That's knowledgeable trivia, thank you for sharing this.

If you will check this forum on the last page in a gambling site, (pages 252) there's a lot of gambling that I don't know if until now exist and I guess, we only know those who are operating long time ago and until now.

I can't imagine if I am the one who won thousands of bitcoin and until now I have that amount of bitcoin, I guess, I am a part of a whale at this moment. Is Satoshi Nakamoto did have a plan to have his own gambling site? If that Satoshi dice founded at the year 2009, I guess I will suspect that belongs to the bitcoin creator.

You forgot about satoshidice . As i remember, this was the oldest dice gambling crypto platform, which was launched in 2013 (or even earlier, lol). Earlier than many of other casinos, like Sportsbet you've mentioned in your OP topic.

Oh yeah, here it is
Quote
SatoshiDice was launched on April 18, 2012.

The first one dice crypto site.

what we can conclude here, is that gambling industry is the first ones to adopt the usage of cryptocurrencies. and look at where we are now, still new casinos are being launched everyday. we have seen that one major use case of crypto is in the gambling industry. and one of the industries that was not affected by the pandemic. instead of slowing down, this has grown a lot in the previous months. i guess, this industry is the one that benefited from this pandemic crisis because even some of the fiat-based casinos are now accepting crypto to adopt the current trend.
I’m probably sure that some other project also started adopting Bitcoin at that time like exchanges, and other for of services aside from gambling.

IMO, the crypto gambling industry still has a lot of room for new gamblers, that crowded word never happen because the adoption continues and we have to remember that crypto is still on the early stage as evidence but its very high price volatility.

Quote
Anyway, winning such amount of money in gambling today is very impossible to happen, its also good to know how crypto gambling started, and now we’re almost see crowded gambling site.
It maybe possible for whales though.. but chance is probably like 1% as trusting the site with a huge bet is already putting your money at big risk and I don't know if there are gambling sites that has 11k of bitcoin in their wallet.

With comparison to the starting days, the growth is tremendous. Now this has been a big market for cryptocurrency. Specific percentage of cryptocurrencies circulation happens through the gambling sites which makes the market stronger. The very first site being bitcasino.io is really an unexpected information. Lets dig more history from the beginning days.

Yes, Satoshi Dice turned into an exclusive bitcoin cash casino nowadays.
In addition to this SatoshiDice is currently under Bitcoinvideocasino's ownership as the site is linked on the side of their casino page and there's also this post of approval from their official forum account.

I'm not sure if Roger Ver encouraged them to use BCH but there was a partnership thing going on between them based on this interview.

Crypto gambling industry boomed because of the convenience it gave to people. Many like to gamble and doing it at home on their phone or laptop is a big change. Add to that is privacy, they can go to a gambling platform without exposing their real identity. Though some gambling websites now require KYC but there are still some where you can gamble freely. You don't even need a big amount to play on those platforms unlike in real casinos where a minimum amount is required to play and is already big for some people.

- Moneypot ( now called bustabit) the first crash game ever by Espringe
I thought RHavar was the original inventor of the famous crash game but you seem to be right in fact, according to this post he "only" bought it and improved it.

I thought espringe invented wallet also because the thread where he sold it, there was said moneypot wallet. It was maybe in 2014 year.

The original "moneypot" was actually a game, and had nothing to do with "the gambling wallet". I purchased "moneypot the game" which came with the moneypot.com domain, and was working on a "gambling wallet" service (which at the time, I called "vault"). But I found the name "moneypot" was more suitable for the gambling wallet than the game, so what I did was rebrand "moneypot the game" as "bustabit". And launched "vault" as "moneypot the gambling wallet".  And then later sold moneypot.com (which at this time was the gambling wallet project).

So yeah, it's a bit of a confusing history  Grin

Haven't heard of this ever since I enter the world of Crypto, seems like my knowledge on history aren't sufficient (more to be discovered)
Anyways thanks for correcting me. BTW i tried to click the link of yours but it takes me on nothing...
or it has been long gone?

Just hoping I could see on how does the platform looks like as it was my first time hearing it.
Histories has always been interesting particularly in terms of bitcoin. Today each BTC is nearly $50k but 10 years back gavin gave 5BTC for each visitor  Cheesy You can find more interesting historical facts in my topic which I created 2 years back : Story of the Firsts - The events which triggered everything

Regarding the unavailability of website, I think the faucet was closed back in 2011 when bitcoins rised in prices. I tried the same website in archive.org to find some evidences and got to know there were screen captures existed. Here was how the website functioned in 2010 : https://web.archive.org/web/20100703032414/https://freebitcoins.appspot.com/

i recognized the 4 casinos in the story but not the poker because i havent seen that appeared in this forum or maybe it did appeared but there are no comebacks that have been made because other casino revive their old ann threads and starting to re launch a new campaign and you didnt include primedice , freebitco , 777 coin, bitvest and few more old casinos because i think they also started way back 2013 and 2014 .

Worth to read for every crypto gambling community members, such an interesting thing to know that cryptos were used for gambling in the year 2012 itself which is like the first ever platform to use cryptocurrency more regularly?

And now after a decade we have 100s of awesome gambling sites with multiple games to bet on.

That is a lot to take but it is simply the reality of how bitcoin gambling started and don't forget another crypto's to be included on any gambling site,

I surely now know the history of Bitcoin and how people try to revolutionize it and turn it into something we could never think of and I think it is all thanks to Blockchain technology if it isn't for that ledger tech, people would not realize the potential for cryptocurrency,

I would personally what to know what the pizza guy would think and feel if he learned that the currency he used to buy 2 boxes of pizza now turn into a whole lot of treasure right now and just like the history of gambling the history of the first purchase for Bitcoin was on May 22, 2010, and I would like to share that story.

Satoshidice is a bch casino now though, isn't it? I wonder how this happened. If Roger bought the business or this is the owner's honest opinion on bitcoin. (bch being the real one)

Also don't forget directbet.eu.

I liked them a lot.

I'm also curious about on why Satoshi Dice select to shift on BCH and maybe they are been influenced by Roger or they see something good about adopting it and I don't find any related article to give the reasons on why the dev do that.

The only theory we can speculate to that is maybe someone from BCH huge supporter bough Satoshi Dice or maybe Roger Ver do it to expand the influence of BCH and make the bitcoin supporters curious about those events.

Yeah and from what I remember freebitco.in is also the first faucet who ever existed here in crypto world (correct me if I'm wrong) also I've been hearing about Satoshi Dice somewhere last year but didn't know it was one of the first gambling platform that existed in this whole time...
Well I guess, it is only FortuneJack what I know best on that list and been playing with it until now.
So it's been a pleasure to use a platform that has been one to be considered a history
I was also about to mention that.
Freebitco.in was one of the longest when it comes to faucet but administered with gambling too.
Back then, I dice my accumulated bitcoin from faucets or I would buy tickets for the lotto game.  Cheesy

As soon as I hit one small jackpot I took it out. I think it was way back 2015 but I don't know what date their inception is.

Gambling platforms improve starting with a lot of fun and small jackpot rounds. Freebitco is very easy in the gambling community where everyone easily bets on their casinos by resolving the issue of player trust in game providers trueplay helps eliminate the risks associated with responsible gaming the platform will provide an opportunity to control game addiction and prevent players from overstepping the bounds. In addition suppliers will have built in functionality for monitoring and licensing accounting.

I didn’t know the first Poker site to accept Bitcoin was PokerSwitch and except that I knew everything else.Of course after 2016 it is history as it is in the year 2017 that Bitcoin made news worldwide by reaching 20.000 Usd for a Bitcoin for the first time.

It turns out that the history of crypto gambling is quite interesting to know and also thank you for OP providing information on the history of crypto
used to play gambling. And I just found out that the first gambling game that used Bitcoin was poker, then after that Dice. I was late getting to know
crypto gambling, I just started crypto gambling in 2017. Because previously I only focused on playing the faucet, because before 2017 there were
still many legit faucets. But unfortunately now it is difficult to find legit faucets, now what is popping up a lot is crypto gambling.

I didn’t know the first Poker site to accept Bitcoin was PokerSwitch and except that I knew everything else.Of course after 2016 it is history as it is in the year 2017 that Bitcoin made news worldwide by reaching 20.000 Usd for a Bitcoin for the first time.

I didn't know that either, pretty cool by power switch. And in today's world no poker player could imagine a world without  bitcoins. I came through gambling in online casinos to this forum. For me the mix between learning more about cryptos on this forum and trying out all these different online casinos was awesome. I think most of us here earned some coins through gambling.

Freebitcoin has been officially launched in october 2013 according to the date of their ANN

but as it has been already said above Gavin Andresen's faucet is the very first one, he launched it 3 years before

For my first Bitcoin coding project, I decided to do something that sounds really dumb:  I created a web site that gives away Bitcoins.   It is at: https://freebitcoins.appspot.com/

Five ฿ per customer, first come first served, I've stocked it with ฿1,100 to start.  I'll add more once I'm sure it is working properly.

Why?  Because I want the Bitcoin project to succeed, and I think it is more likely to be a success if people can get a handful of coins to try it out.  It can be frustrating to wait until your node generates some coins (and that will get more frustrating in the future), and buying Bitcoins is still a little bit clunky.

Please try it out and get some free coins, even if you already have more Bitcoins than you know what to do with.  You can get some and then donate them right back; the address is: 15VjRaDX9zpbA8LVnbrCAFzrVzN7ixHNsC

Satoshi himself was immediately amazed by it

Excellent choice of a first project, nice work.  I had planned to do this exact thing if someone else didn't do it, so when it gets too hard for mortals to generate 50BTC, new users could get some coins to play with right away.  Donations should be able to keep it filled.  The display showing the balance in the dispenser encourages people to top it up.

You should put a donation bitcoin address on the page for those who want to add funds to it, which ideally should update to a new address whenever it receives something.

Histories has always been interesting particularly in terms of bitcoin. Today each BTC is nearly $50k but 10 years back gavin gave 5BTC for each visitor

the image of the site gives me a noatalgic feeling . faucet in its early days are verry different from now and i like the fact that you can put your address upon claiming so that means you can instantly see what you claim in any wallet ? and they pay for the fees but thats possible because fees before are small due to the small value of btc .

1. Bitcoins were created back in 2008
2. First transaction took place in January 2009
3. In August 2011 first ever Poker Site came to accept bitcoins as a source of payment
its created in 2008 but it took a year before the first transaction took place ? wow  i think people are too skeptical that time with btc and they are hesitant to try it and then it took over 2 year for a btc powered gambling site to appear . poker is a game that are already popular before in the online world , no wonder why they pick this game to test with btc and eventually they create dice and more gambling games

I wonder where is Nakowa now, who won a total of 11,000 Bitcoin, of course, he will not think back then that Bitcoin will be valued 5 digits in the future, this is the largest amount won in a dice game, But Cryptocurrency gambling has evolved into a multi-million dollar industry and one of the main promoters of Cryptocurrency, I figure that hundreds of thousands of gamblers who came here because of Cryptocurrency gambling
