Dear miners, It's taken a while to find some time to organize this with work and life duties but my goal was to share this. Hope you'll be able to find some use.

What is this? Functional 3D printable exhaust capturing both hash board and power supply end for S17 series. (possibly others, unconfirmed)
What the hell? This mining community has really allowed me to develop my passion for mining over the years and in concert with that, I can in some form return this knowledge by leveraging my design and engineering skills for those running S17 series miners on air.
What miner was this design based off of? S17Pro 53TH
Project Timing: 1 month+
CAD program: NX
3D printed process/material: Duraform PA SLS glass filled Nylon with a heat deflection temperature (HDT) of 134C, also chosen for it's strength (baseplate and clips).
What other additive manufacturing processes and materials can I use? FDM: Carbon-reinforced Nylon, ASA (HDT) is 102C. SLS: 100% Nylon PA. SLA not recommended.
Outlet size? 8" for unrestricted thermal flow and common duct sizing.
Where can I see images of the process/prototypes? https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13pxwNq3i_UbBT4-HtUTQX8JJ3rYCMvaU?usp=sharing
Applications of scale:  It's scalable from apartment mining to smaller mining operations where rack space isn't at a premium.
Will it fit S19's and T17 series? It was designed for an S17Pro so to confirm I'd recommend pulling dimensions from your machine chassis and fans to reference. Screw slots on the base plate allow for adjustment room only in the Z direction
File format: .stl (x2), BASE_PLATE.stl and SHROUD.stl
Where can I download the .stl's? https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1w3BvUKmdP96TeiACywiTfjAslpd6fWGN?usp=sharing
Installation tips? The miners fan through screws don't need a lot of torque, just a soft tightening. SLS PA is one of the most robust materials to work with so cracking and shearing of the base plate from over-torquing wasn't an issue. Be careful to slide the shroud in and out parallel on-axis with the base plate clips for reasons of shearing those off. If something does break on the base plate for some reason use 2 part Plexus MA310. Or just reprint it Wink

If you have any questions about 3D printing processes or materials please feel free to leave a question. Any other questions or issues I will do my best to answer.

Whether big or small, if you at all find these parts useful or helpful, I will not say no to tips via the address in my profile. Hopefully, this can be put to good use and it would be cool to see this working for other miners, as it does for mine.

Best,
NoKeyboard-BTW

I believe some of the T17 models are very similar in size to the S17 series, or at least this is how I see them with my naked eyes.

I have seen a similar topic but the guy made a fan shroud of S9 which is basically S17 /2,  good efforts by the way, I wish you could post an image of the final product.

I believe this would work on the T17's as well but I'd want to make it absolutely certain before someone dedicates time, material, and manpower to print this. Specifically, capturing the power exhaust ports on them, depths to PSU outlet face may differ but fan mating would be ok.

This is fantastic - I've been looking for something like this for ages. Thanks for sharing!

Alternatively, I've been using a standard 4x10" boot to 6" round duct with a bit of duct-foil tape and that's been working well for me too ( https://www.homedepot.ca/product/imperial-4x10x-6-inch-universal-boot-straight/1000107433 ), however it does not cover the PSU and looks rinky-dink.

You're welcome DJsC, There were two main design criteria you touched on: catch the power outlet exhaust and let it breathe (and accept 8" ducting). Feel free to reach out here if you have any questions about anything and I'll do my best to answer.

Thanks for sharing your work.
I have a T17-40TH and downloaded the file.
I will try a print in couple of days and update you.

I printed this using PETG.

No problem! I think it's something that should be shared here with the community and believe 3D printing has a place in mining whether air or immersion. My only concern is the HDT of 73+or-C on PETG. I wouldn't be surprised if it fits though and would love to see how it turns out.

I print them for my miners now as well. except for my center rack, the other racks are along the walls of the building with the miners venting directly outside with the shroud and about a foot of ducting.

will post some pics later today of mine.

Super happy they are working for you Mopar. Would love to see the pics as a proof of concept at scale. What material did you decide to use?

Are there performance benefits with this shroud as is or do you have to hook up a hose to route the exhaust out to really see benefits?  Pretty cool design.  I've tried designing a custom piece to 3d print so I know how difficult it can be.

it depends on the overall set up in my opinion, my miners are close to a wall so rather than heat up the space, the shroud opens it to 6" and the exhaust travels approx 12" to where it vents directly to outside.

I am in FL and I have had miners running this way, some for 3 years without a hitch. It does get pretty sketchy hot in the hottest point of summer - I usually open the door to increase airflow at that point.

Mopar's explanation of purpose sums it up quite well but instead of 6", this one uses 8" capturing hash and power exhaust.

Hello, first of all thanks for sharing the project.

I would like to know if you could share the s17 front hitch model with me. the one you have in the sample image folder PROTO1_SLSb

Thank you very much in advance
a Greetings
