I spent money on three gtx1660 ti for 430$ each from china and I've only make 150$ back today, I'm worried when will I break even because so many people told me I did the wrong thing, they told me bear market is that I will never make my money back, is this true?

Nobody can answer that. It does appear though that the crypto market is losing steam so ROI might be longer than you thought initially. Too early to say this is a bear market though.

Depends on how much you pay for electricity. If you have free electricity, you will definitely break even eventually. It may take longer for you to break even, but it will happen.

You can sell the cards and make some of the money back if you really get into a pinch.

Depending on your electrical costs you should only buy cards if you can break even within 6-8 months (at 1/2 the suggested earnings) in my opinion.

Depends on how much you pay for electricity. If you have free electricity, you will definitely break even eventually. It may take longer for you to break even, but it will happen.

If you are running on free electricity like me you don't need to worry if bear market will come or not, people tend to sell their GPUS when bears comes because they can't keep up with electricity bills, ROI will take longer than expected is all but will eventually happen

Free electricity or not, to get ROI you need to have a small initial investment. Most people are forgetting but with 30MHS back in the bear market pulled in about $0.25 per day of profit. So even if you got free electricity, if you spent $500 on a GPU (lets say $400 for GPU and rest for cpu/motherboard/psu/ram) you would need to mine 2000 days. Which is around 5 years. Most likely by then ETH will be fully POS and you won't be able to mine it even at $0.25 a day.

$430 for an 1660Ti is a little overpriced because these retailed for slightly under $300 when new. And I think they were going for $150-175 on Craiglist a few months back before this ETH price explosion started. So say $430-$150= $280. So as long as the OP makes close to $300, he should be at ROI.

All I can say is keep mining and hope that bear market won't take over in few more months, I bought a gpu at 400$ too and I've made 200$ back already, what matters is what you gonna get before bear market starts and it doesn't look like bull season is done with, you can still make your money back, keep mining

dang to expensive for 1660 ti, and mining continue downhill until june this year, and we're going to recover on august most likely, relax you will got money back

It's not as if you will make your money back in a day when mining, it's more like gathering the pieces together so it's going to take some time, why not relax and keep picking up the pieces? The market is still very bullish and it's possible to see ethereum at 2k again

Ethereum is back at 1500$+ and bitcoin is going up to 48k too, relax you may be able to make the ROI back in short time after all, what you need right now is patience, also it's best to start swapping your eth to usdt once you reach limit withdrawal cos I believe that bear market will come later

I grabbed chart off Binance.us  on feb 27th and played with it to show the issue at hand.

So which point of the cycle are we. one of them means greatness for mining the other is not so good. you are merely saying we are at the bad point. I am saying I am clueless to which point we are at.



so if we crash your card will earn about $1 a day vs the 8 or 9 they make today

You paid over 1300 for setup it will take 1000 days to pay off if a full crash happens.

but if we drop slowly or go side ways you will pay off in under 500 days.

if we go up you will pay off in under 150 days.
