Hi

I have build my 1'st rig, and i have ecountered problem with ga-h110-d3a motherboard

It works fine with 4 1660s cards in any slot and power configuration, but as soon as i try and to add 5'th card it falls into boot loop and cant even get to bios.

All seting are as described on gigabytes site,

ga-h110-d3a
Pentium G4560
8gb DDR4
6x 1660 super (various models all work in 4 config but in 5 or 6 card config t wont boot)
SATA SSD 120 GB
2x Chiftec 650W gold power supply

I tested various configurations with 4 cards with diferent cards and risers out of 6 i have. I can plug them in any of 6 pci slots and they will work, I can power them from 2 PSU's in any configuration and they will work.

but as soon as i add 5'th card all go into boot loop, it dont even get past post screen and whole machine restarts.

Any help ? Sad

did you set 1st gen vs auto for the pcie slots in the bios settings?

and did you set a large virtual memory like 30gb?

"Above 4G decoding is set to Enabled?"

YES

"Is bios updated? Make sure you to switch onboard vga in bios then connect vga cable to mobo. i have 2 same mobo working no issues with 6 gpu each"

Yes it came with newest bios flashed already. I 1'st assembled MB with cpu, memory and SDD, run it with iGPU, installed system (win 10) and all updates, then started adding cards one by one with all settings in bios made as described it setup guides. it works with 4 cards but wont start with 5'th one added.

"I have this motherboard Cool updating the BIOS solve the problem of 6x GPUS for me, make sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date, BIOS first before gen 1 and 2 switching"

It came with newest bios available, i started installing cards with gen 1 and checked each time in GPUZ and it showed cards are running gen 1.1 at x1 pcie speed

Anyway I ordered other motherboard + CPU set (Asus B365 + Intel G5420) to check if MB is faulty before i can return it to seller.

"are allrisers working? Whats your PSU?"

All risers works with any of 6 cards as long as i use 4 cards , as soon as i addn 5'th one al go to shit ;p

2x chiftec Polaris 650W PSU Gold, both works, i can connect MB + 4 GPU's to 1'st one or MB + 2 GPU's to 1'st one and other two GPU's from 2'nd PSU all works, i tried dozens of PCIe slots + PSU combos in various setups and al works as long as i use 4 cards

Will try on Monday (got rig installed in office) to re flash, reset it to factory and set up again one by one.

I don't know if you've watched it, but on YouTube there are some videos demonstrating how to configure the BIOS of this motherboard for mining I suggest watching, maybe your problem may be in another component that is causing the crash during POST.

ok explain connection of 2 psu(using add2psu or cable)? How did you feed gpus? make sure that riser and gpu feeding from same PSU.i will recommend 3gpu per psu. That one not very well psu but it will work.

Well, I have 8 of those motherboards and all of them are working perfectly fine with 6 gpu's (RX5600/5700, RTX 3060 Ti/3070), rock stable for months

If all slots work with any combination of 5 cards, but fails to post with 6 cards,
it seems likely to be a power problem.

A BIOS config issue would likely boot with one card not recognized, or at least,
enter the BIOS.

It's not an OS issue because it won't post.

Do you power them form one PSU or two ?m do you use those extra MOLEX board conectors on Mb?, as i dot see point as risers are powered separatly.

It is 4 cards not 5, 5 and 6 wont work, but i'm wiating now for other MB +CPU set so will check it and also will try and get one 1000W PSU so meaby it will fix issue, but doubt it as i ran setup where i powered MB + one or two GPU's from 1'st PSU and rest from other up to four cards total and it worked, it stops to work as soon ad i conect 5'th card no meter to wich PSU or pcie slot it is connected.

I stand corrected, but the point is the same. It's got to be power or some obscure motherboard
fault that only manifests with >4 cards, which seems very unlikely.

I am using single 1800W PSU on every rig and I didn't connect extra molex on motherboard, just 24 pin and 8 pin for cpu

Something must be wrong in your MOBO, I have this motherboard and it's working with more than 5 GPUS, I'm surprised you having problem with yours cos it's a very popular motherboard, this have nothing to do with OS since it's not posting, I suggest using another power supply to try it out

I'd try switching off all onboard peripherals that are not needed, including onboard graphics. Could be that your processor is pci-e lines limited.

EDIT: and lowest (Gen1) setting to all PCI-e slots
