Good for you to have bought it at a good price, but you also need to be wary in case if the price drops then it is very likely that XRP will be unable to keep the current price. If you want to be more secure I recommend locking the funds just leave the rest and hold it.

Valuable because of price and nothing more. IT's got a lot of potential in terms of utility for banks, but honestly, none of the banks adopting it has used XRP itself to my knowledge, which means the markets will never benefit from a demand for XRP.

And with all the dumping over the years, how can it ever climb above $1 again?

There's no people can predict the future and this is the reason why the future of ripple will be totally depend on the what news that will be released tomorrow, next month or even next year.
There are only some answers for this and ripple could alive or dead.
people are betting on the ripple caused by when ripple can win the case and they have expected more than 4x return as the lowest ROI that can be achieved by ripple.
The future will depend on how good ripple face the allegation.

We have learned a lot from past; and we do not want to miss this one, once before already being denied by ourselves to invest; specially as negative news bombarding now sometime regarding xrp; sure it is on the decision on SEC, that, as in tweeter analysis and news, now can be detected. Inevitable is SEC  abortion of the case against ripple, as since 2012 major years until charges 2019 being legitimate in billions, not to mention big investors, big projects and also testing project and intro of implementation to a new digital euro base platform to be born under xrp technology most likely; and finally,  xrp stagnated as bitcoin and ethereum in gains: actually, XRP with no interference of this kind should by calculation against btc and eth now have a value of  a price 9,375usd per xrp; but as it can happen soon; and more, with the upgrades it can start up at least double that price .....xrp will continue nevertheless of the US SEC...

Ripple is the coin for news, speculation, policies and law regulations. You can not be safe with Ripple if you buy, hold it and forget it for years. Your portfolio and its balance might be fallen to the figure that you won't imagine. The coin has some good rallies as dead cat bounces but it won't happen too regularly. You must know of the very high number of investors whom were unfortunately stucked in Ripple and still wait for its return to the all time high 4 years ago.

In addition, delist from big exchanges is another trouble for Ripple. Real delisting news and drama around can put the price falling down much more.

based on my prediction, i think ripple (XRP) will be worth $3-5 in 5 years, because i think the progress of XRP will keep increasing in a such a long time,
there's a big possibility than ripple can really go BOOM in 5 years, i think 5 years is too long, maybe in 2024 ripple already can reach $3+.

yes it's still valuable but also keep declining its price compared to BTC, even if you see at the chart XRP is currently near at the lowest point of its price to BTC and that means XRP can't keep up with btc rally while other coin could.
I can't see any bright future for XRP but I hope you bought it using USDT not BTC lol.

At this moment charts are in favor on xrp as it struggles against others;
but SEC did  its part to harm; question is as they have their own - against them charges, as let people invested to xrp, knowing as - they are now claiming to be security - that they allowed...

Ripple could be at $5 in 5 years. The fact that it is not growing like the other cryptos is because Ripple does not lose its hold on mining XRP tokens. Ripple Labs takes a majority of the stake in mining XRP tokens and until it gives that much stake to the people, it will not grow. Besides this, people are looking for other cryptos that are booming in the market like Litecoin, Ethereum, Cardano, and many more. Ripple stands no chance to beat them at present because it is not performing well for the last few years. Still, it can grow with time.

No question with potential if this project still exist for that time frame, with the issue with sec and with too much competitions inside this industry,

We can't really trace how every project will perform, it's beyond the developing team and the support of each traders and investors to pull the trigger, without any it's tough to reach that amount.

The only matter now is to wait and see if how the issue from SEC will resolved and what are those inside the road map that will achieved.
