My this post is linked with my previous post. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5251838.0Before current bull run I have 0.1 BTC in my wallet when BTC was trading across 10k. I thought I bought BTC at much high price and it wont go up from here on wards. But things charged. I am lucky enough to double enough my investment in BTC, thanks to current bull run. I sold my holdings at 30K and I am happy that I am able to get good return. No investment can give such return as BTC is giving to its HODLERS. If a novice person like me can invest successfully in BTC then anyone with little knowledge can do the same.

Congrats buddy and not only to you but also into those people who had invested and believe in bitcoin into those times where doubt and fear can really be seen or felt in the market. For those who had bought on that time and didnt mind off the risk too much did really get some nasty rewards in a short span of time.Imagine on how far we have come from 10k price to 46k or almost hitting up to 50k which is really a great achievement of all. You didnt only doubled your investment but rather making it triple since you had sell off in 30k price point.

Congratulations on racking up those profits on your Bitcoin investment. As someone who has seen a couple of bitcoin market cycles come and gone, it's safe to say that Bitcoin is one of the top performing assets of the last decade that has consistently rewarded hodlers and early adopters with more gains. Well, it's a bull run and everyone gets to benefit whether they have little to no knowledge about cryptocurrencies.
By the way, are you planning on investing back into bitcoin? The current price is about $17K from your sell zone but you can DCA for a bit.

That's how it is on our Bitcoin journey, go home or win big, you get out take profits and then re-invest to make more money, so congrats to you. And if I'm not mistaken, last year we started around $7000, then lowest low for 2020 is around $3,000 due to pandemic, and look at where the price is today.
Don't just say that you are novice though, you did use the perfect strategy of investing while the price is low, and then selling it when you are in the plus side.

OP doubled his FIAT. yep im knitpicking wording but selling his 0.1btc means he has no btc and didnt increase 0.1 to 0.2 he instead bought 0.1, kept 0.1. held and done nothing.. and just cashed out.

Congrations @philanthropist67. I know the feeling of making some nice profits from BTC especially when you are just a beginner If there's one thing I have learnt over the past years I have known Bitcoin, it's to have some spare money to buy those Bitcoin dips, when many are terrified and trying to exit the market. A Perfect example was that dip that happened last year when the Bitcoin price reached around 4,000 USD. Someone could easily own 3-4 bitcoins at that time

That's clean profit for you. That must be the mindset of everyone holder that whenever they sell, take it as a profit and disregard if it pumps or dumps after you sell. Congratulations, so what is next for you? Are you going to buy again?

If a novice person like me can invest successfully in BTC then anyone with little knowledge can do the same.
You are just lucky that you entered the market at ATH breaking bull run. If you happen to invest when the bear market about to dominate the market, I think you would say otherwise. I bet you are not a long time holder because you already sold your investment when the price increases and never see the possibility of BTC going $100k. But nevertheless, nice investment and a nice profit.

Yes, you buy at 10k and sold on 30k, you double your fiat investment but not BTC. You had 0.1BTC and sold it for 30k. Now is Bitcoin price 47k, so how much you can buy BTC for money which you "double"? much less than 0.1 with which you started trading?

Did you really double your BTC or your BTC value converted to fiat? OP doubled his FIAT. yep im knitpicking wording
That's what I am thinking about. This is very different. However, I congratulate you to get that high profits after converted to fiat. Buying and holding BTC will be always risky, however, sometimes, this will also bring high profits if cashing out at a higher rate. And about the current price of BT that is more than 45%, I think it is no matter, as long as you have reached your target at 30k, it is enough. At that time, you may not know that the price of BTC will be really high like now, And selling BTC at 30k, getting that many profits are good enough, no wonder that the price is now increased again.

You sold too early. It is now 46k and probably going up. You may have a very hard time buying back in below your sell price.
If you sold to get fiat for something necessary in life, that's okay.

He posted this today. He clearly must have seen the 20% jump since yesterday, because it was already near 50K when he posted. He's happy with his ROI and that's good. Not everyone is wealthy enough to keep that money. For someone who hasn't had 30k cash before, that amount can be life changing.

That's how profitable keeping hodl of bitcoin can be, there are several reasons that would cause a pump. Crypto investment cannot easily be predicted, sometimes people can just be lucky to buy at the right price and time. This is the amazing part of crypto, you can win big with a little patience.

That is not doubling instead tripling mate, You bought your Bitcoin when the value is around 10k and you sold at 30k meaning you earned 200% from your capital. Just Math. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hope you already learn your lesson and have not sold that early because if you keep the holding till yesterday then you may have gain another 150% from your initial capital.

I think the OP did well. He had an exit point that guaranteed considerable percentage profit. In retrospect it is easy to look back at price movements and say that you could have sold at a higher point, in practice it is harder, and it's next to impossible to sell at the absolute peak. When prices fall after a sustained rise, the fall is often dramatic. It is in general much better to sell in a market that is still rising, as the OP did. And of course given the dollar price volatility of bitcoin, whilst he sold at 30k and the price is now nearer 50k, can any of us really say with confidence that the price will never drop back below 30k again? If/when this happens it would obviously give the OP a lower entry point and the option to increase his bitcoin holdings compared to his original sale point. If it does happen, he can increase his quantity of bitcoin. If it doesn't happen, he's already doubled his money and is happy with the outcome.

You are technically right about that but it is still an investment and nothing can take that fact away that OP did double his/her investment. But you are right, OP could have made more if he/she doubled the bitcoin instead of cashing it out based on the fiat equivalent. Congratulations to OP for getting a big profit out of it, I hope that there is no regrets when you sold it at 30k price point because we are currently pushing a 50k point.

You'll not be getting that huge gain/profit from your investment if you are one of those panic sellers.
You have the got to hold and patiently wait for the best time, ain't that perfect but still, you are gaining in the triple. Only a few people manage to do this since we are passing $20k coz it probably many holders are selling that time.
Well, I have to ask you if you still have the gut to buy Bitcoin now? Will you still risk your money since many speculations that we are able to reach $100k?

Your patience and your perseverance gives you that prize, you are very lucky because some of us like me sold their btc when life gets hard early last year, so this year I will be like you, I will wait for the perfect moment and will gather some bitcoin again because I believe at the right time I will get what I lose again, I learned that people like you that take the risk to hold their bitcoin and other coin can be profitable in the future, they just need to believe their guts. Well, congratulations brother.

If a novice person like me can invest successfully in BTC then anyone with little knowledge can do the same. Great news and congratulations to you for that. But, i do have a lesson for everyone from this winning investment story. Lesson 1: He was held his investment until it got to the price appreciation where he was ready to take profit. We can only make profit via bitcoin investment if we are patient to HOLD and also be attentive to TIMING. Lesson 2: He avoided GREED. He took his profit when he discovered that the time was suitable to do that. He would have waited more had he became impatient. Hence, having the patience to hold and the ability to suppress greed, given the right timing are critical to success in crypto space.
Congratulations on racking up those profits on your Bitcoin investment. Good advise. But, i believe what he should do in this case is to take his capital, and then reinvest the profit or part of the profit. who knows he might have needs that are pressing to meet with the return from the investment. Also, still having some btc is a huge asset for the future. so, it will be great to reinvest back and wait for more appreciation. [moderator's note: consecutive posts merged]

It's a different scenario, you bought and decided not to sell and fortunately the bull market came and btc did massive run. It's simply buy and hold with patience. Anyone who wants to enjoy this massive increase will need to have enough patience and control emotions.
