Tesla buys $1.5 billion in Bitcoin

Secondary stock offerings were probably the source of the $1.5 billion used to purchase bitcoin.
Those funds were supposed to be used for building factories, paying liabilities, etc. and other prudent business operations.

Why the speculative move to buy bitcoin? 
This seems to say that Elon's business plan is not worthy of the risk.

(Allowing buyers to purchase its product with bitcoin - not a big deal as they can sell right away.)

Well, it's good news and bad news at the same time.

Obviously, it is a piece of good news to every crypto lover as he/she can buy a brand new Tesla with their holding in the future.. 

And bad news because the alts are bleeding red again, though people may think that alt prices are increasing in $$ values but we bought it through BTC. so unless they reach back to the same price or higher in BTC pair, we are at loss.

It seems Elon Musk knows how to play with people's emotions, and he can attract them to join with him. He already invests in bitcoin before the price is jump, but he announces it now to lift the price, and maybe that is the reason for the bitcoin price to jump higher and break $44,900. The trend still at the uptrend. But we do not know if the price can break $45k or not since that is close to that price.

Elon musk is really taking advantage of his influence, It is given that Elon bought a bag of bitcoin on the accumulation phase and I think this is his plan, He will not shill or do something that he won't gain something. We small-time trader/hodler/believer has a chance to ride his plans to make some profit. I hope that next time he will shill a useful coin not a useless coin like doge   For the mean time, The tesla investment is I think good for bitcoin itself breaking the recent ATH and making a new ATH. I'm hoping that big names will start showing their motives to bitcoin.

So maybe Elon was already buying btc and doge even before the time that he was tweeting about crypto. And now, we are hearing that they just invested in bitcoin. I believe he also has a bunch of doge in his crypto portfolio and other important alts. Really great news to the crypto community, big boost in bitcoin price, finally surpassing the 41k mark.

I also have same thoughts; it is impossible for Musk to just buy bitcoin today and also announce today; he definitely must have beenn packing enough of the dips during the bears; and use his massive influence to force fomo and enough demand to cause a demand pull. I was very surprised that it goes so quickly. I had a premonition because why else would you have such a great interest in crypto currencies? Remember his twitter bio recently with BTC. there it was already clear that he owns btc. the distraction with doge was good and he had a lot of fun. and snoop dogg surely bought some btc too.

Elon Musks have already been so popular in crypto universe and we are getting his predictions about Doge and bitcoin for last few weeks. Although Elon Musk was so positive about bitcoin from the beginning and still he is spreading the potentiality of bitcoin and other crypto currencies. I am not a big fan of him but after seeing the news of Tesla's recent investment on bitcoin i can easily say that many more companies will follow the same way in upcoming days. Yeah its true that still many people have negative thinking about bitcoin and love to go for bank wire transaction rather then using bitcoin as a payment method.

Tesla upped btc price by 10% so we need to wait for Amazon, I guess another 10-30% up.

I wonder if SpaceX or Starlink will get into Bitcoin.  We got a lot of time before we need payments sent back and forth between Mars, but it seems that SpaceX at least would want to be able to transact using crypto between settlements.

It is truly remarkable that TESLA has announced that they are going to use Bitcoin as their payment method. If such an adoption is made at the corporation level, we will soon see that the price of Bitcoin has exceeded 100k.

It was always going to happen sooner or later, we can see how bitcoin has captured the financial world by surprise now every financial institution are trying to lay hands on as much bitcoin as they can buy, with this news we might even see Bitcoin at $50k before the end p this week, Elon Musk is really a destroyer of short positions  , cause I  heard over $500m was liquidated in all futures crypto exchanges after tesla released the news,  looks like we are already on the moon now heading to MARS.

It's now confirmed that Elon Mush is up to in the last couple of days, he maybe testing the waters already with #Bitcoin and then experiment on DOGE on how people are going to react on him.

And now that the jury is out and there are public documents of his company investing a good sum of their assets to BTC, then everything break loose. Now it's just a matter of time when this run will end short term. I'm thinking $56k will be a good stop.

Apparently Elon Musk has been the reason why bitcoin is soaring high and has reached a new ATH again today. Maybe he is really interested in cryptocurrencies and may see it in the future that it could be of use to everyone. I mean it’s not a joke to buy bitcoin worth $1.5Billion you know.

For him, that amount is nothing. He can play around and create momentum that can bring the price up and for sure

True, that amount is nothing for him but maybe he is also testing on how the market goes up and down whenever he tweets or say something about a certain coin.
