There is a psychological part to this question that OP asked.  Of course, it is difficult to switch from traditional fiat circulation of money to the perception in cryptocurrency.  But at present, when BTC is gradually growing against the $, I think it is better not to think at all that you won in dollars, but simply count everything in BTC.  And gradually it will become a habit and all worries will disappear.

I don't think the worries will disappear in aspect when the game player is a newbie, want to play base on budget and don't understand the BTC conversion of her single bet in USD which is the current situation the OP is experiencing cause it will be hard for him to manage his portfolio. Besides, he will have to deal with making a conversion in USD every time before making a single bet. It will be good if he switches to a poker site that provide their betting in USD.

I've tried playing poker on those bitcoin sites. Found the conversion weird. Joining tables where big blinds are not displayed in usd, and in btc instead makes me feel a cognitive overload.
How do you feel about tables in btc? Have you got any advice on how to manage those?

You have to understand that there are websites which does use BTC and some of them who do use USD as a value . For example in Roobet , you will find that even though you send funds in BTC of ETH they will show that you have "x" amount of USD so you can use that as a baseline. Therefore it entirely depends on where you are playing , on which website you are betting on , if you have problems with conversion of BTC to USD or something then just use the websites who are using USD , you can just even go to settings and see but at the same time not everywhere you will find such options.

You can also just try and find the values online regarding BTC to USD and analyze yourself but then again you would need a lot of time to get accustomed to that.

Just find another website which have options favourable for you. Best of luck.

I don't really understand what's the problem at all, it seems that you're not used to it and as such you may be scared because you do not know how much money you're actually betting but this can be easily solved, the only thing that you need to do is to write in a piece of paper what is the equivalent in dollars for each chip that you are betting, that way you can make a very fast conversion and be able to tell how much money you're betting.

Obviously this is going to mean more work for you but it is not such a big problem, after all we know that poker is a mental game and after a few days or weeks doing this I'm pretty sure you will know very quickly how much money you are betting in terms of dollars while still playing with the display being in cryptocurrencies.

This has happened to me severally the lack of not display btc or ustd made me to double bet which have lead to lose the does not happen on stake site, so I advice you look for better option.

you played with stake ? as far as i know stake now allows you to displays cryptos in usd format but if you have still doubled your bets that was your fault already not the currency display or the gambling site that your playing .

i do experience doubling my bets but it was an accident and i admit that it was my own mistake but if you win that moment , you are going to end up happy but sorry it wasnt just your time to win and worst is that badluck hit you twice

Like what the others have said you have to keep on playing with these denominations until you get used to these amounts. If you want a different approach you could follow wxa's suggestion instead of writing it in a piece of a paper you could simply type it in a notepad or on the sticky pad app. But I don't think that's really needed since you only have to remember a single denomination like the common chip that you use to stake and it's equivalent in fiat. Once you get used to that denomination then it's all about moving the decimals to the left or right.

That’s a normal scenario but don’t worry because if you looked at your portfolio, it is already converted to USD value which is easy to understand. Anyway, if you’re into Bitcoin and cryptogambling you really have to familiarize yourself to Satoshis, that’s hard at first but its really fun to see such small holdings with a great value on it. If you’re still confuse, do the necessary conversion before you place your bet to avoid losing big money.

If you've been playing poker for years, you know that bet size defines everything, no matter if it's BTC, mbtc, or whatever.

If they give you a thousand of "something", a hundred of "something" or 10 of "something," in a conversion or deposit of your fiat money, simply divide it to your comfortable bet, which you know according to your possibilities, you have experience as I read in the OP.

Like everything it will come with time, it is really like speaking another language, at first you will have a lot of trouble to try to remember everything about this new language that you are trying to learn but with time it will come the moment where you not only will speak the language perfectly but you will realize that you can even think in that language directly without having to translate what you want to say from your native language to this new other language.

So as long as you keep using BTC as a unit of account eventually you will become used to it and you will know immediately how much fiat money you are making on each bet.

Try Stake.com, I`m using it for poker gameplay for a while now and its very efficient. You should deffinetly try it out!

To make the things more easier he can use any BTC to fiat converter sites like preev which supports almost all the fiat so simply enter the value to get an idea how much we are going to bet and keep that tab open to use whenever he feel that he is more interested to know the fiat value.

Conversion is  not really important to me since you can always verify about the value of the volume you've got just play if you are interested to play by using crypto since at the end of the day you can convert it base on the current market value. If  you are worried about volatility then excuse that, just think that you are here to have fun so don't stress yourself for that matters.

I have always felt fully  comfortable playing poker with my stack displayed in BTC only : even more I think it helps me taking optimal game decision not having fiat value of my chips by band. They are just chips to me and I can focus better on my A-game.
