Been doing some homework on the implementation of SAFE Validators.

The warm up / cooldown period is 3 epochs, each being around 2 to 3 days each.

If 50% of all coins get staked (as with Solana and the previous SafeNodes) then the annual return will be:

Emissions: 1,440 x 4 = 5,760 SAFE / day

Staked 50%: 15M SAFE

Earnings per SAFE Staked: 5,760 / 15M = 0.000384 x 365 = 0.14 SAFE per annum

Return: 14% per annum on whatever SAFE you delegate to a Validator

These figures are approximate, but I think they're close.

A few technical issues with the YouTube feed at the start, but after that, all good

For anyone that missed it, you can run a validator from as little as 10 safecoins however you will need 10,000 safecoins in order for it to take part in the voting/rewards system.

The validator code release will be in 2 to 3 days, however this is a "soft" release and there will not be any rewards, this is to prevent the "early mover" advantage.

After approximately 7 days a validator update will release that will enable the rewards system.

So i'm just speculating.... but the entry level 10,000 safecoins to have a fully working voting Validator is the situation from the start, but with Solana, only the firxt X amount of validators take part in the voting, I wonder, as the network grows, what that number would be for SafeCoin Validators?

I'm testing out a disaster recovery rebuild of a validator, assuming total loss. Basically a complete rebuild, then a restore of the .json keys, then validator start up. I dont expect any problems.

Disaster Recovery Test Results: Rebuilding validator and just re-creating .json files was enough to restart the new validator as the old identity, all coins/votes/identity intact. IP change had no impact on functionality.
