Thank goodness most scammers are stupid, so they don’t realize that addresses are free and that they can generate them in unlimited quantities. The problem is those who know their job very well and do business according to the model of one person - one scam - one address, and then of course all over again.

Just be smart and don’t believe in promising stories on social media and what you receive in your email box - then there will be no need to check addresses anywhere

The only problem with such services is that they are only useful for those who already know about their existence and know how to use them.
Also there are some concerns regarding their reliability. Especially with tagging addresses (e.g anyone can go to bitcoinwhoswho and tag any address he wants as Scam!).

Those websites can be used to detect stupid scammers whom reused their bitcoin addresses. You are right that smart scammers don't reuse addresses or they don't reuse wallets. They will create a new wallet for new scammer targets.

Those sites and past scam addresses, transactions, tags, labels, information can provide free lessons. Some readers can find something and take it as lesson for them. It can help them to take care better in crypto.

Don't carelessly and arbitrarily do everything. Especially being very careful for financial things.

Yeah. They are third party websites and can be compromised for personal attacks.

The only reason that the other address is linked to their main address is because they send it to their final address to do whatever they want like sell, trading and more. Even signature campaign cheaters are even caught because it goes to the same address. I think that knowing how they scam helps yourself keeping your protection safer but still if we made a mistake then it's a different story.

I would never rely on such  services to avoid scams, just because someone isn't on the list doesn't mean they are not a scammer. By personal rules are to not deal with any sort of fresh accounts or companies without reputation, unless they go first on their end of the deal. The second rule is to check for the recent reviews. The third rule is to insist on escrow if they don't want to go first and you don't trust them enough to risk your money.

They are not meant to trust every address not listed there (LOL) but to not trust the ones listed. I would rely on them in order to not send any money to any of the addresses flagged there: your logical reasoning "an address/project is not there = it is safe" is flawed; it's basic logic.

Thanks for making the list. But since few website allow anyone to make report or don't have clear quality control, please add warning that the report might be inaccurate or don't have enough information. For example at https://www.bitcoinabuse.com/reports/bc1qxfyh98k0xlnzkgl44p3eqznfspqfv95qsqr5re, his comment is "another idiot...." followed by foreign language which isn't very helpful.

Sites like this may help to avoid scams because members of the public can check the address out to know if it belongs to a scammer or not, but most scammers are smart and will not make use of one address they just generate wallet addresses at will.
