Hello, here is around 6 days, I bought some bitcoin, after they sent them, I did not receive anything because the transactions remain unconfirmed for 1 week. In addition, only one of the two appears in the blockchain, one of the two seems to be in another blockchain (mempool) Transaction number 1: Here is the transaction (it appears in my wallet as unconfirmed): https://blockstream.info/tx/6cdb98f9c86ef7902ee991d44e013307662086322dc41ee392584daac8b12d11https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/transaction/6cdb98f9c86ef7902ee991d44e013307662086322dc41ee392584daac8b12d11transaction number 2: this one (it doesn't even appear in my wallet): https://blockstream.info/tx/b405185bc699d24a611cb25aeb3347159235c968bbb0d58a8c98cc1b96cd6ccfhttps://blockchair.com/bitcoin/transaction/b405185bc699d24a611cb25aeb3347159235c968bbb0d58a8c98cc1b96cd6ccfThe fees are + 0.0007 BTC (100.1 sat / vB) (around 25 €) Can someone help me and find out where the problem is coming from. The mempool is not another blockchain. Mempool is where unconfirmed transactions wait to get included in a block. Until a transaction is included in a block, it is not in the blockchain. When a transaction is included in a block it is considered confirmed. I checked your transactions, and you are even overpaying fees according to blockstream There might be something wrong with your transaction broadcast. I used this tool from blockchair.com to broadcast your transaction again. https://blockchair.com/broadcast But blockchair.com refuses to broadcast it. It shows a message that the transaction is being broadcasted, however I can't see it in its blockexplorer. Can you tell us a bit more about this transaction? Did you try to use RBF (Replace by fee) or something like that?? I don't know why blockchair would refuse to broadcast it. Edit: As pointed out by odolvlobo, the coins you are trying to send are still unconfirmed. Only when those coins which you received are confirmed you will be able to send.

Typically, the reason for transactions remaining unconfirmed are that the sender paid a low fee or the sender sent unconfirmed coins that were sent with a low fee. In both of your transactions, the fees are ok, but the sender sent unconfirmed coins. Your transactions are waiting for prior transactions. b405185b... is waiting for transaction 6f06c23dd9876940dd0ab65107ba54059dd71e83dbe10bdbb8dd60561bca4424, which is unlikely to be confirmed for a long time (perhaps never) because the transaction fee is only 3 s/vb. 6cdb98f9... is waiting on two transactions, 0ba52bed104cea1075754f783867d423ae9510bd4d6fb3f3905aaf7e1862fd9d and fe682ab28ecdb3bc82498af0c7730e2fcb0cf8563c6fc88cc2367c16aa3624a0, which are both likely to take a long time to confirm because they have transaction fees of 7 s/vb and 10 s/vb. Hopefully, you can contact the sender and ask them to fix the situation using RBF or CPFP. Also, please tell us where you bought the coins because I don't want to ever use that seller. Selling unconfirmed coins is bad business, if not unethical.

I bought on coingate , i pay 11 500€ of bitcoin ( 2 transactions ), i never have problem until now. They said : " Bitcoin users across the network may notice their transactions sit as unconfirmed or pending for a longer period of time
Let me explain that every bitcoin transaction that's sent flows into what's called the mempool (short for memory pool) before it can be confirmed by miners. When there's a dramatic spike in transaction activity, the mempool can become congested because so many transactions are waiting to be included in the next block. "

Because at my level I have one of the two transactions in my unconfirmed wallet, and one not even happened in it. I contacted them, and they told me the network was congested, except the charges are overpaid, and I checked, RBF is not possible

You can potentially do CPFP by sending your unconfirmed coins to yourself and paying a huge fee. But, really Coingate should do that if they can because getting the coins to you in a reasonable amount of time is their responsibility.

They are giving you excuses for the mistake that they've made. They shouldn't have spent the unconfirmed transaction with extremely low fee that clearly wasn't going to confirm any time soon. The network congestion didn't happen all of a sudden during that transaction, the fees were already high when that tx (6f06c23dd9...) was created and it was clear that 3 sat/vbyte is very low. Besides it would have been understandable if the unconfirmed tx was only the previous one, but they are creating a long chain of unconfirmed transactions and if one of the ancestors (like 6f06c23dd9...) uses RBF to bump the fee, the entire chain becomes invalid and they'll have to resend all of those transactions again manually.

Yes of course, coingate is a centralised platform that figures out the transaction fee for you, so in as much the transaction is under their custody, you have to wait for the transaction to be confirmed but may delay because of the low fee they used, maybe when the mempool is less congested then your tx will confirm easily.

1. If the coingate staff was serious, the issue would have been resolved by bumping the fee of the first unconfirmed transaction so that it's confirmed. This would make your current unconfirmed transactions invalid, but they would then have to create a new transaction and send you your Bitcoins. Perhaps the person paying out people's withdrawals isn't competent or knowledgeable enough about Bitcoin fees and what's making it worse is that they are creating more transactions using outputs of previously unconfirmed transactions. So, it's now a long chain of unconfirmed transactions. 2. If you wait it out, the earlier unconfirmed transaction being at 3 sats/byte, I don't think it will be confirmed. It will eventually be dropped out of the mempool (approximately 2 weeks from the time it was broadcasted) and make all the following unconfirmed transactions including your invalid. Again the coingate team has to create new transactions in order to pay your Bitcoins I think Option one is what they have to do because it all ends with them having to resend the Bitcoins. After all it was the silly mistake, not yours.

The price is changing on the market too much per day and this high price movement made some traders and investors to make super fast and emotional decisions. There are many new buyers and sellers in the market. This will make the network vary crowded and this situation you will need to pay more transaction fee to get your unconfirmed transaction get confirmed faster. Otherwise you do need to wait for weeks/months to get your transaction confirmed.

Given the very low transaction fee that prevents your transactions from being confirmed, it is not realistic to expect the situation to resolve itself. Mempool is almost 200 MB, and the number of unconfirmed transactions is mostly around 100 000 - so you have to take some other steps to get what you paid for. I suggest contacting that exchange via chat or ticket support, and if they ignore you the only way to get things started is to push them through social media, it usually works. I can’t remember ever hearing of something like this - Coingate was obviously quite messed up somewhere.

It looks like there is no other way for OP to fix the thing but to wait until all the ancestor's transactions are confirmed. Considering the given scenario, RBF and CFNP won't help in this case without invalidating the latter transaction, Yes? can this be resolved by itself if I wait? Considering the given scenario, RBF and CFNP won't help in this case without invalidating the latter transaction, Yes? It is unlikely that the 3 s/vb transaction will ever be confirmed, therefore waiting is not an option. CPFP can spend any of the unspent unconfirmed outputs or any unspent outputs derived directly or indirectly from any of the spent unconfirmed outputs, and will not invalidate any transactions. RBF on the final transaction can be used as CPFP. It will replace the original payment to the OP, and not invalidate any others (except unconfirmed transactions spending the OP's unconfirmed coins). Coingate.com has the ability to fix the problem, but it looks like they are willing to lose customers to save some money.

Transaction number 1 - Confirmed in block 672882 (12 confirmations as I type this).
Transaction number 2 - I can’t even find (I’m trying to input the txid into various transaction accelerators to see how much it’d cost to push it for confirmation but it doesn’t seem to exist?)

Yeah as said by LFC on the tx #1, it's all good and confirmed. Transaction number 2 - I can’t even find (I’m trying to input the txid into various transaction accelerators to see how much it’d cost to push it for confirmation but it doesn’t seem to exist?)
There must be some missing characters for his transaction 2. Even if you click the link of OP, it says not found.
