Xmrpoker is a fork of Torpoker. The two platforms don't share the same servers but they both work with the same open source app.

Yes exactly, the goal was to create a lightweight and safe anonymous poker game. Xmrpoker has no onion address but it is possible to have one with the rental of a private server.

It was decided to not mix currencies and I don't think "xmr.poker" is hard to remember ;-)
Crypto users have to know about Monero XMR because the altcoin is one of biggest privacy coin and it is very popular on exchanges.

Do you think a new thread should be opened on bitcointalk for Xmrpoker ?
It depends as below

If it has very different characteristics I think a new thread can be made, but if it shares the same characteristics and it is an update I do not think it is necessary, you have to make it clear within the platform. If you want to make it even more anonymous, using Monero is ideal and I think that is what is needed in casinos, a touch of anonymity, which, in the future, will be highly coveted.
I don't think that a new Announcement thread is necessary but no restriction to create it. Some gambling sites are owned by same owners or teams: Stake.com and Primedice.com. 777coin and BitVest. Bitcasino and Sporstbet.

If the team want to run two services with different games, features and not only different in the coin and network to be used, they should create 2 different announcement threads. If the two services are only different in coin and network being used, I think one announcement thread is enough.
