It isn't enough to work smart or be a hard workig employee,
Both of them could make you successful but you need to learn how to control your money.
Having a good partner would also be a huge advantage on your success.
Working hard or being a smart worker wouldn't make you successful if you are spending more than you can afford.

if your a hard working floor cleaner. then you are not smart enough to invest in a better mop-brush (double length) that can do the work in half the time. so doing it the standard hard way means your losing

if your an investor. if your making manual trades where you have to manually analyse the data before making a decision. you are taking too long and missing opportunities. be smart. find some fundamental rules that you want to use as deciders. and then program a bot do fulfil those orders in split seconds instead of minutes. smart is better

being more efficient is smart and less hard work. and will get you recognised as a BETTER worker.
yep if a floor is spotless in 20 minutes. and a neighbouring store is spotless in 2 hours. the smart worker that knows how to clean with only 20 minutes of labour gets the recognition. the 2 hour worker will get replaced by someone that can do it in 1 hour.. and save the company half its labour cost

there is nothing wrong with hard work. but if you cant be bothered to make your job more efficient. then you are only hurting yourself

i have never worked sweeping/moping floor. but every time i pass a floor cleaner working hard. i look at their mop-broom and see they can do the work in half the time with a 2x size mop-broom.
it didnt take hard work for me to notice this. it just took smarts

I think that in life you need physical labor, mental labor and such labor where you need to use the strength of the spirit and your character. Development can be obtained anywhere, you just need a different experience - situations in which you cannot survive without mind, without character, etc. Money is just a temporary measure of the value of things/services, but your personal skills that you have acquired through your work are for life. The only that matter is how much have you earn in doing the smart work., if you are not earning as much as you did with hard work then it doesn't matter. Its the money that you get that counts. injury, muscle strains. time off to recuperate.. hard work is not always good for the body
yes lazy work(9 hours in a chair pushing pencils)is worse. but smart work is not office lazyness

smart work can get the job done faster/more efficient without strain. meaning new options:
ask for payrise
ask to go home early to enjoy more leisure time
get paid the same but work less hours

If the floor cleaner thinks smarth then he will increase the size of the stick as you mentioned so that he can reduce the time by half, what I mean working hard is, if the cleaner increased the mop size and made the things work faster then he can complete the work in 1/4 than usual that is what I am talking about working smart and hard, because time is precious so one who use it effectively can be successful sooner.

Both smart work and hard work can determine us to succeed. You can get the reward for doing both in the future because success needs time to get it. NONE OF THE ABOVE because we need both of them for us to be successful , Smart can be good but without hard work the effect is less.

Same as if we are hardworker but not so smart because people can fool us and may buy our product in lower value ..

Having this both will turns you to become rich , specially if you have a good heart for others.

it is smart work for me , I have tried being a hard working person but always not enough for me to Gain what i want to be.
Until i start using the smart way , I studied a lot about things that i will enter  Specially in work , and then apply the smart way than the hard of working and guess what? i was promoted for just 6 months , from day forward i always keep the smart strategy than harder one.
