Like some other platforms do. Is it against thier terms and conditions? Could it cause account termination?
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

I do not think they have any terms about VPN, Just checked their terms page and nothing is there. A Google search led me to this article which is explaining how to use VPN if you are in USA to bypass US IP.

So considering above studies, I think there are no VPN hassle with Binance.

Why use a VPN first? If you are located from the country that using Binance is not allowed, you may try some alternative exchange or if you are from UNITED STATES, there is Binance US. If your reason is to bypass some law or regulation, it may dangerous and risky on your funds.
Try to check this topic on reddit about using VPN on Binance - Using in US with VPN.

Agree. I also don't think that using a VPN is a huge deal. Nevertheless using a VPN could become problematic if you're from a restricted region and you're forced to do a KYC (e.g. if your account shows deposit/withdrawal irregularities).

I personally would not want to take the risk of having multiple BTC frozen, just because I am from a restricted region. In this case, I would better choose another exchange.

If you're looking for additional input: A question in this regard was asked some time on Reddit before: Using in US with VPN.

For small amount of transactions/trades I think Binance will not set any alert but if the amounts are large then it's very risky to hide the location. They will simply freeze the fund and possibly will never give it back. Also, they have this limit and if you exit the limit they will ask for KYC so use VPN but if anyone wants to hide their identity then they will eventually get caught if amounts are large.

For privacy and security reasons, not necessarily from Binance, but rather for whoever is and might be there between me and Binance.

Some platforms don't have it in their terms but then out of the blue suspend your account for "suspicious activities".

I’ve been using Binance for approximately 4 years now, and I’ve always used a VPN; with me hopping country IPs too. Had no problem besides the annoying(but necessary) email verification due to the unrecognized IP.

I am not in the United States, but when I go to several exchanges, I have to use a VPN, because maybe in my country the exchange was blocked, for some reason. So as long as you use a VPN with a fixed country to enter the exchange, it's still pretty safe, but if you change the VPN every time you go on the exchange, there's a high risk that your account will be suspended until the investigation is over.

I don't think that Binance is using VPN, correct me if I am correct to my understanding.
Maybe the majority of the Binance community some are using vpn but not the Binance itself of course.
But if anyone are doing something about against the rules, perhaps this could be too risky I think.

I do not think they have any regulations about using VPN.
Why you planning to use VPN ? Is Binance banned in your counrty ?

See my reply to GreatArkansas above. Is there a list of countries where Binance is banned?

I don't think using VPN is against their terms (you should check though) and highly unlikely your account might get terminated (if that would happen, we would see tons of people complaining). Would could happen is that you might trigger a security flag and they will ask you to proof ownership of the account. I have recently read some reddit topic where others faced the similar problem. So don't use VPN. Use your own connection. This might even help you in the future when your account needs verification or is in some sort of investigation.

That, in my opinion, is exactly the point here. Binance specifically excludes residents of certain countries from using their exchange. If you live in such a country and use the exchange with the help of a VPN, you violate their terms of use.

If the exchange finds out about this, however, the funds in the account are definitely frozen and you no longer have a chance to get your precious coins. There have been several threads on this very topic where people have opened a scam accusation thread against the exchange, but then it turned out to be exactly such a case. The exchange basically has the right on its side, because it deliberately violated their terms of use. But as far as I remember Binance allows the withdraw of the coins even in such violations, unfortunately other exchanges see it completely different and freeze them.

Pretty much the same with your reasoning from your previous reply— for both privacy and security. I just don't like my local ISP to be unnecessarily snooping on my online activity.

You are right, but most exchanges used are centralized, they have terms of service. VPN usage may not be allowed, like on HitBtc, VPN is not allowed, I am not certain about this 100%, but if I am using their app to trade, loading it on VPN will not work. But for privacy, better using VPN but this can only be effective in very few exchanges but on noncustodial wallets.

I'm using VPN and trading on binance so far never encounter any issues for long time using it, but as other says here just make sure you are not trading on forbidden country since once they require a KYC documentation for sure you will fail for that matters. But If you are not residing in banned countries and just want to use that for good reason then you can use it.

Like some other platforms do. Is it against thier terms and conditions? Could it cause account termination?

There are no hassles with Binance as regards VPN; as long as you remain legit on their platform; you could only have to verify new locations every time prior to signing in to your account because VPN can be inconsistent. Which country do you reside ? Is it on binance ban list ? if yes; the vpn alone cannot save you. Read up about binance terms and conditions

It's pretty simple. If a certain exchange I'm using doesn't like the fact that I personally use proxies/VPNs, then I simply ditch that exchange for another, and I stop recommending that certain exchange to other people.

If you don't cheat them, I think you won't get troubles.

VPN might cause suspension of your account if Binance detects suspicious activities from your account and log in IPs. They don't force you to do KYC but if you account is suspended, you will have to do KYC. If you successfully verify your account, you will get it back.

Quote from: Binance's Terms link=topic=https://www.binance.com/en/terms
1. Suspension of Binance Accounts
You agree that Binance shall have the right to immediately suspend your Binance Account (and any accounts beneficially owned by related entities or affiliates), freeze or lock the Digital Assets or funds in all such accounts, and suspend your access to Binance for any reason including if Binance suspects any such accounts to be in violation of these Terms, our Privacy Policy, or any applicable laws and regulations. You agree that Binance shall not be liable to you for any permanent or temporary modification of your Binance Account, or suspension or termination of your access to all or any portion of Binance Services. Binance shall reserve the right to keep and use the transaction data or other information related to such Binance Accounts. The above account controls may also be applied in the following cases:
  • The Binance Account is subject to a governmental proceeding, criminal investigation or other pending litigation;
  • We detect unusual activities in the Binance Account;
  • We detect unauthorized access to the Binance Account;
  • We are required to do so by a court order or command by a regulatory/government authority.

Termination. I guess you did not pass their Compliance View due to one of reasons as follows:
Quote
2. Cancellation of Binance Accounts
In case of any of the following events, Binance shall have the right to directly terminate these Terms by cancelling your Binance Account, and shall enjoy the right but not the obligation to permanently freeze (cancel) the authorizations of your Binance Account on Binance and withdraw the corresponding Binance Account thereof:
  • after Binance terminates services to you;
  • you allegedly register or register in any other person’s name as a Binance User again, directly or indirectly;
  • the information that you have provided is untruthful, inaccurate, outdated or incomplete;
  • when these Terms are amended, you state your unwillingness to accept the amended Terms by applying for cancellation of your Binance Account or by other means;
    you request that Binance Services be terminated; and
  • any other circumstances where Binance deems it should terminate Binance Services.

I think you need to read the quote below. I use VPN on binance app and it worked, what many exchanges will disable, which means you will not be able to access with VPN on such VPN-disabled exchanges like HitBtc. I use trading app often, I do not know about their websites.

I do not think they have any terms about VPN, Just checked their terms page and nothing is there. A Google search led me to this article which is explaining how to use VPN if you are in USA to bypass US IP.

So considering above studies, I think there are no VPN hassle with Binance.

I dont think they'd mind if you use VPN, unless its from a restricted country. You might have to get your KYC done though, so, the anonymity aspect is removed. If they find anyg irregular activity, they will automatically send a KYC request. So, I wont suggest to use VPN in exchanges generally.

I saw that quoted post, Osho. Suspicious things mean lot of things and not only bind with VPN. You are fine when you use VPN on Binance but if they detect strange activities (suspicious) on your account, they might step in with account suspension.

If Binance detect that few users make few withdrawal requests to a same receiving addresses, in short period, they might suspend all those accounts. It can be a hack and compromise or replay attacks. VPN is only one of factor here.

OP asked for termination and it would be more serious reasons, not simply because of VPN.

I think it will not, last time I try to use VPN they will only send you a verification code through email or texts and if you enabled the google authenticator you need to provide that thing, if you will not provide that code or login using that link you may not access that account and if you try to access it multiple times that will be the time that they will locked your account maybe ban your IP too.

Yes, i am agree with you. Please don't use VPN where there are risk of hack your ID anytime. I think VPN use is always a bad idea from mind but there maybe some reason when i must have to use VPN like some days ago reddit banned some countries entry and at that time we used VPN but if you use Blockchain account or any other important exchanges account it must be risky work. So please avoid it be safe.

Yep, they simply don't care, I know many people that are located in restricted countries like US that are using Binance(not Binance.us) for a long time without any issue so you should be fine.

The problem with using other exchanges that allow US customers or using Binance.us is the fact that the volume is not that high and that means the spread is large which means that basically you have to pay more for a trade, and of course the most important part would be lack of enough trading pairs, not sure where Binance US version stands now but as I remember when it just had started it only had like 10-20 coins/tokens available to trade which is not much for a trader, but if you're just more of an investor it should be just fine.

Do you really even know on how VPN works? This doesnt talk about hacking or being phished or really that harmful for you to use technically because it has nothing to
do with hacks and you are simply talking about nonsense.Better search off on what VPN and you would definitely say or go back on what you had been saying here.
When it comes to VPN then there are platforms which are really strict in regards to that due to regulation policies thats why they are restricting specific users
that are really located into that country.If restricted then we can always find alternatives.

My colleague"sort of" had a problem like this before. If you end up using Binance with VPN and not get caught at all it wouldn't change anything, after all if binance doesn't know that you are using VPN then what can they do about it? That is why not getting caught is the most important part of the situation.

However my colleague got caught, he was asked to provide KYC as well, and he did shared his own information which showed he was from another nation. However, luckily he showed a passport ticket that he was in the country he showed, now if he never went to that nation he would be screwed but since he was capable of showing that, he said he is still there and got away with it, he just got lucky but that was pure luck and he could have been in trouble.

I’ve been using Binance for approximately 4 years now, and I’ve always used a VPN; with me hopping country IPs too. Had no problem besides the annoying(but necessary) email verification due to the unrecognized IP.
True.
E-mail verification was always a hassle with this kind of trick.
But it's okay for me. As long as you can protect your privacy.
I don't think Binance has rules with that as long as you are using a country IP that has no restrictions with them.
Anyway, I don't go over their default limit that is why I don't also need a KYC.

I don't recommend that you use a free VPN to access Binance, because free VPNs are used by a lot of people and it can be very risky. If your Binance.com is blocked like mine, you can use an alternative link like Binance.cc and it works without using a VPN.
the smartphone application still works well, but if a VPN is needed then you must use a premium VPN which is safer and only you use it.

I've also used VPN several times to access Binance before although only within the same region. There is no problem.

Nothing against their terms but if you are really worried, consider only using VPN if it's really "necessary" to do so. Otherwise, just access it the usual way.

Unless you are a hard trader always reaching your limit, there's a chance you might call their attention.

VPN has a lot of advantages. First, it hides your identity because a VPN will prevent your connection from accessing web browsers and others, helping to keep the data you send and receive anonymous and secure. Second, it escapes data throttling or it lessens the data usage. Third, it also escapes bandwidth throttling. Fourth, it can access region-blocked services like netflix or any crypto wallet. And last, it can bypass any geographical restrictions.
If binance is banned in your country maybe you can use VPN but why should you use it if it isn't banned? Maybe it's good to use if you really are concern to your anonymousity since it can filter out all the data information that binance can get. It can also help you to escape data throttling and bandwidth throttling.

Like Message above There is nothing mentioned in their TOS about banning using VPN but if your concern is being in US? there is Binance US that fits you.

And i believe in Exchange there is no need to use VPN unless your country is banned from that exchange though there are tons of exchange now that offers LEgit service and some of them are much better than Binance .

Also some people need to keep in mind that the VPN IP matters a lot. If the vpn was used for criminal activities or even violating certain binance terms and agreement our account might become the victim. The chance of that to happen is slim but just in case right? If any it's better to buy some high quality VPN not some cheap ones.
Though honestly most of the case people uses VPN to access binance just to bypass some restriction not to keep anonymity.

Personally, I think that using a VPN depends on the type of service you want to use. If the site does not profit from your use of it, and there are regulatory TOS, it will be strict when you want to use a VPN.

Binance aims for profit and it mainly trades in altcoins. Therefore, using a VPN can increase their profits, and therefore unless this causes legal problems for them, they will not prevent you from using these services.

in short, you will be OK with small amounts but be ready to lose it because they may ask for some KYC at any time.

It depends on how you will use your vpn if for anonymity and data privacy then theres no reason Binance will terminate your account without any valid reason unless your wallet pointing to large transactions which involve in any illegal activity like hacked bitcoins goes in/out from your account but if you are using vpn to surpass ip restriction then it might have consequences on your end you must be ready with it but I know its a common practice by most traders to use VPN especially if you are from restricted countries like USA they use it when trading at Binance, bybit exchanges.

OP asked for termination and it would be more serious reasons, not simply because of VPN.
Straight from the shoulder, not exchange site DEX/CEX (that include Hitbit mention by Osho) will restrict his users from using VPN if there's no suspicious occasion about the account or the account holder doesn't set IP restriction by himself for security purpose in spite of that, it is still not advisable to use VPN for CEX to prevent any future situation that will lead to the termination of the account cause the IP address provided by the VPN service may be used by someone else for shady activities and once the CEX found out about that they will terminate the account.

I remember visiting the site recently, but I had forgotten to turn off my VPN. My account was temporarily blocked (I couldn't make any trades). Whenever i tried to make a trade, an error message talking about breach of terms of service would pop up even when I turned off the VPN.
I however got unblocked some 10 - 20 minutes later. The reason for getting blocked was perhaps i used an IP address of a banned Country.

I did not find any rules on Binance regarding prohibiting using a VPN to access Binance, I also accessed the Binance website using a VPN. Since
the internet provider in my country has blocked the Binance site, I don't know the reason, even though my country legalized crypto as a digital asset.
The most important thing is not to use a free VPN, because it is very prone to being hacked. We must be careful if we are already in the internet
world, security must take precedence.

Binance is the most trusted site in crypto from other exchange sites
Let us just make it 'binance is one of the most trusted exch he site. But let us remember that not our key not our coin.

But before using VPN you have to check which VPN you are running there are many VPNs that have access to the site.
Using VPN that connects to the IP of binance supporting countries should not give a problem while binance is supported by many countries.

...So considering above studies, I think there are no VPN hassle with Binance.

Binance does not prohibit working through a VPN, although it recommends not using it. But you need to remember that if you use an American IP, you will definitely receive a message asking you to close your account on binance.com and register an account on binance.us.

Yes they did not prohibit people from using VPN, but it will be a bit of hassle for you since codes are needed if you did not know your email or if you uninstall unexpectedly your authenticator that could be a huge problem, your device will be acknowledged as new and it will require a sign in from the previous one with the same IP that you used, so it is not prohibited but it will lead you to a bigger problem if your credentials are not available.

I've always used a VPN when using Binance.

I don't think that it's against their ToS as long as you are not creating multiple accounts or circumventing a country ban - but even if it is, why would they care?

Their business model is literally based on the idea of getting as many people who don't want to do KYC to join as possible. Trying to ban VPN use is like shooting themselves in the foot.

I just answered this question in another thread, but let me offer my points here again: I don't think Binance will disallow VPN usage or trigger any read flag when a user is using a VPN. The reason is simple. Binance.com was blocked in China a few years ago. All existing Chinese users of Binance was forced to use a VPN in China to access Binance. There's even a Chinese word for this kind of use case for VPN: 翻墙软件. If Binance had banned VPN access, they'd have lost all their Chinese users.

I think using a VPN won't hurt, but it is just that usually VPNs don't assign the same IP twice so there can be a case if you are accessing your account from a normal VPN location. Also, NEVER use a free VPN for unblocking access to your account. Similarly, even if you have a premium VPN then try to get a VPN that does offer you a dedicated IP with it. In that way you will access your account not only through a secured tunnel but a with a dedicated IP that means your IP wont change every time you access. I have been using this Binance VPN which recently got their second audit done by KPMG (renowned audit firm) and were declared as "No-Log VPN" so my access to Binance is not encrypted but there is zero logs my dedicated IP ever accessing Binance.
