Since using wallets on smart phones makes everything easier and portable for the users, many people prefer to use wallets in their phones.

* Before downloading any android wallet make sure about the application, because there are many fake wallets on the internet cloned from official versions. Also, don't trust an application just because you see it on playstore, there many fake applications on playstore.

Bitcoin mobile wallets are applications that are installed on mobile phones and offered by the developers in different names and features depending on the mobile operating systems. Due to the pervasive use of mobile phones in everyday activities, mobile wallets are also becoming more common today. In this post I'll take a look on the best and most famous Andriod Bitcoin wallets.

1. Trust Wallet

Pros:
- High security.
- Easy and friendly user interface.
- Supporting multiple coin and tokens.

Cons:
- Only available on phones


2. Blue Wallet

Pros:
- Supports Lightning and SegWit.
- Open source wallet.

Cons:
- Only available on phones
- Only supporting bitcoin


3. Bitcoin Wallet

Pros:
- Easy user interface.
- Open source wallet.

Cons:
- Only supporting bitcoin
- Not supporting 24 or 21 backup phase


4. Mycelium Wallet

Pros:
- High security.
- Supporting multi sign feature.
- Can be connected to hardware wallets.
- Paper wallet support.

Cons:
- Only available on phones
- Not easy and friendly user interface for newbies.
- Only supports bitcoin, Ethereum and ETH tokens.


5. Electrum Wallet

Pros:
- Open source wallet.
- Available on desktop.
- Supports Lightning.

Cons:
- Still buggy some phones according to the reports.
- Only supports Bitcoin.
- So many fake version available. (!)

Pros:
- Expert features such as privacy.
- Supports SegWit.

Cons:
- Not good for the newbies.
- Only supports Bitcoin.
- Not supporting alternative coins.

Pros:
- User friendly interface.
- Strong support.
- Supports alternative coins.
- Available on desktop.

Cons:
- Not open source.

Regarding Electrum, you canadd to the pros that it supports the lightning network. Also, you may consider removing the "So many fake version available" from the cons as this applies to all other wallets not only Electrum

Samourai Wallet does not support the Lightning Network and it is also available only on Android. I am not sure why you point it out as a disadvantage under other wallets. You can run all of those wallets on a PC using some Android emulation software, like BlueStacks, if you really want to, but it might be a better idea to import your seed into a more advanced desktop wallet and use both at the same time or split your funds between those two.

Regarding Samourai supporting Lightning Network you are right, that's a typo error when I wanted to put just SegWit support. (Fixed now)
Any android application can be used on emulators such as BlueStacks. But this will force you to download a third party problem and this will be an extra step.

Why are those cons when the thread is about Bitcoin wallet on Android?

Because this can be an advantage to support the other platforms and coins.

I would add "Privacy feature" as pros since Samourai Wallet have many privacy features & other wallet you mention don't have privacy features.

This means ERC-20 tokens. it's correct, it's not user-friendly for a newbie, must adding manually in Ethereum wallet setting by selecting the token want you to add. If didn't set up first, the newbie can't find the token he was received.

Maybe you can add official links to the websites or download buttons for the listed wallets. I am saying that because of the wallet listed on #3. Its name is only Bitcoin Wallet. Honestly, I don't know which one you are referring to. I know there was a light wallet with that name that supported both bitcoin and bitcoin cash, but I am not sure if that is the one.

I tend to agree and to avoid misleading into a fake wallet seems like what OP said, direct to the official site and don't rely on the Google Playstore.

There are tons of android wallet that didn't include in the OP, whatever it is, we should always be careful using android wallet since they are prone to risk like easy to steal your private key information and steal your android phone and brute force your wallet just to get your coins.  Here is my tips if you're the one who uses this.

• Never forget to set a pin code protection or security protection in your android wallet and at the same time in your android phone.
• Don't save your private key in your android phone, keep it in a safe place.
• The last one is, never store large amount, cold wallet much better.

I would never recommend that anyone uses Jaxx wallets. They store everything on your local disk in an unencrypted format. They know that their security is awful and they don't care. Their response is that if a user has his funds stolen because someone or something gained access to the unencrypted sensitive information on the hard drive, it's his own fault. Even though everyone is responsible to secure his own system, it's best to avoid services like those provided by Jaxx.

Also on the lists are some other close source wallets. Like Trust, Exodus and including the Coinomi. Yes, it is highly not recommended to use close source wallets as their source code is not available to the public, we do not know what vulnerabilities running under while using them.

That's just because Electrum has far more users than any other wallet, so there are a lot more targets.

I see this point highly valid. Also because the source code is not closed one, if it is available to the public to develop but the bad people will use the means to steal it, that is why close source wallets are not having so many fakes like open source, but close source is not still recommended which makes your point valid, because hackers like what most people are using, to be able to put malacious codes into theirs and steal Bitcoin from users.

But, there is one thing for certain, to know the fake ones is not hard, while it is recommended to only download electrum from electrum official site.

@OP you have given a description that may not be accurate to many of wallets.
Many of Android wallets are closed source and do not support many altcoin. Therefore, the classification should be divided into open source and closed source.

Actually that's a false claim spread by the creators of closed source wallets to try and justify their closed source nature. The reality is that a malicious person doesn't need access to the source code of a wallet to create a malicious version of it that steals users' funds. All they have to know is the name of the wallet.

But it is much easier to create a fake version of something you have the code to, and it is more profitable to target a more popular open source wallet compared to a closed source one.

Because this can be an advantage to support the other platforms and coins.

Then, "best cryptocurrency wallet for 2021" is more appropriate if these wallets that only supports bitcoin and supports mobile only are labeled as cons.

It just like talking about world's fastest jet while being the FASTest is a con(s) as well.

You can remove the Only supporting bitcoin as a con since the topic is all about bitcoin after all, or just replace it "cryptocurrency wallets" and retain this con.

Also you can change the Only available on phones to only avail for android or ios since the topic is all about mobile wallet or just retain the con and make the topic as wallets for all kind of platforms desktop, mobile, paper, etc.
