i think if you can afford a 25 btc block that normal travel restrictions would not apply lol dont rich people get to skip all that type of shit?

Even the Aus Open tennis players were having hissy fits on social media about the quarantine they had to go through, and they are rich and famous. Shlub like me would get stuck in a room with no Netflix, internet or xbox

crazy world we are in. I wouldn't consider anyone with the funds to buy a 25 BTC block a shlub though Smiley

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Thanks for all the mintage information guys.  Windjc I did have a couple of lengthy calls yesterday with some investors and they just have smaller investments in mind with collectables. Of my group of friends I was the crypto enthusiast back pre $650 BTC or so. Now at $1.22 M for 25 BTC asset with less liquidity than an exchange wallet I understand the enthusiasm is less than a few years back.  I am a little more of a collector and drool over these cool collectables but like a lot here I'm not 25 btc wealthy and can only admire you guys that were able to hold so long.  This is a museum piece !  Smithsonian piece !  I think its worthy of a call to see interest there Smiley

Congrats on the sale of the unique BTCC Double Block! & good luck on this one, I too would hang onto it until travel restrictions, etc eased up.

OTOH! Fancy seeing you here  Grin

I had not considered the travel restrictions. I imagine you are correct. Although the buyer of the Double Block had MJ ship to Singapore.

Well that's an interesting idea for sure. But with museums, they don't purchase most items. You donate for a tax write off. So if I donated it to the Smithsonian I could take an appraised value of it and write that amount off against earnings for a year. Then the extra bonus is getting the personal acknowledgement for the donation.

It would be interesting to see at what point in the future they would be interested in a piece like this. Certainly once BTC is at $1 million value and this piece is worth north of $25 million. And of course, Bitcoin would need to be accepted more mainstream and as a reserve currency. I suspect in 10-20 years that would be an option. Maybe sooner.

Jesus. Someone has much bigger balls than me. As far as I know it's uninsurable, so you might as well be mailing cash.

Bitcoin is the greatest form of protest there is. Vote in the only way that really counts: with your money.

True, someone with north of 200 BTC might find that appealing for all the reasons you stated. Great recognition for BTCC as a company and their insight in recognition of a block as a collectable as well. I remember going to the Smithsonian when I was a very naïve 18 year old and being in aww of all the gems in a room with The Hope Diamond. I asked the guard by the case " Are These Real?" I remember him smiling and going "Those are real" lol, memory of a lifetime to me...  I believe they would have some interest now BTC gets a lot of MSM exposure now.  Best of luck with this ! no matter what you decide its a winner
