Some tx's going out, many stuck on 0 confirms for ~20hrs, Since Upgrading to 0.9

Since I've upgraded to 0.9, I'm seeing a lot of tx's stuck on 0 confirms, even when other tx's sent seem to have worked fine.  These were all sent at the same time, and I am seeing an alarming amount of these since the upgrade.

There seems to be no pattern I've noticed so far.  I send out to many users, some stretches I see 7-8 in a row on 0 confirms followed by 4 or 5 within seconds that seem fine, like above.

As an update, I just restarted bitcoind, and now these tx's seem to be showing with -1 confirmations.

I also have an example of one of these that was delayed almost 7hrs from time sent to time added to a block

But like I said, most are still stuck, and now showing -1

So I thought I had this solved.  Someone suggested trying the -zapwallettxes flag to clean up the -1's.  I ran it, and it seemed to do the job. It also does a rescan.  Great, so I was starting again with what seemed like a functioning wallet.  I re-ran a bunch of sends, they all eventually went out, everything seemed fine.  However a few hours later when I did a batch of sends to clean up the earlier mess, I once again have tx's that sat at 0 confirms for 6+hrs with no trace on blockchain.info.   I restarted bitcoind, and sure enough they all now show up as -1.

No idea whats going on here, nothing but problems since upgrading, and nobody seems to have any answers.  Guess I'll just try to restore an older wallet.dat and downgrade back to a 0.8 branch.

There is some serious issue with zero confirmation/stuck transactions with this new 0.9 upgrade that devs refuse to acknowledge
