Hello everyone,
My girlfriend and I have recently started up a non-profit in the Seattle area. We aim to provide job training and resources for disenfranchised and marginalized communities in our area. The pandemic has seen a major amount of unemployment rise in just about every area in the whole world but I am sure you are all well aware of this. I am currently on a hiatus from community college but I am studying to get my A.A.S. in Computer Programming and have a relatively decent amount of knowledge about computers and coding. I'm nowhere close to being good at it, but I can make basic programs in C#, can maintain a database with SQL and am currently learning JS at home. We particularly want to help out the LGBTQ+ community starting with transgender women and men who find it hard to find a workplace that will be inclusive and equitable to their lifestyles. We already have a doctor and a lawyer on our board who specialize in helping transgender people so we have plenty of knowledge on where to go and what to do. We are trying to find companies that would be willing to join us and provide us with the knowledge and requirements needed to train people to get hired. We want to be completely inclusive and not just help one community in need we want to help as many people as possible. That is just a little rundown of our INCforce's (the non-profit) mission. We will be making all of this available to everyone under a certain income bracket we just want to help out with current issues in our area as we have seen an influx of transgender women since our state has provided health care and has listed gender identity disorder as a mandated health issue since escorting was the primary source of income to get procedures done for that community and the pandemic has exacerbated the issue and we have seen an upsurge in this kind of work. We want to provide the proper knowledge to get this community to at the very least start to professionalize their area of work through modeling or caming to disencourage unsafe activities and to empower them to move forward in achieving their life dreams and career ambitions not having to demoralize themselves or to put themselves in harms ways. We feel its time to look forward and to give equity and inclusion to the communities that lack the courage or knowledge to become their best selves. Lots of the stuff here is controversial and treading through these areas legally is going to be hard but I believe its possible to do and that it is the only viable next step in actually creating a system that can help us rebuild this economy while also empowering these individuals instead of making people feel ashamed for being poor and needing help. I want to create a leveling system for both the consumer and retailer so that it can be a somewhat entertaining to use
I have been following cryptocurrencies since about 2010 but only recently have I invested my time in buying, mining, and learning about blockchain technology in its entirety. I wish I could have done this before but I myself was homeless and was not in a place to do any of that economically until recently when I started working on bettering myself instead of blaming the world but that story is beyond the point of this post so we wont go into detail but I feel like its necessary for you all to know the jest. I started to think about making a blockchain of my own that could be used to create a real world economy for our nonprofit but I'm not sure how to go about it in a way that it would be able to get not only adopted and trusted by everyone but also to benefit the space by providing a form of tax relief if that is possible without conflicting with our non profit status which I believe it is I just want to gather some feedback from others who might be interested. We envision having a token that can be purchased from anyone needing services that will be provided by people we are helping that want to be sole proprietors as well as for use with our donated money in a separate Dapp or sdk for our donated money so that we could create a transparent ledger that can be verified by anyone to prove of how and what our transactions are used for but also to allow the various hairdressers, stylists, jewelers, and other various gigs that people startup in their free time to supplement income which could could be viewed and purchased through a a Dapp as a webpage or a full blown application for ios and android and through qr codes in a wallet that could read transactions and be able to identify the person in need and show everyone statistics on their progress the business licenses and certifications needed to actually better their lives. We want to be apart of the entire process from homelessness to independence, so that the transparency can be tracked and seen by donors and the community. We of course would have each individuals choose the percentages of what they are reinvesting back into themselves and with a part of the income which will also be chosen by them they will be able to cash out and live off without transparency if needed as to give them some privacy and not be too intrusive into their lives as that alone would drive off many people and its just wrong to do in my opinion.I hope to utilize various contests and hopefully start to gather contracts with other organizations who would be interested in hiring/helping out the person. As a person who has spent a large chunk of their life growing up in poverty and being homeless in my ancestral land I have seen and been through the systems that are currently available for people and I can tell you that its not efficient but it is also very bias and is filled with many organization who reap government contracts but do only the bare minimum and barely if at all actually help empower people to better their situation for the long term leaving a lot of people without the proper knowledge or resources and community needed to not be dependent on the government or on anyone but their own hard work and labor. the barriers to start a business are absurd and makes it so that people in those situations cant get a foot up to actually compete and we hope to change that but creating a place that not only provides the community and knowledge but also gives them full freedom over their destiny allowing them to pursue their dreams and to contribute to our society instead of forcing them into the meat grinder so they have to barely scrape by with no time for school or proper training cause of the low wages and lack of experience. It will will allow them to work at their own pace and and to show the world that they are doing well and that they are not lazy they are just disheartened by the mountains and barriers they have to climb over just to get by. that is just one part of what we will be doing we are also going to be be doing career training, workshops on healthcare and maintenance and I am going to be teaching about coding and blockchains as well as how to build and maintain hardware. We are hoping to one day be able to provide some certification which I will be talking with my professor at SPSCC about how to go about that with Microsoft and other organizations that are needed to make that happen in the future.
I have been learning a little bit of how to create a blockchain using the sha256 algorithm in concept and am hoping to learn how to bring that concept into code and learn which algorithm would be best as I am new to this part of cryptocurrencies. I am hoping to find knowledgeable people who can explain some of these things, point me to trusted sources or a mixture of the two. I really would like to help out the space and I feel like this might be a great way to introduce cryptocurrencies to the everyday person in a way that shows them the fundamentals of how distributed ledgers works and how they can also be used in ways that will be beneficial to society. A lot of people associate crypto with scams, crime and drugs which is holding back a good chunk of our population and this will show them that it can be used in a way that will be just as transparent and would not allow for such activities as the only way to spend the currency on goods would be through our application and of course exchanges once that becomes a possibility but I would like to in a centralized sense disallow that from occurring by essentially forcing someone to swap the currency for fiat or for other coins but that feel like a slippery slope and I don't want to make anyone upset and have a way for those activities created out of spite. I just want to discuss how I could implement these concepts and what types of algorithms would be best and what model would/could work best for creating a decentralized network and ways to incentivize the miners or stakers in a way that doesn't conflict with our nonprofit status
I really love this space and what cryptocurrencies have done as a whole for our society and I am extremely grateful to have been able to actually invest from a fluke of luck I went from barely getting by before the pandemic this time last year to now where I'm still struggling but the unemployment I received was invested into ORN and ETH and it has kept me afloat. I sold my ORN in December to get Christmas gifts for my son in Texas and I could have made 10x the money if I waited until today but I am still grateful that this winter I was actually able to not only do that but also pay my rent and not have to worry to much. I still have a little bit of crypto left that I am unstaking to get caught up on my bills and my new girlfriend started this nonprofit and hired me as the director of communications/webmaster and this is the first white collar office job I have ever had. I was an installer of office furniture before all this and never would have thought last year at this time of the year that I would not only be writing this out but also am working at a job that I believe in. I couldn't have done any of this without this community, I was around 19 or 20 when I stumbled onto a webpage on StumbleUpon.com that exposed me to what Bitcoin was and reading about how it would render the banks obsolete and how it creates a trust-less decentralized network was mind blowing and pivotal I was homeless then and was learning how to take care of myself. I had an opportunity to buy btc in 2013 and wish i was have grabbed the almost 10 BTC I could have purchased for around $37 but lacked knowledge of storage and was convinced to buy booze by my girlfriend then, which has now become the most regrettable decision I have made. I am excited for the future of blockchain and am now exactly where I want to be in life I just have to figure out how to implement the steps necessary to do things proper as I am meticulous and compulsive and want to do this the right way. We also have some seats available on our board and we will need a couple devs when we start to build the app front end and back end if you have any skills or ideas you can PM me or even just post here and we can figure out what we all can do next.
Our board meetings will be publicly held on Zoom anyone can attend you just wont be able to cast a vote but feedback and ideas will be considered when the procedural method of problem solving about that issue is discussed by our team. I will be updating this as much as I can I can get busy but will be able to take some time to check back in as I just started coming to this website and wish I would have done this earlier but all thing come in due time. Thank you for reading my post I hope to hear from any interested party. We will be gathering funding locally and will be holding a fundraiser in person not sure of all the details cause it has to be discussed at a board meeting and voted on. I will be holding an online fundraiser as soon as our blockchain is created and a decentralized network is established so there will be no lapses in transparency and we will be applying for grants as soon as next year as to up our chances for obtaining them when we have a foothold in the community and data to back our claims. We have some friends in high places and we have everything we need at the moment but if you can help with ideas or donations we will have an incentivized means for that as soon as we figure the legalities and system out.
Sincerely, Chad Hansen
