I have never heard anything like heart-felt way of learning, something new but I agree . I understand you refer "learn by heart". Yes, it is kind of requirement for trading. I do say this like make it as your habit and not just your work. When we are continuously into something by watching/monitoring/analyzing then it will become part of life and that kind of state is needed for practicing trading.

If we are ready to spend years of time to watch and develop our own strategy then we can easily become profitable trader but most traders are not having that much patience. They copy others' strategy and get into trading in matter of weeks itself.
