Speaking of ADA. Nope is the brief answer to OP's question. Cardano and   Ethereum 2.0 are two  technologies that offer different approaches to dApps and particular to  smart contracts. After Goguen being fully launched I would expect the dump of ETH rather then dump of ADA after  Ethereum 2.0. I have no idea of any other competitors.
approaching the momentum of the completion of the ethereum 2.0 update there will definitely be a dump on ETH. and there is also a possibility that it will affect the altcoin market, especially the tokens that are in the ethereum chain.
the update will take quite a while, and it will take some lengthy customization to see it take effect.
ETH, ADA, and BNB I think they will continue to compete in the market. related to technology, network development, and also market capitalization.

This 3 different chain will contiue to compete as the market have lots of community supporters, it wil depends from how developers and investors see open opportunities.

They'll grab if they see that the system/chain is suitable to what they'll need, we all see how the market moves. Every project have
their own momentum, once the completion was been done there's a after effect that we might see. Either way still possiblities, concluding is not ours to dictate.

For decentralized asset, supply and demand are two thing that will determine whether they are able to compete with other asset in the market or not. However, the intended competition is not only about market cap, but the functionality of the token or coin will also determine to have more adoption. Because the three of them have different chain, the transaction fee will also be a competition to get more users.

~~~
Either way still possiblities, concluding is not ours to dictate.
True, it is the community and users who determine whether the competition is strong or not.
what can't be matched between eth & btc, is same for eth & ada i.e different test of time.
so eth is here to stay and will remain ahead of ada, ad btc is here to stay, and remains ahead of eth even with it's lacking.
I am hearing about this Ethereum 2.0 hype for more than two years. You guys need to stop beating the dead horse. ETH 2.0 to Ethereum is just like what Lightning Network is to Bitcoin. The idea may be good, but it will be very difficult to implement and only a very small number of people will end up using it. In short, it will be having hardly any impact on the ground situation. ADA and other alts will thrive in the next few years and at a point they will be strong enough to replace Ethereum from the #2 spot.
Not any good news from ADA after bitcoin break to higher price but ADA still down and not any impact with bitcoin price, but when bitcoin down ADA will have lower price and better to cut loss and check with other coin. I never interested with ADA because have many time failed to break out on higher price although support with bitcoin success back to higher price.
I don't think any Ethereum competitor will go downhill just because Ethereum launch 2.0, I don't really think Ethereum can do that either. Maybe in 2035 lol. They are here to stay and competition is healthy for everybody. Solana and Matic should be mentioned right in front of Ada. The market have enough space for all of them.
Since there are many things still need to fix with ETH that many still initiating that there will be a 2.0 version which still upto now where no where to find . I started hearing 2.0 version after its price dump from 2017 ATH and the hype keeps going without any development access or shown. It will not affect eth, ada or any other coin , it will just continuous to be just a hype of rumor unless it will really be released and if the test runs out fine.
There's a possibility that some competitors of ETH will dump but a minor dump only during or before the release of there upgraded blockchain. The development is continuous and I'm sure that they can execute it this year or next year. Ethereum devs is just working silently to avoid early hype and the annoying expectation of many bandwagon investors.
Done enough with those 2.0 talks in ETH platform.Lots of speculation floating around just like these where dumps and pumps could possibly happen once this thing launched.
We wont make out conclusions until this one launched into the market because everything would really be depending on how the community would deal with it once its already
available neither pump or dump then its up to someone on what are the decisions would be made.For now the best thing to be done is to wait up and if you can afford or can risk out
then its not bad to make out some considerations.
I don't think real competitors would be dumped but wannabe competitors may go down. Ethereum is not a monopoly, there are a lot of smart contract, proof of stake and nft platforms. When you think about bigger picture, crypto space is still too small comparing to whole world's financial system. It will grow exponentially just like Bitcoin did. So there are a lot of space for all these coins.
And if these eth competitors show that they really do have working and efficient platforms, I don't think they will easily be dumped. If they have great features for the project and they are really helping in the project's implementation of their objectives, then I don't see any reason that they will just abandon that particular network. But definitely, these devs will compare the pros and cons with their current network vs the new version of eth. Many people still go to eth even if they have high fees, so when they improve gas efficiencies, high chance that a lot will go back to eth.
I do think that Ethereum has the monopoly in the market as there are other chains that are available for years and we have not seen many projects that are using their platforms, the only time we saw some migrations was when the transaction charges of Ethereum started to frustrate the developers and they were forced to move to other chains with lower transaction fees.
I do not think that the projects that jumped from ETH will return even if the magical ETH 2.0 is implemented and functioning as they say.
Or will they remain stable at least?
I think I like ADA anything better than what Eth can bring out. However I hold both. I started out with more eth but have just been stacking ADA because I like staking it for passive income.
You guys have any thoughts on this?
For sure ethereum 2.0 will be a great opportunity to start pumping.  That is why there will be a large number of altcoins from an investor base, whose predictions will depend on the success and promise of the demo features of ETH 2.0.  However, keep in mind that the market has a lot of leverage, but that day will be very bright, but I am quite confident with ADA, it will not be too serious.
I was sure that when Ethereum 2.0 was officially released, ADA price would not dump. Because I see that ADA already has loyal holders.
I believe ADA and ETH are very good projects for the long term investment, so don't be afraid that Ethereum 2.0 comes out will not threaten ADA.
But it must be admitted that if Ethereum 2.0 is released then the price of Ethereum will increase dramatically, so Ethereum is better than
ADA after all. Even with high enough gas fees that don't make holders leave Ethereum, even though as we know many Ethereum users have
switched to using the BSC. But the price of Ethereum can still go up today, it means that Ethereum is still a very good project for HODL.
ADA was popular long before the talks about 2.0 and it's one of those coins that will remain in the top.
For a long time I had some ADA and kept telling people that XRP, BCH and BSV are shitcoins that will never reach any real adoption and die when people see how bad they are. At that time both BCH and XRP were in the top 5 on CMC and BSV was in the top 10. 2 years later XRP is 7, BCH is 14, BSV is 30 and this won't last. They are going to go even lower.
ADA and ETH are both strong and important coins. They will still be here in a year or 2, don't worry.
The release of Eth2 will make users also shift to it once they see there is a great improvement, particularly to the transaction fees. We know ADA has still a lot of room to grow, its the money to make with ETH that makes decisions change. ETH could likely doubled its price when ETH2 is alive while they could also buy ADA back right when there is something new that will happen.
It will depend on the sentiment of the people.
As you know, prices are driven not only by news but the sentiments of the investors of it. If they see ETH 2.0 as a good thing and then there might be some ADA holders that will dump ADA and will buy ETH. On the other hand, if they aren't satisfied with the upgrade of ETH and they feel disappointed then they might sell some ETH and stack some ADA or other coins that they want to buy.
After all, both ETH and ADA are good coins and they are there for a long time already. Both of the coins are having an upgrade after upgrade and both are evolving each year. Better to just hold both of them like I'm doing right now and currently staking both of them Smiley. Passive income.
The problem is when? No ETA and there will be no exact date about when the update will be arriving soon. ADA is good but BSC is far superior compared with ADA.
Miners didn't wanna see ethereum move to the POS and the creation of a new EIP will make the upgrade to the ethereum protocol will be even longer than before.
This is the problem that must be fixed by both ethereum developers and miners or more people will be moving to another chain.
If Ethereum 2.0 comes out then Gas problem in Eth network is solved then people will back into Eth because lot of Projects are using Eth network.New Network like ADA and others will not occupy market ,it takes so many time.
