1) are they any good or just cheap junk ??...

2) Currently am still on a normal Desktop running ASUS X99 Deluxe Motherboard, and got 3x 3060Ti(s) sitting doing nothing and another 2x 3070(s) on the way, was wondering if i can start mining immediately on My Desktop using those risers, can it work ? i got 1200w PSU and a single 1080 Ti there and PC running Windows 10 Only !...

thanks,

You can use these risers, just avoid to use sata cable to power your risers, it's not good to feed the riser with sata

But the board is good and you can use without any issue

3060tis can do 60Mhs with 130w, and 3070 only a few watts more, more or less 135w, it's pretty safe to use with risers
You have a decent PSU too

thanks,
riser 009s is the latest and most stable one, they had 2 led indicator for 12v and 3.3v for voltage monitor jus in case the riser not proper plug in or dead

more expensive than predecessor, but worth for bucks

For me, the best raisers are VER 006 (molex). I connect them from the power supply and they work reliably.
I read the topic about raisers - video card killers
https://miningclub.info/threads/rajzery-ubijcy-ubivajut-vidiki.34995/
that's why I don't buy 6 pin raisers.
But my graphics cards don't use more than 150 watts.
If you are using 3080 or 3090 then it is better not to use molex

I google translated the Russian article.

from the link above

"I hope this topic will save at least some video cards, in my case 10pcs. gone to the other world
Link to the riser https://ru.aliexpress.com/item/4PIN...32848384892.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.fxJDKR

The idea is not bad, these risers use a DC-DC converter to generate 3.3V from an input 12V. DC-DC has a higher efficiency than linear regulators

BUT! As it turned out, it was in THIS batch that defective risers came from this seller! Out of 24 pieces, 18 pieces are faulty and with almost 100% probability they kill vidics.
This is due to a faulty PWM (DC-DC converter) and the fault does not appear without load! Without load, stable 3.3V, but it is worth connecting the load and we will receive pulses at the output with a swing of 12 volts, which will cause a breakdown in the video card chip.

Having changed places (on a working and faulty raiser), the defect went to a working riser, the faulty one worked accordingly.
The culprit PWM FR9888

To check your riser:
load the 3.3V line with a light bulb (you can use a car 12V from 10 to 55 watts) and measure the voltage at the same time, in no case should it rise above 3.3 volts, when overloaded, it should fall through but never get higher!
The video was uploaded to YouTube, the whole defect is demonstrated"

This is good info.

Yes the risers are good

1. Instead of using the sata cable that comes with the riser I suggest using PCIe 6pin cable instead

2. If your GPU is less power consuming like the gtx1660s or 1650 you can use the sata cable but make sure you don't connect two gpus on a sata cable from the power supply, make sure one sata cable is connected to one gpu only

Is there is a maximum power draw to use these risers with ? Can I use a 3080 or let's say a 3090 ? I didn't know this, of course I'll avoid the pic e cable, thanks...

PCIE spec is 75w....thus either molex 4 pin or pci 6pin are the only options that are always acceptable in ALL circumstances.

I still use data cable for small GPUS but in future builds I will go with mining motherboards that don't need risers for GPUS, I would probably buy that type of motherboard that philipima talked about in other topic here, risers can go bad at anytime even if they works now, I've changed two since I start mining

That's really weird to me. I have been mining since 2011 on about 30 graphics cards (I change graphics cards with the advent of newer generations), not even 1 riser or extender has ever died.

Show a picture of your raisers.
If I remember correctly, the first raisers were ordinary plug extenders.

If you use such raisers, then they have no electronic components.
I used these in 2016, but modern raisers are much more convenient.

my riser fail rate was 10 percent. say 10 bad out of 💯

my pcie slot fail rate 3 or 4 out of 200.

and every one was my clumsily handled fault.

Never had any issues with any type of risers I buy online, I never knew they had numbers like 005,006 or 009, I just order and they always work when I set things up but I always read about 009 versions been the best of all, I think you don't have any problem with any risers you buy unless you buy a defected ones

I believe this riser won't work for modern graphics card because they need extra power, this riser is good for GPUS that don't use extra power like the old gtx750ti or gtx610 etc, if you plan on mining today they are bad, always go for powered risers
