Because the password is not stored in wallet.dat files, you cannot recover your password from it. However, the private keys inside the wallet file are encrypted with the password (in one block IIRC, not each one individually), so if you can extract the area of the wallet file - which is just a Berkeley DB database actually - which contains them you can attempt to try random combinations of passwords that will decrypt the private keys.
