Hi everyone.
During 2009/2010, when Bitcoin.org site was launched, a user could enter their email and password, enter the site and do transactions in BTC, send/receive BTC etc.
I used to had such an account but now the all site and philosophy has changed.
If I'm not mistaken, was like a BTC address wallet build in in that site.
What happened to those accounts/profiles and their BTC ?
Does anyone knows ?

Thanks !

I wasn't around during that period of time, but I'm pretty sure that you're mistaken. AFAIK, Bitcoin.org has never provided a wallet service.

You're probably referring to MyBitcoin.com? If so, then as explained here[1], the site is no longer operational.

Can you remember or do you happen to know what site could that time work as an exchange with a similar name, using e-mail address to login ?
I remember that I was login in using my e-mail and password to purchase or send BTC to others using paysafe card.
That was around 2009-2010.
I'm 90% sure that it was BITCOIN.ORG but I may be mistaken.
Thanks for your reply anyway !

I'm not sure honestly. The only (old) website that I know which used to accept Paysafecard is Virwox.com but, based on what you said, it's probably not it:

- The site started accepting bitcoin in 2011.
- A user must his his username instead of email to login.

You can try and google image the site to see if it's the one.

There's a chance that some of the old users here have a clue, but you need to check out with people like theymos, HostFat, BitcoinFX. I guess Cøbra should know that too as he was the one managing the domain names back in the day but he is not that active in the forum anymore, you have a change to check with him on Twitter.
