Hi,
Can anyone point me into the direction of the latest altcoin mining info?
I did a bit back in 2013 by mining a lot of altcoins through a couple of GPU rigs, doge, meme, main, quark and many more that I can't remember because I lost them all when Cryptsy folded. I had around 2 mil in Dogecoin alone and another 1.4 BTC worth of other alt coins but lost interest when I lost them all.
I am potentially looking to get up a and running again but the landscape looks verrrry different now.
Is it still worth it or is the difficultly too high?
Is mining low value coins still going on or are most resources now directed at the established GPU mined coins, albeit at much higher difficulty?
Any new coins on the horizon that may be worth a punt?
Much appreciated

I'll rather choose to mine those established coins than those low valued coins and believe that they might grow someday. Go to the Mining (Altcoins) and get to follow many threads there for you to have more idea in getting back.

Nowadays many projects are aim their consensus to be a PoS coins. Most of the miner now mine Ethereum with a possibility that Ethereum will turn to PoS and they cant mine anymore. Also the diff is really high and 4gb GPU became weaker to mine Ethereum, you need GPU with more than 4GB. So if you want to do mining, think twice

It's not just a possibility but it will actually happen that through this 2.0, Ethereum is about to turn from being PoW consensus to PoS. Also the diff is really high and 4gb GPU became weaker to mine Ethereum, you need GPU with more than 4GB. So if you want to do mining, think twice Yeah this is true, 8gb and above should be your GPU this time to make it profitable and there's another problem, I don't know if it's the same problem in op's location but there is again shortage in GPU for particular areas/countries.

Well you should know that it depends on the rig your settings up. The kind of cards you're using. I am also a miner but on a small scale. I am mining ether with only three cards, rx 5600xt (2) and a Nvidia Card 1070 8gb. I am getting around 9 to 10 dollars per day and it looks good in me. I am planning to buy more cards soon as I am getting near my target cash out. The pool I am using is nanopool, and there are new coins which can be mined by 4gb cards. Welcome back to mining, hope you don't leave this time.

That depends on how much hash power that you can generate it from your mining rig. The price increase made more people tried to mine the coin like doge and that's actually making the difficulty increase. Is mining low value coins still going on or are most resources now directed at the established GPU mined coins, albeit at much higher difficulty?
It looks like the majority of people were using asic and they have been leaving from the GPU mined coins. People don't wanna bet on the low value coins again except doge. Any new coins on the horizon that may be worth a punt?
I'm not sure about this but less and less POW coin came to the market and the majority of POW coins were cryptonight coin. People have been moving to the POS.

Things have changed alot my friend, back in 2014 many new POW coins are available and they are more serious than new altcoins today, in 2017 that was when I began my own mining journey and I mined over twenty different coins, holding all their recover seed safe but today they are mostly dead or abandoned, the little ones that survives have lost too much value and not worthless

The only most profitable coin to mine right now is Ethereum, it's not too late if you can get the GPUs are cheap rate cos since the beginning of bull season every graphic cards have doubled in price, I'd say start with 5k and see if you can handle that, and invest the remaining 5k in crypto direct, BTC, ETH and other

If you feel like mining some certain coins which you think will skyrocket their value for the next 4 years, then go ahead and be inspired by your own stories. since you are doing it yourself, you can try again but make sure you have done all the necessary research to avoid some regrets when something goes wrong in the future. at least, you've done all you can but rarely people failed when they've done all they can to get what they want. Just don't believe the hype that other people's tells you about their pump and dump coin or your effort will be worthless/ If there's some little space, this time you can mine 2 coins at the same time and just choose another known altcoin for the assurance of your profit.

What would you recommend for a ready to run rig around 10k budget? I think you are over-estimating your possible profits here. The market trend is currently bullish and that is why the mining of altcoins might show a good ROI, but as we all know these trends will change because the celebs who are promoting crypto on social media will stop at one point and market will become bearish. Keep in mind that altcoins always have been a source of anxiety and depression among the crypto community because of lack of profit on selling or rising prices. They follow bitcoin whenever the prices go up but if you cant sell within that time you will be at a loss. I dont want to discourage you from this, seeing is believing and hence in case you lose money you will be taught a better lesson. But I would not want you to lose 10k of course. Possibly think about buying those coins instead than mining them?

I don't see any proof of work potential coins coming out this days, if you come across any make sure you do good research on the project first before mining, I used to feel like becoming a whale so I ended up with many shitcoins in my wallet, I would advice you to mine popular coins instead but the choice is yours

If you want to generate market & flow, mine one coin and take payment in another that you would prefer to hold.
It generates flow & market volume to do so, rather than mining solo a coin and generating no market, make a trade cross flow mining practice. You can then even mine any coin you find preferable with less competition but with good value for maximized payouts in your preferred wallet.
Many pools allow you to customize payout in any coin they have listed. Maybe your mining rig is bad at a particular coin algorithm but better in another, just mine the better algorithm for your hardware. There is the question of the competition, if everyone mines the same coin, each one gets less for their effort. Spread it out.
This way you can even mine the shitcoins if there is someone willing to make a trade for it.

It will not be advisable to start mining back again as many coins increase the difficulty, and to buy high-end hardware will not cheap. You need to consider to think about that, so you can change your plan to the other way to make money from crypto. With a $10k budget, I can suggest you try trading as I see the opportunity to make a profit will be bigger than mining, but you should have basic trading skills. And while you have those basic skills, you need to learn more to get more lesson about trading to help you make a profit base on the market move.

That's right, now it's much different, it will be very difficult to own a mining area where we will often get kicked out by big equipment and miners with high power and more advanced technology. It cannot be denied that when we are familiar with mining before, it is easy to get 0.1 satoshi in just a few minutes. maybe you still remember when 2014 was very, very easy. now I don't have the interest to mine any altcoin. What I do is collect fees and put them aside for depositing on the exchange and buying altcoin there.

To mine coins right now you will be spending hundreds on dollars on graphic cards or asic miners and the fact is these graphic cards have doubled in price since mining became profitable again, I'm not sure you are up for that yet, also even I you have old GPUs most new miners have abandoned many already eg hd7970 and others

and invest the remaining 5k in crypto direct, BTC, ETH and other It is worth clarifying that you need to be very careful with this, now there are a lot of tokens on the market and you need a really good analysis to understand which token you need to invest in. Be careful with advice, it's your money and your responsibility.

Currently I do not recommend mining. Ok eth etc. Cryptocurrencies like the rising can leave good profits But now even more money can be made from mining through trading. Apart from that, there were serious price increases in ram and various materials. So I definitely don't recommend it.
There are a lot of reasons that can be said in for and against crypto mining. Point is that bitcoin mining is no longer profitable for a small-number rig owner. For that you will need big farms of ASICs. For altcoin mining though there might be slight chance of getting a profit or ending up in a never ending cycle of failed ROI therefor being a vaporware ponzi. To be honest many altcoins in the past have been like this. Still the hardware for altcoin mining depending on what you are mining and its liquidity on the market you may be able to profit. But getting all these factors in the green is a tough thing to do.

I just did some research, the only coin which will gives you at least break even every month is ethereum and litecoin, buy OLD L3 bitmain the electricity is about 800 watts if you only pay $0.1 per kwh it will gives you small profit kining LTC used L3 bitmain. And for ethereum you need 3080 GPU to get profit.
