I've been involved with cryptocurrencies since 2013, remember the BTC peak at $1200, the DOGE hype.
Back then I got all my information from this very website, there weren't the same resources back then to acquire the knowledge needed to get involved. As a matter of fact, I first heard about BTC back in 2011, downloaded the wallet, but never truly understood how I would go about obtaining any BTC, so I just deleted the wallet again, and forgot about it.

Long story short, a friend of mine (who's mostly in stocks and real estate) asked me how to get started with crypto. He heard about it through the media and wanted to invest a few grand in BTC.

From a newbies point of view, it still feels kind of overwhelming to get started, which made me remember the good old days where I faced the exact same problem.

I started researching projects building the infrastructure to make crypto easy, obtainable, and straight forward to get started with, and came across the Divi project, which will allow straight Bank and Paypal transactions inside their wallet.
Pretty interesting, as it eliminates the need to start your journey on an exchange that requires all sorts of KYC documents etc. The process of trading X for Y on an exchange can be overwhelming as well.

So question I'm asking myself..
Have any of you guys been through the same, did you find it hard to get started with crypto?

The COVID-19 pandemic has showcased the value of crypto and digital transformation and people should start to use this time when needed the most. My involvement in crypto started last year. Thanks to the persistence of one of my close friends. Since then, I have amassed a life-changing portfolio of various cryptos, most heavily invested in BTC and ETH. I maintain 60-70% of my holdings in them and trade amongst promising projects like DIVI with the remainder.

surely everyone has had their own experience in the introduction of cryptocurrency. I know crypto (Bitcoin) in 2012 introduced by a friend to invest using bitcoin and at that time the price of bitcoin was $ 350. Until early 2016 I found the Bitcointalk forum and continued to explore various projects available in this forum while participating in various bounty campaigns available until now.

about 4 years ago, learned about the concept and also the bitcoin market, then started to enter this forum and join the bounty program. after running for 6 months, finally getting paid for the first time and so on. At that time I felt very comfortable working at home and there was also a positive side about economic knowledge, because learning the crypto market was tantamount to asset or economic analysis. but the last 2 years, the bounty was very difficult and the times were very gloomy, it made me a little disappointed because it didn't work out the way it started. but I will continue to fight because this is where I started and I have to fight for it.

I started learning about cryptocurrencies in 2013 through a friend's recommendation, from that day on I fell in love with cryptocurrencies and tried to collect a lot of Bitcoin.
However, I couldn't keep bitcoins until 2017, most of the bitcoins I earn had to be sold cheaply to pay my bills.
Appreciate the honesty of selling your holdings during the ATH way back 2017. Many people in this industry will push the idea that holding is quite of a mandatory in your investments. But that's not really what is actually happening. Investors undergo different circumstances and it will be a gamble to just hold even if you are already needing money to suffice your daily needs especially if you don't have that much aside from your investments. Meaning, there will always be a time that will push you to sell, not merely because you want to. I've learned about this way back 2016, but focused late 2016. At first it will just bore you out but once you understand how do things work here, it is really interesting.

So question I'm asking myself..
Have any of you guys been through the same, did you find it hard to get started with crypto?
Little bit same as you. I heard about it from a stranger man in facebook. Later we had a good relation though. So first time I can easily can use the wallets. But yeah I had some Problem to understand this forum that time. First I create account and later log out due to I can not understand it correctly. And I became bored. Smiley

Then after few month I try again to give sometime here in this forum. And thus slowly bitcoin/crypto is known to me by this forum.

I learned cryptocurrency way back in 2017-2018 during the massive altcoin pump. A friend of mine taught me the basics of crypto, how to do bounty, trading, mining, hodling, how it works and many more. It just happens that after 3-4 months, I stopped doing it because I didn't see the true potential, importance and value of crypto at that time. I think my learning progress is slow because I'm not able to understand the capabilities of crypto. After 3 years which is 2020, I returned to crypto world and up until now I am still learning and gaining knowledge while staying here.

Back in 2011, it should have been easy to understand for a newbie since there are fewer projects yet that started developing complex structures. You will just need to learn what's blockchain and its relation to the coin. The hard projects to grasp are the ones like BURST and NXT but they were just like platforms today such as ETH and TRON.  Now there are more complex projects like the Defi projects.  It took me weeks to really learn about cryptocurrency when I read some technical details from the users.

I can't remember when but one line that struck the most to me was when someone simply explains that "BANKS/Government should just create their own blockchain for their own coin/currency."

I learned about crypto in 2016 from my friends who are already familiar with it. At first everything was too complicated for me I felt lazy doing the step by step instruction on how to do my first purchase, how to send it to another wallet, how to create a buy order, etc. Those are the first steps I learned about crypto. And then it was only later on when I got really interested of what more crypto can offer.

When I first came to this site, I learned it all faster than normal researchers because I spent most of my time reading every necessary thing I need before investing real money in the crypto industry. It will make you comfortable soon when you already know what you're doing but you need to know that you gonna face some obstacle and it's up to you whether you continue or not. it depends on your enthusiasm when you want to learn so much the sources are all here and those members can answer your questions whatever it is.

My contact with any thing crypto was back in 2016 when one of my colleague wanted to register for something and we could only use BTC then, he was the one that created a blockchain wallet, bought some BTC and register for what we wanted to do. Going forward 2017 my sister now fully reintroduced me into crypto investment and this site and this was when the Bull run for 2017 was just taking off in crypto and have been loving it ever since.

I probably used Bitcoin for the first in 2016, and really liked what I read about it when I started visiting faucets. It almost sounds like a community-owned, peer-to-peer bank/currency that is decentralized and censorship resistant. Really like alot of the terms/metaphors used in describing Bitcoin back them... like transparency(was compared to transparent/glass bank vault) , immutablity, etc.  Learning it was actually very easy for me mainly due to the fact it was taught in smplified manner, it's compared with things that are well known like precious metal mining, coins etc...and it also solved very important problems that bothered me about building on centralized internet and using centralized platforms

Before I was into crypto, I’m into network marketing business and doing work-at-home virtual assistant job at the same time. I quietly left network marketing because of the “leaders” favoritism and treating me inequally.

In the mid of 2017, I started exploring cryptocurrencies and learning them slowly but surely while maintaining my work-at-home job and small freelancing gigs. As I have started posting links regarding to crypto, the “leaders” of network marketing started to criticize me that I have promoted a “scam”. I understand because they are misinformed.

Why am I learning crypto? Because of decentralization, transparency and being highly volatile when buying and selling them in the market. It’s what I am advocating until now. I became comfortable in early 2018 when I started to educate people about the real and positive use cases of it despite the mixed reactions or opinions.

As I continue to post about crypto, I’ve seen my friend list starting to go down because these “leaders” unfriended me and spread to their group chats to do the same. However, I didn’t mind despite that they ruined my name.

As the old saying goes, “When a door closes, another one opens”. I’ve moved on and met new friends in the crypto and blockchain space, and it changed my life. I’ve become stronger. My earnings in crypto and blockchain surpassed the earnings of my network marketing career. It surpassed my expectations, even with the great Bitcoin crash last 2018.

Until now, I love crypto, blockchain and DeFi because of so many opportunities and I never regretted parting ways with that network marketing team who treated me unfairly.

I have learned about crypto for the first time 8 years ago, I wasn't this much interested in it but I was here and there and talked about it and had some and spent some, back in those days people earned and spent bitcoin instead of trading it too much, we all remember that 10k per pizza story but the reality is that it was 2 pizzas and that makes it 5000 for a pizza, and that is how people used bitcoin, there were tons of people that earned thousands of coins for simple stuff and there were people who spent thousands to get things done, it was quite common, when I came in it was more like tens of bitcoins per deal.

I became very comfortable with bitcoin that way and instantly because for me it wasn't something that worth a lot, it was like barter for services, I wrote a code for you, and he made a logo for me type of deal.

I learned about new digital currencies a long time ago back in 2013. But began to actively study this area only after some time. The worldwide excitement around Bitcoin and other coins did not leave me indifferent. Since then, I have been a big fan of the innovative digital market  Roll Eyes

I read somewhere in 2012/13 about Satoshi and BTC, but didn't payed attention to that, lol. Than I heard for this forum and signature campaigns few years ago. Everyone of us have something in common. We all say smth like: If I just buyed that coin few years ago, If only I registered in this forum earlier etc etc. Truth is it is never too late to enter crypto world. If it is future, than how can you be late ?

I learned about cryptocurrency back in 2015, but for some reason I didn't want to study it.
And in 2017 everything changed and I really wanted to conquer it, I spent two years mastering it.
