The last time i participated in ico was in 2017, i join different ico then, some where profitable and some i loss money, i stop participating in ico ever since i realize that most project will dump below ico price once listed on exchange which gives more opportunity for those who did not join the ico to by even lower, i rather wait and see what will happen once the project has successfully list on exchange, although i know not all project follow this pattern but majority does.
Buying after listing works well for me, i take my time to research and read others opinion before making a move, but if a good project comes around that i happens to know about early, i may join the pre-sale or ieo, just a probability.

I won't dare invest in any ICO because 98% of ICO projects today are nonsense, if you invested that money in IEO from top exchanges or in any polkastarter project you would have double your invested money, ICO isn't good in 2021, you made the wrong choice sorry
yes your correct

to be honest I almost participated in that project. but I still have doubts and added a prohibition from my friend not to get involved. I have never participated in an ICO, but I did two IEOs on binance. and both are profitable. I think I need to be more careful in analyzing new projects. maybe I won't even participate anymore.

I invested on razor ... holy shit
2500usd loss within 4 hours.
This is the first time i am hearing this name as a ICO, on searching there is a razor network is that where you invested ?. How you lost $2500 within 4 hours, did you invest during the ICO and once the coin is listed in the exchange it went down drastically ?.
There are users who are behind DeFi market and you are here behind ICO and that too projects you cannot trust.

Your profile indicates that you are a pro, I still don't get how you end up with a scam projects in early 2021 perhaps you were overshadowed by their sweet talks and Fomo.
It's a necessity one should to do a due diligence on a new born project and also cautiously invest and again, invest in what you can afford to loose, but putting $2500 on an ico to end up as exit scam isn't just a wise move. Small capital should have been better.
Just as for recommendations and not to be taken as financial advice: Why not invest on small caps and hoe for good returns in the future, there is high chance of making it big on these gem projects since you are investing as an early adopter.

I hope those were okay to be a loss for you otherwise in my own perspective, I would go insane. That's an insane amount in my country actually. I would be more than disappointed.
What happened though? Did the price suddenly went avalanche? I read that the price went down by 39%.
I am not that familiary with Razor coins though.
It's a new coin in my eyes and ears.

Why did you invest in low volume altcoins? You already know that a centralized exchange can help altcoins to make a huge pump. Razor volume and marketcap are very low. Actually, I don't have any interest in dead coins. Altcoins numbers are increasing day by day, which is over 7k. I'm very disappointed that I wasn't very active in the last bullrun.

How dare you are to invest in the shit projects? If you want to throw away the hard-earned money, then do it with sending 0.001 ETH with the max available Gas fee, believe me, it is more profitable because in the end you will still have 0.001 ETH. In ICO investing, scammers will not care about your money and they will run without looking back. Never try to repeat the same mistakes on open public token sale events and don't listen to the ICO  suggestions of other people.

I don't know Razor but how it's possible to lose $2,500 within 4 hours if it's still on ICO?

Or you invested in their ICO period and its market price crash?

You lose because it's not a scam but instead, you lose because you join the fun in a low liquidity market.

i dont think you are rekt yet, maybe just down by half of your investment. but dump is normal for new listed coin and it would pick up sooner or later. if you could hold for a while, hen you may likely recover, otherwise if you sell now, you will lose .

I'm sorry to hear about your loss OP. It's really hard nowadays to pick the right new project to invest in. It's safer to invest in a more established altcoin or even bitcoin itself.
On the other hand i was pretty lucky with the last few presales i joined via an investment pool. Most of them performed pretty well so you can't say in general that investing in new projects is always bad.. you just need to be lucky or part of the right groups.

Did you buy this coin when just got listed on the exchange? Or you have invested from the first time the ICO run?

Usually, the coin who just being listed is very susceptible being made as pump and dump event. Most ICO investor will be aware where they should sell and hold the coin.

In your case, the coin that you bought is being dumped by some investor. I see on coingecko this coin just dumped 50% from its all time high 4 days ago.

Why you still invest in ICO? Don't you see people state that ICO is not recommended anymore, it is the time for IEO? If you follow people's suggestions, you didn't lose your money in ICO. We are done with ICO, it is too much in scamming people. Investors didn't trust in ICO any more, they move to IEO now. So, just avoid investing in ICO if you don't want to lose your money.

ico is slowly dissapearing on 2021 but why you still try to find them and now you got rekt for own fault  . if you only invest on what is the current trend right now you still have a chance to earn a profit and you didnt only invest small but 2500 is a big amount already  . imagine if you just putted that on btc or on random top altcoins you could have see your money growing after 4 hours  but if you ask us , we that are veterans here are now smart . we either didnt loose because we dont invest in ico on the present time or we are only profiting by selling the coins that we previously had .

I tried to check on CMC and my guess is you bought it on February 6 where on that date is ATH and also ATL for Razor, very sad.
In 2017, I experienced quite a lot of losses from ICO due to choose the wrong investment in several projects and this has been a valuable lesson for me as an investor, but haven't had a big loss in just a few hours.

The thing is that good projects are hard to find so you’re going to dig seriously to be able to find them all and then you can invest. If you don’t dig well, you will just end up with some whack projects and you really have to avoid the things like this.

I have not invested in ICO this year because I haven’t been looking for any new project that I will be investing my money in, I am just focused on the old projects that I have been investing in with my money and the old projects are doing really good this year so sometimes I just don’t see reason why I would go for another project this year. But there are good ICOs and also the bad ones .

But Most of ICOs Will Go dumped after being listed in some exchangers and some of them never being listed. If they list their Coin, They usually listed in some unfamiliar exchanger and have a low trading volume and you Will get your loss. That's why we should choose an ICO carefuly, find one that really trustworthy to invest.
I prefer to Buy the Coin that have been listed in the market and hold it as long-term Investment.
