a father running from the authority is using bitcoin to cover his tracks while running from the authorities for kidnapping his daughter since 2019.

I decided to post it here to also spread awareness and for the people who might be in the area and might have come across this dude.

these kinds of criminal activity would definitely put bitcoin in another bad light(not that I really care what they think) again especially when it helps the criminal cover its tracks. but it is funny when they said that bitcoin is untraceable when the technology behind bitcoin was the reason why hundreds of paedophile around the world were arrested.

But obviously majority of us don't used crypto this way and it's just a small percentage. But those no coiners or at least those who don't like crypto will spin this narrative to portray it as something that criminals have been using for their illicit activities. Bitcoin is not an outright threat to fiat. Fiat remains fiat and can never be replaced by bitcoin. Because in truth bitcoin is only a revolutionary digital currency which is another option for today's more modern payment problems. Governments have their respective regulations and every government in the world has different regulations regarding the application of bitcoin in their country. Some of the people who scare about bitcoin are those who are against bitcoin and really intend to drop bitcoin. The media seems to emphasize or relate the use of Bitcoin in these illegal activities while there are a lot of abuse and things like these happening with the use of fiat. I mean, that also means they are ordering food and that is delivered to their place, right? If not they could just narrow those platforms using Bitcoin as a payment method. They don't need to trace the exact Bitcoin address.

Although some point out that the guy is some kind of IT expert and uses BTC, it is not at all a question of whether he can be found, it is just a question of how high his case is on the priority list, and who the people involved in the investigation are. No matter how well he hides his tracks, unless he lives somewhere outside of civilization (which is not the case), it is certain that he leaves even a small digital trail because he still can't live 100% of paying with BTC - he has to convert it to fiat to bought food and paid bills.

The fact that he uses BTC (if that’s true at all) will actually be a reason to catch him, because paying with cash is an ideal way to stay under the radar. One of the complete nonsense that people still believe in is the complete anonymity of BTC transactions, so some are very unpleasantly surprised when the police show up at their door because they were doing something illegal and thought BTC was protecting them from the law.
