2011–2012
In 2011, the price started at $0.30 per bitcoin, growing to $5.27 for the year. The price rose to $31.50 on 8 June. Within a month, the price fell to $11.00. The next month it fell to $7.80, and in another month to $4.77.
In 2012, bitcoin prices started at $5.27, growing to $13.30 for the year. By 9 January the price had risen to $7.38, but then crashed by 49% to $3.80 over the next 16 days. The price then rose to $16.41 on 17 August, but fell by 57% to $7.10 over the next three days.

2013–2016
In 2013, prices started at $13.30 rising to $770 by 1 January 2014.
In 2014, prices started at $770 and fell to $314 for the year. On 30 July 2014, the Wikimedia Foundation started accepting donations of bitcoin.
In 2015, prices started at $314 and rose to $434 for the year. In 2016, prices rose and climbed up to $998 by 1 January 2017.

2017–2019
Prices started at $998 in 2017 and rose to $13,412.44 on 1 January 2018, after reaching its all-time high of $19,783.06 on 17 December 2017.
China banned trading in bitcoin, with first steps taken in September 2017, and a complete ban that started on 1 February 2018. Bitcoin prices then fell from $9,052 to $6,914 on 5 February 2018. The percentage of bitcoin trading in the Chinese renminbi fell from over 90% in September 2017 to less than 1% in June 2018.
For the first six months of 2018, $761 million worth of cryptocurrencies was reported stolen from exchanges.

2020
In August 2020, MicroStrategy invested $250 million in bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset. In October 2020, Square, Inc. put approximately 1% of their total assets ($50 million) in bitcoin. In November 2020, PayPal announced that all users in the US could buy, hold, or sell bitcoin using PayPal. On 30 November 2020, bitcoin hit a new all-time high of $19,860 topping the previous high from December 2017. Alexander Vinnik, founder of BTC-e, was convicted and sentenced to 5 years in prison for money laundering in France while refusing to testify during his trial. In December 2020 Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company announced it has purchased $100 million in bitcoin, or roughly 0.04% of its general investment account.

2021-Present
On 19 January 2021 Elon Musk placed #Bitcoin in his Twitter profile tweeting "In retrospect, it was inevitable", which caused the price to briefly rise about $5000 in an hour to $37,299. On 25 January 2021 Microstrategy announced it continued to buy bitcoin and as of the same date it had holdings of ₿70,784 worth $2.38 billion. On 8 February 2021 Tesla's announcement that it had purchased $1.5 billion in bitcoin and planned to start accepting bitcoin as payment for vehicles pushed the bitcoin price to an all time high of $44,141. On 18 February 2021, Elon Musk said that "owning bitcoin was only a little better than holding conventional cash, but that the slight difference made it a better asset to hold".

It's a possibility or not and it could be even higher than $100k if we are looking at the stock-to-flow model that everyone was theorized. I am hoping we could get onto that level and I'm more positive on that since there are institutional investors really hopping into the cryptocurrency space.

Can it? Yes. Will it? We have no idea. Any different answer to this one is pure speculation and personal belief.

Too many factors are influencing its price. One of the main ones are its immaturity as a market. Immaturity makes it swing wildly all the time. If you take a look at some advices on TradingView, you'd see that the opinions are split. Whatever happens depends on a lot of conditions we can't accurately predict.

Honestly, speaking in the previous Years, I doubt that the Bitcoin price will touch up to $30K, and I'm thinking that $20K is the highest price ever that Bitcoin can attain. And my reason is simple it's already expensive to acquire that most of the users cannot afford to buy it. But I was wrong because it has already breached the $56K price level thats why I convince that the Bitcoin price increases are always possible and the $100K per Bitcoin at the end of the year 2021 is very likely to happen because Bitcoin price today is already halfway with that speculated amount.

It can, but it is uncertain. As mentioned by 20kevin20, there are a lot of factors affecting the market as a whole. The market had been swinging up and down and even TA's fail to be reliable due to the market's volatility. The current bull-market had been stagnant for about a week now swinging around $50k and no one is sure whether it will continue to rise or the biggest market correction will occur which will end the bull season. It may not happen sooner than what others speculate but in due time as we reach the peak of mass adaptation we might see BTC price soar that high.

What more can we ask for though, we have more than double the previous all time high in 2017.

So it's just a question of when, can we do it this 2021? In any case, I would suggest others to read this thread, Stock-to-Flow Model: Modeling Bitcoin's Value with Scarcity by @fillippone. This model plots $100k or even higher, just be cautious though not to used it for short term trading.

I think it's not only possible but also likely either because the Stock to flow model seems to be still working and Btc price is within its range but also because of recent "istitutional FOMO" into bitcoin of which this one Norwegian-oil-mogul-sets-up-58-million-entity-to-buy-bitcoin is only the latter example.

your opinion that bitcoin will hit $ 100K by the end of the year may be sooner than expected. because last year the sharp increase created ATH, of course, because @elonmusk and its Tesla company bought up bitcoins. There is a possibility that other companies will also follow, maybe even brokers and @elonmusk fans, which we know that @elonmusk's followers are enormous.

this year is actually the Halving effect that will occur, but it has been made to move earlier than last year's @elonmusk effect and is still moving until now, where the beginning of the year should be a correction, but it happened very quickly and continues to increase. currently bitcoin has stabilized in the desired range before increasing from the halving effect.

With the current price of BTC in the market, it could reach $100k in the last quarter of this year may be the 1st to the second quarter of next year. If the current price won't move from $40,000+. Because right now, the other big-time companies are just waiting for the right time to invest big time in Bitcoin. When the time they put another billion dollars of BTC, that's when the price resume to increase and that would be possible because we have seen it before. It was the time when the price was shy to cross $20,000 and when it did, it reaches up to $50,000.

But If i were to answer ? lets see breaking 60,000$ first then we'll go that far next.

Asking for 100k is far too much for me (Personally) we have seen the 2017 effect of the recent halving and made a hype up to 20,000$

and this year from 2020 halving we have seen almost 60,000 so i believe that we can be maxed at 70,000$ before the bear take the territory .

If we based on S2F model. $100,000 is on the range for this cycle, but $20,000 too. That's why, it's either $20,000 will happen first or $100,000.
S2F model really proven especially if you compare it with previous prices especially on every Bitcoin block halving.

I think there is no possible regarding with the market previously I didn't expect that the bitcoin will come up into its previous price of 50k if the price of the bitcoin comes up again with the 55k USD there is a chance it will go into another part of the 60k USD and road to 100k USD but again I think this is just speculation there are a lot of things needed to consider to give it back to the desired amount. I don't know why you posted all those 2011-2012,2013-2016 and 2017-2019 price patterns.
Is that the evidence to prove your point about Bitcoin going to 100K USD in 2021?
The 2021 Bitcoin price has nothing to do with the 2011 Bitcoin price or the 2013 and 2017 Bitcoin price.
The market is different now.We have institutional investors,not Mt.Gox.The only thing,that is certain for all those years is that Bitcoin is volatile and it will always be.
The price might go to 100K,or it might go in the opposite direction back to 30K USD.Nobody knows what will happen.

I think 2022 will be the bear market year where bitcoin price will correct from 250,000 to 75,000$ or something like this. This is based upon the 4 year bitcoin cycle which we see every 4 years. So bitcoin will easily reach 100K within 2021.

It has never been a problem this is just pure speculation we are making to predict the price of bitcoin at the end of this year.
$ 50k at current prices but it is still in the first quarter so it is possible that this could reach the point we have analyzed, as long as the market is in good shape this year I believe bitcoin price could reach $ 100k by the end of the year or even more.

I looked analytically at what I could and saw some important people have to say about how the future price of bitcoin could brighten it because of the high demand and also some institutions are now involved in this.

There is a possibility that Bitcoin price may hit $100k in this year based on some recent reason happening in the crypto space, back then there's was not an institutional investment and few people give an audience to price speculation, now the market volatility is high with high market capitalisation so it affect the price of bitcoin vividly, I think the high demand of bitcoin will possibly make it hit $100k this year maybe towards ending of the year.
