Seeing how bitcoin has remained in the bull nature for this lengthy period, i can only but say that you hold. People are expecting the price of bitcoin to drop to a 39k level but that is just limited to technical analysis which can be over driven by fundamental analysis. just hold. So I bought BTC at £9000, made a nice amount. Is it a good idea to now sell this and move that money into alt coins? or should I sell half BTC and buy back in after alt season is finished?
What do you think?

It's already a huge profit, so you could sell your bitcoin already it doesn't matter since you could always reinvest that money when the price of bitcoin dump in the future or when the bull run ends. It's difficult for a lot of investors to sell at the peak of the bull run of the bitcoin and only a few percent of investors actually do that. Maybe selling by portion could be a good thing maybe 15% every time the market price continues to pump also so could always earn a profit because you already made a good profit by holding for a long time actually. You could hold for a bit just decide on an exit strategy because for sure there will be a dump for sure or else plan to sell it on a higher price value around 200k$.

I am not longer holding bitcoin and always take short term to buy or sell bitcoin, if have chance for selling bitcoin on higher price like yesterday I will sell my bitcoin, but keep buy back when bitcoin going down. I think is better every time my earning increase and I could use for another investment and could get profit again, if keep holding on bitcoin only maybe I have been more patient waiting when bitcoin really touch higher price.
That's sad if you're no longer holding bitcoin. Well, you have the point about selling and making profit and being short-term on it. But it's best if you can have yourself a favor for being long-term on it. But if the problem is about being patient then choose what you prefer and works better and you've done that already.

You can sell some amount of it for securing your profit or you can wait more and observe the movements of the price closely. And when it starts dropping at a high pace, you can sell it to prevent yourself from going into the red. It is actually not a thing for me or any other people to give an advice as you should decide by yourself. all humans are not immune from the mistakes they make, so it is not true that they don't need advice. just a suggestion is fine even though later it is himself who will decide whether to do it or not. Your suggestion to observe the movements carefully is the right thing and needs to be done, because it could be that the decline continues not to be hindered, so you can take actions to stem so that there is no loss that becomes even greater. but seeing the trend of bitcoin so far, there shouldn't be excessive fear, because bitcoin has always been doing this from last year. bitcoin will continue to increase until the end of the year. If you get bitcoin results from 2018 you should let some of it go because you have made a big profit and don't be too greedy because it could be detrimental.

Well its really up to you, you've made some good profit - so selling some is okay. I would sell half and put it into altcoins, but its really up to you. Have you heard of XTP?

Depends, what is your goal? $60k ? $100k? or maybe $1million.
Always set your own target, so you will not lose ur opportunity to sell.
When i decided to invest on something, i always set my own target so even the price rise after i sell i will not regret it.

If you feel that you have lost an asset because you have sold at the lowest price and bought at a high price, my advice is to do Cutloss to minimize losses. I think the current price hasn't reached its highest value yet, there are still other high prices. For that, always use the long-term method by putting some of the assets you have.
I suggest not doing it if you can able to hold it and if you believe that Bitcoin will move high again. Instead of selling it at loss, much better to buy more, it is a way of early recovery. But if we are short-term holders, we'd rather have to grab every high opportunity to sell and buy back again once it dumps. OP is already in the profit and the decision is good, and I do the same if I'm in his position.

I agree with your strategy, I also implement things like that. do it when you get profit and buy when it goes down. This kind of thing is classic but minimizes the risk of loss, so instead of holding long term but getting a price trap it's better short term but running all the time

That's only logical because selling them would be profit and if that is what you see fit, then I commend you for being brave on selling them because most of the users right now wanted to stock up on their Cryptocurrencies because they are waiting for another ATH. Buying them at their dips is somewhat risky because we are not really sure if that dip is the most efficient time to stock up on Crypto's so buying them would depend on your gut feeling.

Its your choice but most of the forum members might tell you to hold, but make you should base your decisions with proper understanding of the market. Make you sure that you will decide with confidence and will not blame yourself or others for a bad outcome your decision but as long as you already made profit your good.

You should never sell all your bitcoin, look how far we’ve come since 2009. Fiat currencies are in quick sand, why would you want to convert it all into fiat? Stay away from alts, most are crap.

You have made good profit in your btc so there is nothing wrong if you decided to sell now, but it would have been better if you can keep maybe %40 and sell the rest, if btc will still hit the $100k target I don't think you want to miss out.

An answer to the current market situation and the price development is not possible with certainty. If you want to sell Bitcoin, you have to gain experience and over time you will find that the price of the Internet currency changes sharply again and again. That is why you have to ask yourself the question "Sell or hold Bitcoin?"

Stay away from alts, most are crap. - I know that bitcoin can go further each year but that is not as important as your goal, you are here to make money, if you don't sell your bitcoin, your money is virtual currency and has no service for your life. However, selling it all at one point is never the right decision, the opportunity in bitcoin is like a lottery game, we are forced to split bitcoin for sale at peak times and spend the rest betting on further futures, maybe it's a bit risky or it's a bit of regret but it's still better than being stubborn in a choice when the choices are always very risky.

i am crypto optimist and believe (as many analysis show and most people predict) BTC will grow in 6-digit price later this year or in the beginning of 2022 and will probably (most likely be) anywhere between 200-500K in the next cycle. however i am not greedy and know very well that there is a realistic percentage (1-2-5% who know) that things turn in the wrong direction. i mean no interest in bitcoin, many goverments ban etc. in this case it will be worth nothing and you will have something with no value. you will have nothing while some months or years ago you have had a fortune. so i decided back in 2017 during past ATH that I would hold my coins and sell it all when price hits 100 K or close to this level. that's my limit. later on if price follows past halvings patterns I will buy back at dip approximately same amount of BTC i have now. I appreciate all your optimism and truly share it...however keep in mind nothing in life is sure and eternal. so don't let the greed spoil your life and future and please put yourself a personal limit.

It depends on the goal of the traders whether if its long term or short term. But you are right about your statement above. You can't have profit unless you convert or take your profit in BTC. This is the common mistake of traders, They are becoming greedy when price is rising then FOMO when they sold which is the reason why most of traders never sold in profit.

It depends on you mate,if you badly need it then you can sell a bit and leave something to hold as bitcoins price keep on rising ,we all want here is to profit and if you sell half of it I think it's ok as long as this came from what you gain from your investments your ROI.

Congrats for buying bitcoin at such cheap rate. If I were you I would have sold all my bitcoin at 60k and wait for return of bearish market. Bitcoin can make wild swings in all directions, its better to quit if you are getting huge profits.
