there have been few projects that have been successful. So, if I investing then I will equally invest in both the projects and hold them for long term.

Name project that is successful on polkadot. I can name one that is successful on BSC - its pancake swap, TOP 7 biggest DEX, top 114 token.

I think centralization is always a turn off or disadvantage when it comes to comparing most platforms with that of Binance in whichever way, that is, everything from Binance in many cases comes with huge centralization, such as its DEX, etc and that will always keep people at bay. But yet, talking about smart contracts and how needful it ought to be as decentralized as possible, then one will uphold the Ethereum blockchain, and probably that's one of the reason it keeps growing and keeping a competitive advantage. However, comparing Polkadot and Binance smart chain, I find Polkadot better because of its high rate of decentralization and that alone is an addition and considering the fact the platform is still being developed, that is to say, when more services and features have been put in place, it will be far better than Binance smart chain which has been around before it. Nevertheless, let's keep our fingers crossed and watch what Polkadot will achieve in the next few months and if the team continues working hard, they will attract a lot of users and projects and if they don't, Binance smart chain will take over.

Although not as expected, but I think Binance Smart Chain and Polkadot are good, both my investments in it are very profitable. Personally, I still prefer polkadot because they are very active in this market, and I think it will be in 3rd place soon, and I think it is well worth the moment this.

I think both platforms are good and promising, But if we choose only one, I prepare to pick the Binance smart Chain or BSC, Because it's a user-friendly platform and one of the cheapest transaction fees compared to many others especially Etherum including PolkaDot thats why BSC is more attractive compared to Polkadot and many others.
