I hope you didn't motivate your close circle about investing in crypto a few years ago, there is huge potential for crypto investing rather than working for Uber company. In case of having decent experience, it is kinda possible to get more than whatever he is gonna earn on that company, IMHO. Having a job and having a passive income are two different things. No one is going to be a rich guys with paycheck, so make your own research before falling to the fake information sources.

It's now on OP's part what coins to choose. I don't recommend with a budget of $1,000, we should diversify on that number of coins. At least 2 to 3 coins are enough for me to feel the profit and good movement.

For my own selection, 50% bitcoin, 25% SOL, 25% ADA. Those altcoins should not be hold for long but to trade regularly.

Bitcoin.  I mean you can gamble on a lottery ticket in hopes of millions but you want to stack bitcoin.  All the other crap comes later when your crypto.portfolio has gotten big enough.  If there is "insane profit", then coincidentally there is an insane chance you will lose it all.  They are correlated.

You can put your funds there because a very large opportunity awaits and don't miss out on opportunities that you may not experience again. Opportunities for something like this to happen cannot be repeated in a short time, at least once every 4 years (halving).

SOL is centralize, not a good choice. IMO, DOT is an excellent project
