What happened with Dogecoin faucets?

The recent increase in DOGE's price could've made faucets' business operations unsustainable. I believe that operators could've decided to give out less Dogecoin for free in order to keep up with site costs. Unlike Bitcoin, it's easy to send micropayments on the Dogecoin blockchain. Faucets could've simply rewarded people with fractions of a Dogecoin in order to help attract newcomers into crypto. Yet, most faucet owners have closed up shop. If this continues, we may be left with no Dogecoin faucets in the future.

Nonetheless, I think there's still hope for Dogecoin faucets. If prices go back to the way they were, we may see a comeback. Even if prices remain the same as they are right now, it's still possible to give away Dogecoin for free. As I've said before, faucets can reward people with fractions of a Dogecoin in order to help sustain their operations. While you won't be able to make a decent income out of faucets, they serve as a great way to learn about how crypto works. By all means, faucets are a great introductory point to the world of crypto. Without them, mainstream adoption for Dogecoin among newcomers into crypto will decrease. Just my thoughts

Those were good times. Claiming DOGE from faucets wasn't profitable at the time, but certainly a lot of fun. If you claimed 2k-3k DOGE per hour, you would've earned $120 - $180 per hour at today's prices. That's a whole lot of money for doing absolutely nothing. Who knew Dogecoin would go from being a worthless coin, to a "serious" investment in the mainstream world? Faucets were a great way to attract newcomers into crypto. Now that there are no faucets, people are forced to buy DOGE to "test drive" the Dogecoin blockchain. If only faucets made a comeback by paying fractions of a Dogecoin to its users, mainstream adoption for Dogecoin would've soared like crazy.

Nonetheless, all good things come to an end. Dogecoin faucets were good while it lasted. Now, we should look for other cryptocurrencies that are "under the radar" of investors and traders alike. I'm sure there are faucets available for other coins on the market. We should enjoy them while they last. Just my opinion

There could be some issues, such as business increment. If I explain, the team of the DOGE coin was conducted this on that concept that is business addiction purpose. So, in that case they were trying to collect the attention of the investors and they had attempted some potential task for consumers. But I can say DOGE is the profitable coin in CMC and it has a good potentiality of all.

Faucet are a difficult balance between profit or loss. Lesser ads brings lesser rewards, higher brings higher but decreases the interest of people. Adblocker just removes all of your ad revenue and restricting them and other ads and captcha bypassers is a never ending battle. There are some faucets that provide small amounts. But with increase in knowledge about crypto and easier ways of buying them, people are generally less attracted towards low paying faucets.

Before the Dogecoin craze, I've used to claim free coins every once in a while. But it seems those days are over as the aforementioned faucets have closed up shop. The remaining Dogecoin faucets will pay you a very low amount of Doge, as they're basing themselves on current market prices relative to Fiat (USD). It's not worth spending time at faucets to earn minuscule amounts of DOGE if you're looking into making lots of profit within the short term. If you don't care about DOGE's current price relative to Fiat, then it wouldn't hurt claiming at faucets to reap the rewards if prices go any higher in the future.

Luckily, I've found two faucets that are still giving away Dogecoin for free. They are Doge-Faucet and Bagi.co.in. We need more faucets if we want more people to join Dogecoin. They as a great entry point to the world of crypto/Blockchain tech. Giving away free coins will encourage anyone to learn more about how crypto works and how they can use it for their own benefit. Faucets will be able to sustain their operations as long as network transaction fees are low. Once fees rise all the way to the moon, then it'll no longer be viable to operate a faucet. I think that's what happened with Bitcoin faucets. They disappeared because of the ever-rising fees on the Blockchain. This could happen with Dogecoin too if it becomes clogged with transactions. Hope that doesn't turn out to be the case, so that we can continue to enjoy faucets for a long time. Just my thoughts

Probably the increase of the token value while the transaction fee in $DOGE didn't change is the main reason why they shut down the faucet. The increasing value of transaction is the main reason why faucet industry are not profitable anymore because it didn't adjust accordingly on the token value itself.

Yep, That's quite likely what's the reason but I also think it's because of not being able to "Pay to many".
Just like with bitcoin we're able to "Pay to many" In the wallet.
It's now around 0.05$/Doge which is also the transaction fee for a single transaction which is quite huge for the faucet industry to send Doges to a single user.

I would shy away from those faucets if they will give me such an amount of DOGE. How many days you have to wait for you to be able to accumulate up to one DOGE? Of course the Dogecoin faucets either disappeared or stopped due to Doge's crazy prices able to pump very high and able to increase up to many times

Well, it was never about making profits out of faucets. They only exist as an entry point to the world of crypto. Newcomers into crypto can learn how everything works by claiming free coins through a faucet of their choice. Without faucets, people will be forced to spend money in order to "test drive" their newly-found cryptocurrency. Most DOGE faucets disappeared because prices per coin went all the way to the moon. Faucet owners/operators will be unable to sustain their operations by paying a large amount of coins to the end user. It's best to give away fractions of a Dogecoin, in order to keep up with site maintenance costs.

At least, there are faucets available for other coins in the crypto/Blockchain space. This gives the newcomer into crypto some hope. If you still want free Dogecoin, then simply buy some with the income made from other coins' faucets. You can also receive DOGE as a tip, by participating in Reddit. I'd expect a comeback of DOGE faucets once prices per coin go all the way down the drain. When that time comes, Dogecoin will become great again. Just my opinion

My first faucet was freedogecoin with a few rolls once an hour but indeed if we collect from here there is no faster profit except having to wait a long time, and it lasts several years until the end I never use again.
But now when the price is higher all the faucets disappear maybe because of the high cost or because of other reasons I don't know but I think if now there are still real faucets maybe it won't be pulling out any time soon.

DOGE's insane price pumps was driven by Elon's manipulation and we all know that there was nothing more than that  The last known full node client version (before 1.14.3) was released an year back and there were no updates for the same nor any github PRs favoring them for 1 year. Dogecoin Core 1.14 had some not really bad improvements to full node but pumping with just some manipulative words is possible only in crypto market.

Currently with insane prices of both bitcoin and a worthless dogecoin, calculating our faucet payments in bitcoins wouldn't be worth it but probably through satoshis might be helpful.

BTW As others say, Freedogeco wasn't closed because of the price rise or lower profits but was due to malicious actors trying to ruin the fun of faucets to other new users by hacking them and stealing more doge! You would really be expecting those kind of closures because making out faucets on something becomes valuable is absurd and they would rather save up those doge's rather than giving it free
to the public because they would make more money if they do just simply save up those doge coins rather than on giving it with the exchange of site traffic which would really be giving
out less revenue to theirs.So as an owner then it is no doubt that you would definitely do the same, i havent encountered nor see any doge faucets at the moment
and if there are still some existing then they might be giving out very small amount as always but not just like before those before hype days.

The only way to mine it and that will need a very good mining rig to mine doge with profit. The pump that happened on doge has been making the difficulty is increasing even higher. Back when Dogecoin was out of the spotlight, we had many great faucets giving away free coins like crazy. Freedoge.co.in, and MoonDogeco.in were the best faucets with high DOGE rewards. I remember when I've used to claim free DOGE every once in a while from these faucets. After the Elon Musk craze, prices per coin surged to new ATHs. The coins I've earned from faucets became worth hundreds of dollars (USD) in an instant. It was certainly a profitable journey for me and those who invested early into the good-old "meme" cryptocurrency.

Unfortunately, the days of DOGE faucets are over because of increased demand in the mainstream world. With prices upwards of $0.05 per coin, faucets will be unable to give away free money without maintaining revenue to keep up with operational costs. It seems to me that DOGE faucets won't make a comeback as long as prices are well above $0.01 per coin. Things could change if DOGE goes all the way down the drain.

At least, there are other faucets available for many different altcoins on the market. I've now switched to the "Horizen Faucet" which gives you away free ZEN every day. You get a higher bonus if you verify your social media accounts and refer other people to the service. The income you'll get in terms of Fiat is not much, but it's better something than nothing. Who knows if your faucet earnings become worth a fortune once the coin goes all the way to the moon?
