Let's Discuss

I don't know if this is the right place to put this but, I just want to put my feelings out as I feel with learning being a process, discussion is actually a vital part of that process and its much better should people know how to actually discuss. On the thread, I'm just going to put up one important fact while the rest is up for you guys to say as your pleased. The point I'm putting to the table is , discussion;

100% point of view: No two person can see a thing exactly from the same angle even standing at the same spot. In that same way, no two persons can view a thing or have a thought pattern around a thing the same exact way. There is always a room for contradiction and that's what discussion actually presents people with. The chance to air out contradicting views and thought pattern about a topic or article and gradually get an understanding of each others view points.

Its not okay to see to completely rule out other possibilities or suggestions on a topic or article if you haven't subjectively looked at it and discussed it in vivid with the originator of the idea and you both got an understanding and agreement to on the idea. Its not okay still to see someone else's idea as dumb if you haven't been able to be at their view point and fir you to do that, for you to think from their perspective,  you've got to discuss it vividly with them as to why, what, how, when and a lot of those question patterns.

Learning is discussion and we discuss to learn. So, let's discuss.

Exactly why this forum was made for, open discussions that lead to acquiring knowledge. But it's one thing to be open-minded towards other's suggestions, and quite another to accept any ludicrous idea that someone can present, so it's a balancing act between openness and complete suffocation of the communication channels. Person-to-person discussions tend to be better because people do not hide behind a screen and more thoughtfully consider the things they will say.

The point of a discussion is to present your data and facts from your subjective point of view, and allowing the other parties to do the same. Unless you are open-minded, you will never come to terms with the fact that other people might have better insights and eventually make you change your mind. That's what an down to earth individual should accept. You draw certain conclusions from the presented ideas, and you don't stick to your stubborn attitude if you have been proven wrong. Sadly, not everyone knows how to take part in a civilized discussion, be it online or face to face.

I don't know if this is the right place to put this

As said, this is the forum for. To discuss. To ask, to present ideas, to find out others' opinions.. to discuss.
The right place? It depends on what you want to discuss about. The forum has quite a number of boards where the topics can be created/discussed. The reason for this is that people will keep track only of the areas of interest.

Since you didn't ask any newbish Bitcoin question yet  Smiley imho for now the topic is not really "Beginners & Help", instead it seems more suited for Off-Topic or maybe Politics & Society.

There are lots of people or users lets say here in forum are have too much pride to accept that they are in a wrong page of their belief. Anyway we have our own different ideas, just like OP said, we have different approach to such discussion and for some who find it difficult to accept fault, don't be like that. If someone corrected you even its a lower rank than you, then accept it. Its not gonna lose you an ounce of superiority or what right.

I get your point, but in comes a point where someone is objectively wrong. Imagine having a discussion about how Bitcoin, has the biggest amount of users in the world when compared to other currencies. Its verifiable wrong to state that, so if someone was trying to put that point across, they are wrong, and therefore no matter the point of view they are looking at it from, it doesn't matter.

This is a poor example, and I can't think of a better one right now, but I hope that you understand the point I'm trying to make. It doesn't matter what point of view someone is looking at if its objectively wrong. However, when it comes to opinion, or speculation based discussions, of course there is always going to be alternative views, which is what makes discussion so great.

An example of this, would be how a rich man might view Bitcoin as a risky asset to invest in, however a person from a poor background, might see the volatility of Bitcoin as a positive, and a way of earning money quick enough to help their family.

Let's see the definition of discussion in dictionary.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/dictionary.cambridge.org/amp/english/discussion

It describes and explains what discussion is. The forum respect freedom of speech so discussions here are very close to definition in dictionary.

Free and opened for everyone to exchange ideas.

Just don't spam.

Op, I want to ask you if you are lecturing bitcointalk community users on how to discuss or you want to learn how to discuss? Normally the community made it very simple for the users to understand the specific board they are to post, when clicked on menu all the boards is written boldly,  so you have to select the board that's is suit to you to compose article or comments, so it's very simple.

Yeah, i get the idea your putting out and its a very important one. I once loreal a book if I recall correctly, it was by Dale Carnigie and I think the title was 'How to win friends and influence people's. It was a business strategy, being a good listener. It dealt with knowing the intentions of whom your discussing with and instead of arguing, you propose your ideas simply and in a manner that gives the other party a listening ear to talk more. That way, you put the person up to talk more about what he or she thinks for clarity and not to state all at once how absolute your ideas are and how the other party is saying things out or context if they don't agree.

Hahaha.

His words are kinda confusing. The  first line of the second paragraph explained exactly what he meant to say, about people having different opinions.

OP, Being able to accommodate and give users the opportunity to say what's on their mind is what this forum is all about. Every forum is all about discussion and same is this. For me, so far a post or comment is right in track, whatever contributions matters, nobody is shutting anyone up.
