Nothing scary about it. Just lets people check if their antivirus software is installed and setup correctly. I'd say the only scary thing about it is if your antivirus doesn't detect it. As for it being detected on web pages you browse, well that's what happens when you use invasive external virus suites when the default option is good enough for most people using an up to date version of Windows.
