Former Army tech Larry Johnson has spent his career improving computer and telephone systems so when he saw inefficiencies in how we grow our food, he decided to create a new system for farming your yard. His EZGro garden uses aquaponics, stacked towers, and custom pots to create a high-density vertical garden (HDVG) on as little land as a deck, rooftop, or parking space.

Johnson says the system will grow 700 plants, using 15 towers, in a space of just 2 by 18 feet. Today, he sells kits ranging from single tower patio gardens to 10-tower deck gardens to commercial-sized set-ups like those being used by a Miami football stadium for concession meals, by a Whole Foods Market in New Jersey, and by rooftop farmers in Lagos, Nigeria.

I like hydroponic concepts...
now I plant tomatoes in the backyard of my house, I also raise tilapia, the concept I use is simple, I flow the pond water to my tomato plants and drain the water back into the pond. the water will be filtered back and spinning in that cycle alone, every 2 weeks my husband helps me to change the pool water. I was inspired by this concept when I watched a video on YouTube.

This style is indeed something, i have always loved the idea of growing your own food (planting), this your particular method of recycling the water from the fish pond back to your plants is phenomenal, there will adequate distribution of nutrients for both  plants and fish. It is necessary you put your food supply into consideration, We can't really trust what we buy in the market these days.

My relatives likes to plant vegetables so once in awhile back when I was with my family I get to eat some fresh pick vegetables,
And now my in-laws also like to plant some vegetables and fruits just a few months ago I witness how peanuts grow.
For me it is a good hobby so we could say some money and wouldn't have a problem with foods.

Good to see that someone is having this kind of post here in forum.

I have my Own aquaponics and Hydroponics in my small backyard .. also have some dozen of chicken and some rabbits for my meat source .

So i am not worrying about if ever pandemic happens again , because since the pandemic comes i have my own food and fore sure Clean and healthy ..because all i provide is organic from the chick foods upto the pesticide i use for my plants and fruits .

Unfortunately, not many think this way as presented in YouTube video content by OP. You tagged him a scientist and from my point of view, his got to have a lot of educational background and not so many have got that. Especially in Africa where education is only for the privileged few and the other few that might have some ideas have no resource to carry it out.
Also, food items often take time to grow, though, genetic engineering are trying to play a part in that but, its still not going to be enough due to population explosion in most nations of the world.

So, food supply will always be a problem.

how i love to have these mentioned because for survival and health security but My place location cannot fulfill the needs of the said Hydroponics and aquaponics because i live in a main city in which the range of my place is small as only like a Kitchen of a luxury house.

But i love people that Making their own foods , i really respect them.

My family has focused on making our garden during the lockdown days and I can see that our plants grew well.

And good to know that there's another knowledge that has been added to me. Never heard about aquaponics and hydroponics. Free food in the garden, feels like I'm in the province.

People have been researching deeply about farming for all the time and everyone comes up with different kind of cultivation method but what will happen if the climate condition changes and water resources got dried up?

How much do you think he spent on an irrigation system like that?

It doesn't just need some electricity but more fertilizers to put in the water. The thing is that not all people do have the luxury to put up such a system. There are basically just ways to grow plants that will let you just spend a few hundred and then you're self-sufficient after it. There are youtube videos of these people planting just on their porch with empty coke bottles.
