Tesla now accepts Bitcoin

Tesla has reflected their bitcoin payment terms and FAQs (see below). Amongst the things they mention:

-   Prices reflected in bitcoins will vary over time (logical). They will remain stable on the site during a certain timeframe, after which they may change in any direction (i.e. if you take some time to complete the order, the bitcoin price displayed may expire, and you’ll need to retrieve a new bitcoin price).

-   Bitcoin TXs will be considered as completed after n confirmations (being n a value at Tesla sole discretion, which is obviously not going to be 1, but the concrete current n value is not reflected in the documents I’ve read so far).

-   One should pay the exact amount in bitcoins.If you pay less, you’ll need to pocket out the rest as a due amount, but if you overpay, … you will not have a right to a refund for the excessive amount! (which does not rule out they wont compromise, but the terms are the terms ...)

-   They comply with AML, and warn you that your data could be passed on to related government agencies.

-   If you require a refund (i.e. giving something back), Tesla reserves the right to decide whether they do it in bitcoin or fiat. The customer is the one that assumes the risk of depreciation (i.e. you bought a Tesla yesterday at 56K/BTC, and you might get reimbursed in fiat with a 51K/BTC ratio).

It doesn’t mean it will happen, but it may (although it would really go against making the case for paying with bitcoin).

Since Tesla invested in Bitcoin, I have predicted Tesla will adopt Bitcoin by accepting Bitcoin payments. The thing that surprised me was that Tesla

I already predict it almost a month ago And i also comment about it on bitcoin talk forum but most of the users thought that I was saying just for nothing. But lots of legendary member, hero, sr, full member also agreed with it. They say that elon mask is giving us hint that he could be accept bitcoin to purchase tesla product.  We also predicted that if elon mask approved bitcoin then god knows when bitcoin reached. Nevertheless I looked through their and didn’t find any mentions that any model of Tesla is selling in BTC.

Elon Musk made the tweet and you cannot expect them to add everything in their website as soon as he post something. Since Tesla invested billions in bitcoin it was a matter of time they started accepting bitcoin and other similar coins to purchase their products. The funny thing is that everyone i asking Elon Musk is whether he will be allowing Doge coin  .

If Tesla can invest a billion dollar in bitcoin then they can hold the coins they are making selling the cars and they keep on growing but they need to be careful as the market is really volatile and you need to be smart when you are dealing in a market like this. Musk does have all the confidence in the world and there was a time he was struggling when his companies were not giving him the profit and i am sure they will not be taking much risk.

I'm very confident the price of bitcoin can't go below than $40k anymore, especially going down like 2017-2018 period it will never be happen anymore.

Tesla describes bitcoin payment method in Bitcoin - Terms and conditions. They have yet described about exchange rate of BTC to US dollar when a customer clicks on Buy. I know it will be a fixed rate at the time of Buy click and the rate will be fixed in 30 minutes. However, Tesla should rewrite their guide.

Is that what it really meant? From what I understand, you will have to complete the whole buying process within the time frame given before the BTC price changes. It wasn't clearly mentioned if it should be confirmed on the Bitcoin network.

This is what their FAQ says:

The payments page will refresh within one minute after you send the payment. Don’t send a new payment if your page doesn’t refresh. We’ll let you know (by email or through your Tesla Account) once we confirm that we’ve received your payment through the Bitcoin network. This can take up to six hours. If you don’t get confirmation from us, please contact your wallet provider. You might need to re-initiate payment.

How long do I have to complete my payment?
You’ll have until the timer on the payments page expires to complete your payment. If time runs out, you’ll need to restart your order process, and your alphanumeric or QR code, Bitcoin wallet address, and Bitcoin price might be updated.

^ Based on that, customer payment doesn't have to confirm within the next three blocks.

Definitely time change. This is the proof that Bitcoin is slowly climbing to the peak of business world where big institutions and personalities are there. Elon and Tesla are popular so not difficult to evangelist the world about Bitcoin as a method of payment and a method of good asset to hold. Its up the Bitcoin holder if he/she will convert his Bitcoin to fiat, hold Bit coin, or use it as a method of payment. This will gonna hit the door of car and business industries. Possible, few more years the world is in Cryptos adoption.

I’m not sure if it is just to attract possible customers or investors but I think it’s a great strategy for Elon Musk to accept Bitcoin as a form of payment if they purchase Tesla. It’s an advantage to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to be really known and accepted by people who still does not believe in cryptos, but the downside is that since Tesla owns a couple of Bitcoin already, I just hope he would not withdraw them all or the market would go ga-ga if that’ll happen.

- It's not a good signal, it's just a little promotional event, instead of accepting bitcoin, I prefer them to invest money in bitcoin because a large corporation always gets a lot of attention, they will bring in many of their allies, as a result the value of that investment will increase very quickly and this is why I prefer them to pour money rather than an acceptance. Too many companies are already accepting bitcoin and investors will not apply this payment method, so there's no need for more, the final destination should be capitalization

I think this is how rich gets richer, they adapt to the trends and take advantage on the current market. Good move for Elon Musk, pretty sure that the Tesla stocks will soar as well. Good signal or not, I believe this will surely affect the market entirely.

yes, I've read those tweets. I posted that tweet on my Instagram account too to address my friend who is really into stocks and skeptical about bitcoin. LOL.
it's even better when he said that it will be retained as bitcoin. since it uses blockchain, we will know that is true or not in the future.

This is one of the best news for Bitcoin. Tesla is like it is making a big effort for Bitcoin price to reach greater levels.    Firstly, they have bought huge amount of BTC (which is valued  $1.5 billion) and now they started accepting Bitcoin on their car sales. And they won't even convert it to fiat which shows they are intending to increase their investment.
