I am interested in knowing what others use to have an idea of how many transactions are happening, volumes, .... Yes, i do know google exists, but I would rather have your fine human expertise on this. Large transactions would also be interesting to know about.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Coin Dance[1] is pretty much my go-to when talking about Bitcoin-related statistics in general, though some people prefer Blockchain.com's[2] charts(probably because they have better UI). Which is "better" completely depends on what specific data you actually need.

Note sure what you meant here though:
Large transactions would also be interesting to know about.

This thread has so more interesting tools for monitoring the Bitcoin network in case you are interested, both in the OP and replies - Online Tools For Bitcoin Maximalist.

I think he means transactions which transfer large amounts of bitcoins (whales transactions)!

Personally, I prefer using blockchair because their filter has many parameters which you can adjust to display only the transactions you are interested in (e.g onky show transactions > xbtc/usd) and also because they support different blockchains other than bitcoin.

Large transactions would also be interesting to know about.
The best one that I've seen so far is "ClankApp":

There's also @whale_alert on Twitter but it takes more effort if you want to view result in a certain cryptocurrency only.
- It also has a "paid version" but I can't vouch for it.
