If I tell about me then I will invest on Tron (Trx). At this time it is one of the popular crypto all over the world. It is on the good position on market. Hopefully within next few years, TRX will be more valuable asset.

In a mid-term it is better to buy some DeFi which plan to have presence in another blockchains (e.g. Tezos). ETH's most disadvantage is low TPS and high fees. I don't think that Eth-devs will manage to solve it in a proper way. So there must be an alternative. Like FLOW or polkadot

Nowadays bitcoin and ethereum are already high in price, but you can invest in bitcoin and ethereum. If you want to wait for the price to go down a little,
it can too. But it looks like, if it’s a correction, it won’t go down too much. Perhaps for other coin alternatives, you can choose ADA or Tron  or  other  top
coins that have not done a massive pump this year.

Just always remember this phrase when you are investing to DO NOT PUT IT ALL IN ONE BASKET or else, you will lose it all in one snap!
It would be great if you will be able to divide your $1000 to different projects like some of the major and some of the altcoins. Try to invest on the top 10 that Coinmarketcap has on its list.

Ofcourse try to put more on the top 1 in the cryptocurrency market which is the BTC! I mean, thats a given, just do not buy when price is pumping or like now that it is on $37,000 as correction might happen soon and may lead to your investment loss. Just watch its price, it recently even go down to $28000, seize that opportunity to buy!

The next one ofcourse is Ethereum, as you can see as days/weeks passed by, its even gaining and gaining even more but like with BTC, buy when it had its correction..

Maybe just do it like 40% BTC, 30% ETH then the other 30% could go on the other alts like $DOT and $KSM

Defi for me is suitable for the short term. if you see fluctuating price movements that make you don't want to make high speculations. but if indeed you are used to a hefty votality, if the market is experiencing a downtrend, maybe you can choose. especially Defi itself is still relatively new in the cryptocurrency market. several times when there were negative issues making the movement unstable

UNI or SUSHI. Defi is still growing, these 2 coins soon in the top 10, they have been and continue to increase strongly. 

These two platforms are showing their level of integration towards coin developments and the value of the coin is kept increasing. We need to grab these two coins whenever there is a dip in the market, we need to grab and it will surely help us to make some decent profit in the long term.

Perhaps, it is a bit late because the price is already going to increase, but you still have a chance to buy both tokens. I suggest you wait for a while until the correction comes because usually, when the correction comes, the price can down deeper than the current price. So you can buy both tokens at a low price, and the next thing you can do is to just hold for some time. But still, investing in bitcoin will be the best thing you can do because bitcoin is now up to a high price, so if you can invest a few days ago, you are making a profit now.

Anyway with rising gas costs any Swap-project suffers from the fact that small investors can not afford to pay 100$ per transaction. It has to lead the market towards another protocols like Polkadot and Tezos. The need for a scalable protocol has come to the end point. ETH is not able to solve this issue. It lies at the base of Ethereum. It is a fundamental problem.

You used the word "Insane Profit " so we are talking Huge amount here?

So the first question you need to answer is "Are you willing to Risk this in very Risky investing"? because you seems to be not contented in 10-50% income .

So if the answer is YES , then try investing in Ripple (XRP) and try to wait for years from now , the value is under 40 cents so if the case against them had finished and they verdict not guilty , then surely you'll get what you want.

@all, eth cant invest, last time in 2017 i invested in eth when it was around 1300 usd in next few days it was trading on 500 usd (no i didnt take money out for 2 years but recently i sold eth, it was small money though )  that time was insane. I am not sure why eth price is giong up though transactions are getting expensive day by day.

Also, yes i need to stop putting money in one basket which I always do. 

Probably this thread ll help other newbies like me.  All your answers were helpful

It is up to you where you want to invest. If you are thinking about investing for long term, then maybe split your investment into different coins? If I were you, I would invest most of the coins in BTC, and rest in different well known altcoins.
If you are looking for investing in one single coin, try either BTC or ETH. I have been hearing ETH is going to see a bull run anytime soon. Predictions based on charts has been made where the price seems to reach around 4,000 USD during March. But remember, these are just predictions and you should do your OWN research!

$950 on the honey badger (bitcoin) then drop $50 or 5% on some alts.  You are better off getting your stack of bitcoin up, and when you get a large enough position start toying around with some alts.  And even then I stay with some of the safer ones like litecoin if you want to diversify.  If you gamble your starting capital on flashy alts you will most likely end up like a lot of other traders...broke.  good luck to you.

So how much money left now? If ethereum is too high for you, perhaps, you can select the other coin which is not too high. You can try to analyze one by one from the top 10 or 20 to find the coin, but be careful because any coin can be the potential increase later. If for example, you now have $500, I think you can try to invest in two or three coins by investing for $200 for each coin, and you can leave $100 in your wallet, just in case if one of the coins is down so that you can repurchase it at a low price. That will depend on the strategy you will make, and if you can't trade better, I think you can just hold the coin, but you should have the potential coins.

Altcoin season is just around the corner, and there are a lot of new projects that are on the top market cap. Better if you would make research first and get the latest update and news and crypto which I think will help you choose what project will be profitable to invest in. Some projects are currently at it's ATH such as Ethereum, Polkadot and etc. It is best if you would consider this before investing, to avoid being left out at the top whenever correction happens.

I would say ethereum is a good investment right now, everyone is acting as if ethereum going over the ATH price is a proof that it is too high right now and nobody should invest into it but the reality is that we have literally seen bitcoin go from 20k to 40k very recently, isn't that proof enough for you guys to see that etheruem could go x2 above the ethereum price as well? On top of all of this we are looking at getting rid of miners excess profit with eip 1559, add that eth 2.0 meaning no more miners, and also the replacement is staking which means people will buy ethereum and hold it to make more profit.

Basically at the end of the day we are in a situation where ethereum could be as high as 5k and I wouldn't be shocked, so investing into the second biggest coin having the best year of it is life with a great future is definitely a great decision.

Save money on buying books and find these books online. At least it will teach and evolve skills of searching and doing research.
After that, seek for perspectives in every new coin or token listed on coinmarketcap or coingecko, and divide investment in these altcoins. Then just relax and wait. Anyway this is all just a lottery. Doing research will slightly change win/lose ratio to 51/49.

I see that topic starter already invested in mining hardware. I suggest him to calculate his profit and better invest that 1000$ into mining, than asking random people for advice where to his money. Because they can advice anything, they risk with nothing.

So we have the same point of view, not only for OP but even my friends when participating in this field, I advise them that, because I don't want them to make unfortunate mistakes.
