I am more shocked at your surprise rather than the news you shared because it is nothing new. There have always been lots of businesses that accept bitcoin as payment which always included hotels too.
Additionally news like this become more common whenever bitcoin is in a bull run because the increasing price has always been a good incentive for people to spend their bitcoins rather than holding on to them (compared to bear markets when most people HODL). If you check 2017 for example you can see the same trend too.

Yes, when bitcoin is in a bull run, there will inevitably be news of the adoption of certain companies or people to add customers, plus in this pandemic their income is so minimal that they change new ways to use bitcoin or other crypto for payments.
Another reason when bitcoin increases, the growth of new users will increase and there is a lot of advertisement or good news everywhere about bitcoin, whatever the reason the company makes its transaction method using bitcoin or other crypto will still be converted to fiat.
businesses will follow and adjust what trends are happening, plus during the pandemic bitcoin or other crypto can be used as promising revenue and can be used as online transactions without touching.

Nothing unexpected, I guess those new to the community would be quite surprised since we're only a decade in and we're moving forward at quite a fast pace, but honestly you could have already expected it even way back in 2017 when people began to know about Bitcoin due to the bubble that happened. Plus, the more industries join in, the faster adoption would come since it basically spreads the attention from one industry to the next with that. It's like seeing a track being built by the ones behind it with the train speeding up.

This is an amazing feat indeed for Bitcoins now what will happen is: these hotels are a brand they are being followed by thousands of small hotels, their this news would not only make them more open towards adding bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies in a form of payment but at the same time it would have positive effect on the price. I would love to go to a place where such hotels would exists, paying them through lightning network or even paying them through normal methods would be convenient for sure..but for me bitcoins will forever be an investment, this would always be way more than their usage in buying/selling commodities. But at the end of the day I do believe that this is something that is small. We have many businesses already doing that, maybe they can add things like 10% off if you pay through Bitcoins?.

It doesn't actually shock me, since in fact i'm kinda expecting it to happen, sooner or later.
bitcoin has getting up the fame more and more lately, and of course those business won't fail to grab the opportunity and hop into the trend. It might give them some good image as well, like them being "advanced" or something, and like what you do now, they will be talked around just because they're finally accepting btc, and it might mean free advertisement.
but still, win win condition for bitcoin as well. The more people know about bitcoin and accept it, then the more bitcoin will be more known, used, and be more common. Hopefully it won't be considered illegal anymore in some places, and started to be used more.

They don't have to sell it for cash. BitPay will do it for them. There are third party services like BitPay that can help those companies that don't want to keep the payments in their original.
But instead, they're exchanging it for the favor of the company who wants to get hold of it in the "other currency" which is cash.

Bitpay makes it all possible. Businesses like hotels accepting BTC and stablecoins are entirely believable but wanting doge is pretty much funny. I like doge I have some doge but it's just too early for them to really think the coin is going to be a real investment yet since there is no assurance yet whether the quick rise of DOGE could be sustainable in the long run.

Maybe Doge coin is being exaggerated and not true to its real value, however there is no problem accepting Doge. Doge coins are still being traded on a lot of platforms, they just need to get the doge and then sell them into another currency.

More and more businesses and company have started incorporating bitcoin and other cryptocurrency into their payment system and that has lead to boom in the price and adaptation of bitcoin and the entire crypto market. Hotels around the world are now accepting digital mode of payments.

I think there are limitations in countries about the amount of hotels accepting crypto-currency, Nigeria for example you hardly find any crypto-currency that is accepting bitcoin as payment, most important is that there are people -bitcoiners- almost every where accepting bitcoin privately or low key for their payment, not counting my Chicks before they harsh, I think in many countries bitcoin as payment is not prior, but it happens and that's progress.

Although it's nothing new, it's a good sign bitcoin adoption keeps growing and that the digital currencies have a real use besides speculation, as some people still insist to claim. Now the next step in my opinion should be stores which sell daily needed products start accepting bitcoin (supermarkets for an example). Then bitcoin can start being used as currency more frequently.

For them to win the competition and with the high demand for cashless payment, they must have to adopt the new trend. This gonna be a high risk for them but we have to face it otherwise, we left behind.

From now on, I was expecting more small establishments will have to work on their crypto wallet security in preparation for acceptance. It the beginning where we can say that crypto is a currency, not just a form of investment that we use to be in the past years. I can still remember back in the day when a large cigar shop (franchise) decided to accept Bitcoin as a payment option. Everyone was excited, because that was supposed to be the event that triggered mass adoption of Bitcoin as a payment option... but as we can see now, it is still not the case.

Bitcoin will not go mainstream as a "Currency" ...if the governments of the world keep on defining it as a "Commodity"    The large companies have to adhere to the rules and guidelines of their governments and they will never do this without their approval. (Until then, companies will use Payment processors to convert Crypto back to Fiat) 

Which is why we should look for small companies adopting it, big corporations as you say cannot take risks and they are not going to do it unless they are given permission, but small companies and mom and pop stores do not have to do that since they are not as closely watched as those companies, so whenever you see a small store accepting bitcoin support them by buying something there, even if what they offer is not necessarily something that you need.

Even the travel payment here in my country is doing cashless now actually like those toll gates in freeways.
Only thing to worry about is will the adoption stay the same post-pandemic.

Not a surprise for me knowing that cryptocurrency in general is becoming mainstream already across the internet and across the world.
More and more people are knowing it and most of them sees the good side of it thus, adoption right now is going way faster than we are expected.

More and more establishments in different industries will do the same in the future. Cryptocurrency is becoming popular already although we can't consider it as a primary mode of payment since cash is still the more preferred one. I'm not excited with this news already since many did it. What I'm excited and curious with is that, when they will continue accepting cryptocurrency when the bear market comes. This is expected to happen as digital transactions are now into the mainstream and there are so many adoption happened so this kind of acceptance will probably wild spread not only with hotels but for sure in other essential services. The one I keep forward to look at in future is to see the sign Bitcoin Accepted Here in cashier booth at the grocery store.

As crypto gains more attention, expect bigger companies and institutions getting their selves involved.
