If you are using a RX 470/480 and 570 GPU with a modded Bios in Windows, you need to use the pixel patcher or you will see a code 43 error for the GPU in the Windows Device Manager.

https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher

More info here: https://mining.help

I have good results on RX XXX GPU's using the PBE v1.62 'one click timing patch' Bios mod. It automatically detects each memory type and adjusts the 1750 MHz and up straps with the bundled performance straps. PBE 1.6.1 adjusts from the 2000 MHz and up straps. PBE v1.6.3 and up adjusts the straps from 1500 MHz and up, but the 1750 MHz straps are more stable. You should only use the PBE 'one click timing patch' Bios mod with the original Bios from the card.

PBE is no longer maintained, but the forum member Matthev has developed a similar program and can help you with a Bios mod for your card.

Thanks for your reply. I am actually trying to find the original BIOS, not a modded BIOS. I received the card with the BIOS already messed up (which cannot be used at all) so I am trying to return it to working mode. I know the hardware itself is working fine. The fan turns on, GPU detectable and BIOS flashable.

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/192936/sapphire-rx470-8192-161220
This BIOS has the following memory types
8192 MB, GDDR5, Autodetect
8192 MB, GDDR5, Samsung K4G80325FB
8192 MB, GDDR5, Micron MT51J256M32HF
I would not flash a video card with a BIOS that lacks support for the required memory.
Try to write to the official technical support. Write that the card is not under warranty, but you bought it from a miner and want to use it for games.
Or install atikmdag-patcher.

You are taking risk of bricking your cards, why don't you download phoenix miner and activate -rxboost to get boost on your gpu without BIOS modding it? My rx580 is doing 30MH range and it's micron memory type

I received the card in the condition that none of the 4 BIOS are working. So I'm trying to fix it by applying the original BIOS. I'm not even looking to boost the hashrate but rather just get the card working normally first.

I have tried the above BIOS and it does not work. I tried flashing on 2 different PCs and they still just show 0/0 GPU and memory clock. What I need is the E388 BIOS which seems very rare since most cards are E387, E353 and E347. I read that E353 should be similar to E388 so I tried all of the E353 BIOS and none of them works.

I try to avoid flashing BIOS that lacks support for the Micron memory but none of them works.

I wrote to their tech support and they couldn't be much of help unless I can provide at least one of the original working BIOS.

Thanks for everyone's reply!

Once again, I carefully read your post, and it seems to me that you are looking for a problem in the wrong place.
If the BIOS check does not pass, then you will get an error in Windows, which is solved by installing the patch atikmdag-patcher.
I have also seen limited edition graphics cards, which can be called a manufacturing defect. The GPUs didn’t run at more than 1150 MHz, so they had a special version of the BIOS to keep the video card running at lower settings, and for mining these cards were a great solution.

OK so I've tried this BIOS https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/192936/sapphire-rx470-8192-161220 along with the atikmdag-patcher and it's still showing 0/0 GPU and Memory clock. I'm not sure if the hardware itself could be causing the issue but the thing is the GPU fan runs normally, it's detectable and flashable as well so I thought it couldn't be a hardware problem.

Question:
- Do I need to DDU and reinstall drivers after each flash?
- Do I need to shutdown after each flash or restarting is enough?
- What could possibly cause the 0/0? And if there's a special BIOS for these "manufacturing defect" cards, the BIOS which runs 1150MHZ and lower should theoretically work correct? Assuming it has the same Micron memory.

Thanks for your help!

Hi

i will tell how i am managing such cases.
Find another card just like the damaged one with same memory type.
Put those 2 cards on the board and start windows, it probably will show 1 gpu and 1 with problems or just 1 but the other will be still detectable from atiflash tool.
Use ATIwin flash(ATIFLASH) to download the BIOS from the healthy card.
atiflash -s 0 bios.rom
Use Polaris bios editor to OC the bios and save the new bios.
Flash the non working card with atiflash .
atiflash -p 1 biosModed.rom
I never used moded bios from techpowerup they just don't work, but at least here are all option of atiflash exe
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/how-to-use-atiflash.57750/
Just restart windows is enough.

Cheers

No need to reinstall drivers after BIOS flashing. Restarting the computer after flashing the BIOS is enough.
I just wrote to you only my assumption, in fact, there can be many reasons for this behavior.
For example, damage to the SMD element on the video card board.
In such situations, it may be worth looking for a good video card repairman.
